so the D802 BUMPed zip is also JB bootloader, right? I compared the aboot.bin of the bump one with the loki one, it's the same MD5. Could you please replace the JB bootloader in bump zip to KK bootloader? Because if we need JB bootloader we will flash the loki zip instead of the bump one,but if we need KK bootloader we have nothing to flash.

Loki or bump?
Hello, I'm running cm12.0 on ls980 . came from stock kk , used autorec , recovery is now 2.8.6.1. So I assume I need to flash the kk bootstack. If that's correct, do I flash bootstack first then cm12.1? Do I need to wipe cache after flashing bootstack and before flashing 12.1. Or do I not wipe cache at all? And do I need a different gapps then what I've been using for 12.0? So sorry for being a pain. Thanks in advance

I'm running AICP 5.1.1 on my LS980. The only thing other than the ROM and gapps that I ever had to flash was a modem. What is a bootstack? Would it improve my experience? If so, which one should I flash?
wich one i have or how doi check. i had lollipop 5.0.2 d800 30c i think..now on cloudy 3.3
not sure what to do
ok so let me start off with that i am sorry if this answer can be found on another forum or has been already answered, i have been looking for hours and have not found an answer. so the question is what happens if the bootstack fails to flash what steps can i take to fix this? and if my LG G2 doesn't boot after flashing this would there be a way to fix that? btw i wouldn't like to have to get a jtag repair if i mess this up. thanks in advance!
Hi guys.. I have a question. I am on cloudy g2 3.3 and i want to try CM 13.. I have done a full backup or the rom. If, after the flash of CM, I would go back to cloudy, have I to flash some bootstack or bootloader?

Dear Helper,
This question might not belong here, but I'm looking for an experienced response.
I was on cloudyG2 2.2 KK on LG G2 D800 (AT&T). Updated bootloader to "bootstack-d800-KK_20y-v1.1-blastagator-signed.zip" via TWRP 2.8.7.1 and then flashed CloudyG2 3.3 LP. Now facing a problem which is;
When I reboot the phone from within the OS or turn it on from an off state, it goes into a bootloop on LG logo, every time. I then have to enter TWRP via hardware button combo and reboot system from within TWRP and only then the phone boots into OS. Besides the bootloop, the phone is working perfectly on Cloudy once in the OS.
Where did I go wrong? Did I flash something that I shouldn't have? Did I break something? Any way I can fix it?
Any help will be appreciated.

Sorry if i ask an already solved question, but i could not find an answer.
I installed stock kikat with LG tool, i am now rooted.. I saw cloudystock 2.1 is released, i want to know if i need to flash the kitkat baseband befor flashing this new ROM?
By the it will also be kind if someone could tell me the steps to install cloudypro in my case.
my guess is:
- using AutoRec to install TWRP 2.7.0.0
- make a wipe system/data/cache/dalvik
- flash baseband kk (?)
- flash cloudypro 2.1
am i right?
sorry once more if the question is already solved elsewhere, iam noob
There's no harm in flashing the correct base band before flashing a rom.

i have the d800, and i want to flash Blisspop v3.2 onto it. im currently on stock lollipop (d80030f). its been rooted, and i used autorec (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=b007.autorecd800&hl=en) to get twrp, and thats all i done at this time. i understand that i need to flash the lollipop bootstack, but there are two files given on the thread, one for loki and one for bump. which do i need to flash?
Im pasting my reply from another thread please follow from where you left off at.
Ok flash back via tot to kitkat and take ota to lollipop. Then use autorec v2. *Do not use the twrp thats comes autorec as it does not flash roms* flash a BUMPED twrp using twrp. Then install your lolipop rom then afterwards install the dormainx d800 lollipop patch.

So i need to:
1. flash bumped twrp
2. install rom and gapps
3. install dormainx d800 patch
i think i get it now. since i already took the ota to d80030f, and then rooted i dont need to do the tot flash back to kitkat.
Yeah sorry about that I didn't feel like retyping my post so I copied it from another thread where a guys was stuck in bootloop.

