Hello there and thank you for joining the discussion.
I have read so many stuff and information that I ended up confused.
As far as I understood... There is no ROOT or Custom Recovery for 4.4.2 yet
EXCEPT if you go:
back to 4.2.2
flash (with loki) a Recovery,
Upgrade to Philz CWM Recovery,
Install KK Baseband,
and then whatever KK Rom you want?
First and last BUMP.
(If none replies please delete it).

That's accurate. Philz CWM or TWRP(if you want to use custom roms based off of AOSP) and then KK Baseband (unless, again, you want to use custom roms, then forgo this step and flash whatever you want, they will come with kernels and basebands afaik
Alright! Thanks to both of you.
Someone Lock it

hello, just got this phone yesterday. are there rooted bin files/kdz files for kitkat for this phone? care to link me to one if there is? firmware doesnt matter thanks!
more questions: can i flash international kdz files onto my lg g2 (at&t)
i came from lg p925, and i'm just wondering if most things will be similar, like same lg flashtool application and r&d flasher stuff. thanks again haha
Don't every cross flash kdzs please I don't think you can anyway haha

any other comments? i dislike "think" xD
No cross flashing is a no for the device, some people do it at their own risk but with d800 a tot cross flash wouldn't work with the dll and tot file not matching the bin/model check just stick to the roms for your d800, as for flashing you can check out the back to stock thread on the general section and the method you would use is the flash tool with tot files

so after i root my phone, i can just use rom manager and flash cwm recovery, right? how do i enter recovery? i'm not familiar with lg g2 at all yet haha. and can i flash roms right afterwards? or do i need to install wkparks (or was that only for my previous phone)/uboot files?

Well to install recovery it depends if on 4.2 jb then which of all the versions are you on d80010d/o/q or are you in kk 4.4 d80020c/k
If on d80010q/o then downgrade to 10d then root and install custom recovery with freegee from play store, if on d80020c/k the you can install recovery via auto rec
If on 4.2 then after flashing recovery you can flash any aosp/jb Rom without worrying, but if you want a 4.4 stock/flex/pro 2 Rom then you will also need to flash a kk baseband, if on 4.4 then you can flash any 4.4 stock/flex/pro 2 Rom without issues but if you want aosp then you will need the kk baseband that's been ported to aosp or the jb baseband/If flashing 4.2 stock/flex based roms you will need the jb baseband, hopefully I am not forgetting anything

Well I am not sure what you mean, for d800 you can only use flash tool with tot files, if you are asking if there are pre rooted flashable tot files via flash tool then as far as I know their aren't any
Just in case you didn't notice I update my other post

Any kit Kat Rom that's either 4.4 flex/g pro 2 ported, 4.4 stock based as long as it supports your d800, any aosp Rom with the correct baseband as long as it supports your d800

Yes there is a way, theres an app you can install called Autorec, this application will automatically set up a Custom Recovery for you to backup your files, here's a Link to get started.

Thanks for the fast reply, well i read this comment on the link you game me, im just curious and also worried that i might brick my phone, cause im a total noob when it comes to these things,
Here's some of the comments i read about D802T
"Please note you cannot install custom recovery in stock KK via any method for the D802T Australian variant and get it to boot. LG has not released kernel source code for Aussie variant, for KK, so Loki exploit does not work. If you want a custom recovery under KK you will have to install a custom ROM with already patched kernel. If you plan to stay on JB 4.2.2, however, you can indeed root and/or install TWRP without hassle on stock."
"u cant use this on the Australian version D802T.
It will soft brick your phone."
Now what should i do? im just very confused.

there is a way to do it. Follow the guide and root kk but before you install autorec, make sure you have a custom rom zip ready to go on your phone sdcard and whilst still in TWRP (dont try to boot into kk yet), simply flash your custom rom, and then the phone will boot normally.
After rom and kernel install (i dont know which one cos i installed many) i lost all the sensors, anyone have an idea to solve this ? Except full system and stock rom recovery
Thanx guys

yes i tried latest kitkat baseband but it didnt work
You can see the rom/kernel name in about settings but so far as i know you probably have to reflash an kernel/rom to fix the sensors or you need to locate the sensor files from the g2 rom you're using and make an flashable zip from it.
same problem, how can i fix it,please help me
Can you guys to do a clean flash and flash KK modem first and then the rom?
Have you tried backing up your current rom, restoring stock rom backup, and restoring the custom rom again? Works for me every time.

Q&A for LG G2 Bootstacks
Some developers prefer that questions remain separate from their main development thread to help keep things organized. Placing your question within this thread will increase its chances of being answered by a member of the community or by the developer.
Before posting, please use the forum search and read through the discussion thread for LG G2 Bootstacks. If you can't find an answer, post it here, being sure to give as much information as possible (firmware version, steps to reproduce, logcat if available) so that you can get help.
Thanks for understanding and for helping to keep XDA neat and tidy!

so the D802 BUMPed zip is also JB bootloader, right? I compared the aboot.bin of the bump one with the loki one, it's the same MD5. Could you please replace the JB bootloader in bump zip to KK bootloader? Because if we need JB bootloader we will flash the loki zip instead of the bump one,but if we need KK bootloader we have nothing to flash.

I have cloudy g2 3.3 5.0.2
If I want flash cm 12.1 muat flash boot stack
Loki or bump?
Hello, I'm running cm12.0 on ls980 . came from stock kk , used autorec , recovery is now 2.8.6.1. So I assume I need to flash the kk bootstack. If that's correct, do I flash bootstack first then cm12.1? Do I need to wipe cache after flashing bootstack and before flashing 12.1. Or do I not wipe cache at all? And do I need a different gapps then what I've been using for 12.0? So sorry for being a pain. Thanks in advance

Or can somebody possibly tell me what bootloader I have. Kk or jb?

I'm running AICP 5.1.1 on my LS980. The only thing other than the ROM and gapps that I ever had to flash was a modem. What is a bootstack? Would it improve my experience? If so, which one should I flash?
wich one i have or how doi check. i had lollipop 5.0.2 d800 30c i think..now on cloudy 3.3
not sure what to do
ok so let me start off with that i am sorry if this answer can be found on another forum or has been already answered, i have been looking for hours and have not found an answer. so the question is what happens if the bootstack fails to flash what steps can i take to fix this? and if my LG G2 doesn't boot after flashing this would there be a way to fix that? btw i wouldn't like to have to get a jtag repair if i mess this up. thanks in advance!
Hi guys.. I have a question. I am on cloudy g2 3.3 and i want to try CM 13.. I have done a full backup or the rom. If, after the flash of CM, I would go back to cloudy, have I to flash some bootstack or bootloader?

Dear Helper,
This question might not belong here, but I'm looking for an experienced response.
I was on cloudyG2 2.2 KK on LG G2 D800 (AT&T). Updated bootloader to "bootstack-d800-KK_20y-v1.1-blastagator-signed.zip" via TWRP 2.8.7.1 and then flashed CloudyG2 3.3 LP. Now facing a problem which is;
When I reboot the phone from within the OS or turn it on from an off state, it goes into a bootloop on LG logo, every time. I then have to enter TWRP via hardware button combo and reboot system from within TWRP and only then the phone boots into OS. Besides the bootloop, the phone is working perfectly on Cloudy once in the OS.
Where did I go wrong? Did I flash something that I shouldn't have? Did I break something? Any way I can fix it?
Any help will be appreciated.
