d803 thinks its a d801 - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

ok heres the problem
I have a rogers lg g2 that i was hoping to use with wind. I unlocked the phone thinking the sim would work but it didnt,
so not really using my brain i rooted and installed twrp on it and installed a tmobile rom thinking the sim would work....it didnt.
so now im stuck on a cloudy rom with no way of going back that i know of.
i tried installing a d803 rom but twrp says error that a 803 and this devie is an 801.
i tried using flash tool to flash the right firmware but when i try to go into dl mode all i see is a blue line and a box in the top right corner then the screen goes black and nothing works.
I just want to be able to go back to rogers.....
what can i do

What I would do is download build prop editor by jrummy from the play store. Then search ro.product.model and edit that back to a d803 and go back to stock.

You might have also damaged the modem . I would recommend reflashing the modem as well. Find the modem that corresponds to your android version and install it via twrp.

Okay, what I want you to do is go on your computer and open the zip file for the pa ROM. Then navigate to system folder and copy the build.prop to the desktop. Then go to twrp, advanced settings and go to file explorer. Navigate to the system folder.
I will be back, i have to go twrp on my phone and see what button you have to click

I got a better idea, download this file and extract it to your computer. http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1258331&d=1344846415
Then go to system and delete the build.prop that is in the downloaded file. Put the build.prop that you extracted earlier from the pa ROM into the system folder and rezip the file and flash it via twrp.

[Q] soft brick help

im kinda new to the whole rooting/rom thing, i rooted my s4 successfully, but when i went to install the rom i thought it was on my usb retardedly, so i wiped my phone, hooked up the usb, and it wasnt there. it said my phone was unrooted and asked me if i wanted to instal s2 to root it i hit yes, and now the phone wont boot up past samsung galaxy s4 home screen. i was using TWRP but it wont even open ... help me please im freakin out, prolly broke my phone i just bought it a week ago.
edit: okay so after trying like 15x twrp finally opened up. i put the backup i made onto my pc. do i just load it onto my usb, hook it up and go twrp > restore > usb-otg and restore it?
edit2: i go to restore but it shows nothing in my usb.
im freaking out again help please >.< do i need a file to install/where can i get it to get back to stock?
Download Odin and a rom in .tar format. Hold the volume down and power button to go into download mode. Then connect to usb and see the com port pop up, then select the pda tab and browse to the tar file. Then flash that. It will install stock firmware and recovery or rooted firmware and custom recovery based on what tar file you download.
If that sounds like too much to take in, and I suck at writing this kind of stuff up, do a YouTube search for sprint s4 unbrick/unroot and it should show all the steps.

Yea you should return to Stock Firmware. It should solve your issue.
Always, read and double check, even triple check before you mess with your phone. You should be alright if you follow previous post instructions.

Before that do double check the version dat it support ur device.pay attention to this.n do calmly.
N the more u try more r d chances of getting thru the prob.
Do search for s4 backup n restore it.
Or repair via kies.

then I tried fastboot reboot n I get

But nothing actually happens and phone never reboots :\

Do you know the exact model of your phone. Please check before you continue because toy can further brick your phone if you do not flash the right stuff. Also it would be helpful to know what ROM you were running previously. KitKat or lollipop?

Yeah I was able to get in qhusb_bulk mode and in windows 8.1 64bit it was showing lots of disks asking to be formatted.
Then I installed ubuntu on virtual machine and tried to flash images with dd command and those were successful. I unpluged the usb and put the buttons plate back and restarted the phone but still no download mode. I even flashed twrp recovery but NOTHING!
and something that i noticed today that my phones motherboard is once changed and its d801 tmobile and not d800 :\
and something about my ubuntu, on virtual machine it recognizes the phone but disconnect/reconnects after 10secs automatically.
How can I use SRK Tool?
And I have to add In my device manager it shows qhsusub_bulk with a yellow icon meaning its not recognized Is that a problem? do i have to find drivers?
Download these drivers for qualcomm it will change it to qualcomm ... 9006 mode instead of QHSUSBBULK. http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...8&d=1308601930

I flashed jasmine with flash fire . Then i had to flash a partial firmware with odin. After the flash I couldn't enter recovery mode to clear the cash and factory reset it wouldn't boot. So I had to flash the stock Verizon 5.0 rom to get the phone working again

Are you on 0B6 or 0F1.? Just root reinstall su and busybox . Once that's done download jasmine 6.1 and flash with flashfire. .then it takes a long time booting with 4 icons across screen. Be patient. Then you could have fun

davekaz, can you give me the exact tutorial you used to get jasmine v6.1 installed on the verizon note 3, my note 3 has the OF1 firmware, could you tell me what version of flashfire you used ? its bugging me that i cant get this installed, when some people can
V0.30 I think flashfire..Do you have verizon account? I allowed people to get files from my dropbox but now they limited my account.. have you been on rooted 5 for a bit? Jasmine is no big difference except for xposed

And they are in the midst of unlocking the phone so maybe just enjoy being rooted have you seen the thread for xposed? If you can put that on its the same as jasmine...I gave you all the steps earlier. .the only I could think of...can you screenshot your phone settings after you root and all?

[HELP] S5 will not boot

Hello all,
I have a completely stock VZW S5. Yesterday after restarting be cause it was a bit laggy it went into a boot loop. "Galaxy S5" screen comes up then about 7-10 seconds later goes black and I feel two quick vibrate pulses and it repeats.... Does this indefinitely.
I am unable to boot to normal safe mode or recovery mode. I can however boot to Download mode which brings me here.
What are your suggestions. I read somewhere that since I can boot to download it is likely a software issue. Thoughts? Suggest would be greatly appreciated.
And FWIW I am completely noob in this world of rooting so talk slowly! lol
Thank you,
Try pulling the battery then boot into recovery. From there you could try:
1. Clearing cache
2. Factory reset
If you absolutely can't boot into anything except download mode, you could try to use Odin to reload whichever ROM you were on. Good luck!

I am thinking I have toe go the Odin route. I can't boot into anything other than download.
I have a mac so that makes things more difficult. I have downloaded JODNI3 and Heimdall in preparation that I will have to go this route. However since I cannot get on my phone, I can't lookup my version I have to pick a stock ROM. And I have no idea what I would do even if I could pick it.
If you can use Odin, you can pick any stock OEM ROM.

Where can I get them? The ones I have found are from files exchange sites and the download time is 15-20hrs unless I pay $20 for a "premium" membership.
And once I find a stock ROM where can I find info on how to use JODIN3? Like what section do I upload the ROM file to??
The are several places here to find the OEM ROM you need, but I can't help you with a Mac. Again, there are instructions here on how to use Odin for a PC.

It's not that hard. I just used Odin and loaded PB1 LP followed by PD1 MM the next day.

I am loading in the PDA slot. I do not have anything in the PIT slot. Is that correct? Again note I am using Jodin3 so not sure of the differences to Odin on PC.