Hi guys,
I'm a newbie in this rooting world. So please bear with me. I know this forum will help me solve my problems and answer my questions so here goes.
The problem is I can't flash any rom. I'm having this error
"E:Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/Download/CM12/CM-12-20150802-NIGHTLY-D802.zip"
What I did was
-Rooted my phone
-Install AutoRec to install TWRP Recovery
-Install quickboot
-Reboot into recovery
_Update my TWRP recovery to 2.8.7.1 bumped
-Backed up my everything
-Wipe everything (except Internal Storage)
-Install CM12 alongside with GAPPS
Now everytime I flash a rom I end up with that error.
My device is
LG G2 D802 Rooted Running on 5.0.2 Stock ROM.
Can somebody help me please? It will be much appreciated.
Thanks XDA Members.
Can you also suggest some good ROMS compatible with my device?
Thank you.
I got exactly the same message on my d802.
Unfortunately, I wiped my system and it rebooted with a "security error" message. I had to restore a stock LP ROM using LG's Mobile Support Tool program.
@audit13 and @markl098 official cm12 might be still using the old loki method of installing so it will need the jellybean bootloader. Most of the times if you get that error you are using a rom which is using loki on a kitkat bootloader. I suggest to use nevax bootloader changer and flash the rom. You might also need another modem for it. Search it on the forum which modem you need for the official cm12, you probably need kitkat aosp modem from dr87.
I also suggest to look for the newer roms in the forum here in xda as most of them are all using new caf sourcecode and running on lollipop bootstack with bump. (Ofcourse kitkat bootloader)
Audit13 the security error probably happend because you wiped the system but the boot.img remained and loki isn't signing the boot.img with an lg key so it will result on kitkat bootloader in an security error. With bump that problem is fixed as the kernels are getting signed with an lg key. I hope you guys can flash now happy further with no probs

Thank you so much for your answer. I can't find much info on that regard. Things becoming more clear now. Can I ask one more question?
I was on stock, decide to try SlimSaber, which is quite nice by the way. So, I rooted my D800 and got TWRP. Then flashed Loki's lollipop bootstack (bootstack-d800-LP_30d-loki-signed.zip) recommended by OP and ROM and GAPPS. Everything works perfect. Now if I want go for 4.4.2 based stock ROM for example I should flash K.K bootstack before? I found this file - bootstack-d800-KK_20y-v1.1-blastagator-signed.zip. So is this mandatory always flash bootstack before upgrading downgrading, right? I can't find any detailed info on this in XDA unfortunately.
Thank you for your time.
Greetings.

Ehhm. You can try it. The reason why is because the use of bootstacks became more since lollipop. You can try it. Perhaps it works else you could always autorec and then folllow the guide on how to flash. I can test it perhaps also for you later. Ofc with my d802 version but I am still underway from heading back so I can test jt only from wednesday
@audit13 no problem. :good: enjoy

Can you tell me how did you do it ? I'm really new to this.
Edit:
NVM, I figured it out. I just used the nevax's bootloader changer. Changed to JB Bootloader and now I can flash custom roms with no errors. Thank you @wulsic

Hi All,
I've been doing a lot of reading and would just like some clarification that I have understood everything correctly!
My scenario: I've bought a used (but in great condition) D802 from ebay UK, due to arrive soon.
Here are the list of steps that I think I should take to get it from stock LG android to the official CM12.1 (Lollipop) software:
1) Ensure that it is actually a D802 using this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/refurbished-fake-lg-g2-check-available-t3069242
2) Assuming it's not on LG lollipop version, upgrade to LG lollipop using their official methods.
(This should give me the latest LP bootstack and bootloader)
3) Root using this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/guide-root-method-lg-devices-t3049772
4) Use AutoRec - Lollipop version from playstore:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=b007.autorec2&hl=en_GB
(This should leave me with LP bootstack, but downgrade the bootloader from LP to KK)
5) Go into the recovery (TWRP) which was installed by AutoRec and flash over a newer (also Bumped) TWRP recovery by blastagator
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/development/twrp-twrp-2-8-0-0-kernel-f2fs-tools-t2898705
(This recovery should be more recent than the one provided by AutoRec)
6) Make a full backup (including EFS partition) in blastagator's TWRP recovery
7) Flash official CM12.1 and OpenGapps
8) Smile!
If someone could check this out for me and give me any comments/feedback/advice, that would be most appreciated!
Thanks
Mackaa
yes after step 6.
flash hybrid bootstacks. go to main menu. reboot into recovery from recovery. then once in twrp flash rom gapps.

Thanks for your reply, raptorddd.
However, if I upgrade to the latest LG android software (LP), then use the AutoRec app for LP, wouldn't this effectively give me the latest hybrid bootstack?
Therefore, no need to flash a hybrid bootstack?
I'm sorry if I might be missing something here!

nope auto rec is twrp and it will give you old twrp so i suggest to use balsttagator thermal twrp.
you will have normal LP bootstacks most people get boot loop after flashing cm13. then installing hybrid boots phone.

Yep, I understand that AutoRec will give me TWRP (albeit an old version).
But AutoRec will also downgrade my bootloader to KitKat right?
What I'm asking is that if my phone is running LGs latest software update (lollipop), and then I use AutoRec, won't that mean that I'll then have a hybrid bootstack? (Evertything in the bootstack will be LP, apart from the bootloader which will be KK due to AutoRec's downgrade)??

if am correct theres only KK and JB bootloader. no LP bootloader so ithink you will have KK bootloader bumped.
and youll have normal bootstacks. there are bootstacks and hybrid. hybrid is recommended for stock, and CAF roms. most cm roms are CAF. so more compatibility.
