You mean this one? https://download.chainfire.eu/611/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-jfvelte-jfveltexx-gti9515.zip
Is it safe for lollipop? wifi and sound problem?

Well, try towelroot.
https://towelroot.com/tr.apk
Activeroots is here: http://geohot.com/activeroot/

Have you tried them on Lollipop i9515?

@HamidZaeri: Don't pay too much attention to what Hannah says, or she might have you try to install an AT&T baseband on your I9515 and thus risk bricking your S4. If you don't care about Knox, then just use CF-Autoroot and be done with it. While I believe Towelroot has been updated to work on Android 5.x, it may not work on the value edition S4 due to subtle hardware differences.

[Q] Just bought my Note 3

1. I'm still on 4.3, My baseband is N900TUVUBM17, I would like to root WITHOUT tripping Knox.. Is this at all possible at this juncture? If so, what method should work? (I can follow directions, I just need confirmation)
2. I need 4.3 or 4.4 stock for when I eventually turn this phone back in for the JUMP program to get the Note 4, is there a link somewhere?
3. Are most ROMs for the Note 3, 4.3? And if there are 4.4 ROMs, can I flash those if I root my phone on 4.3? I'm interested in SlimKat mostly with Lean Kernel.
4. I heard that flashing a kernel or ROM will trip Knox, so how does one go about doing any of this without tripping it?
5. I thought t-mobile had a flash counter when you turn your phone in (different from Knox), is that true? And can it be reset? If so how?
I'm not new to rooting, and I have read these forms before making this topic. I just need mostly a confirmation on what has worked for people with the same baseband as me..
As always, thank you!!

Check This thread to see if you can root without mesing with KNOX
It doesn't matter what Samsung software is on the device when you exchange via the JUMP programme from what I am aware, so long as it's original Samsung TouchWiz
There's loads of ROMS for 4.3 and 4.4 - however the 4.3 are not updated so much now if at all - AllianceROM currently still support 4.3 and is a very good ROM - There is plenty now for 4.4 - and I mean plenty, @civato does some great kernels also and his ROM FlexKat is pretty great. - XNOTE is another big ROM for 4.4 as is Omega and SweetROM all of which are just great. You have to try them to get a feel of which you prefer though
Kernel flashing/Custom recovery flashing will indeed trip your KNOX. There is(was?) a method in the General section about how to do it safely via Mobile Odin PRO. but you'd have to read up on that.
As for the T-Mo counter, I cannot comment on that as I do not have an N900T however you can look @ the T-Mo forum for more answers which is HERE
Root De Late Vega will allow you to root without tripping Knox, provided that you do not update the phone.
After rooting you can use mobile Odin to flash 4.3 version MJ7 but you cannot update to KitKatt if you wish to keep both root and Knox 0x0. KitKatt has a new bootloader which is patched against the Vega exploit.
Sammobile.com is the place to find sock firmware. To Vega it you'll need the stock BMI7 firmware for your device to begin.
You must not flash any custom recoveries or kernels if you wish to keep Knox intact either.

First of all, love your post! :good:
Do you know if you have the Knox bootloader? You can check by booting into download mode, if there is a line with Knox void 0x0, then you will do and unfortunately you can't download using official firmware.
If you root/flash custom recovery you can downgrade using custom ROMs but you will void the knox warranty.
Are you experiencing problems or having any particular issues with 4.3? Why do you want to downgrade?
First, thank you my brother because you're keen to help others.
My problem with the Kit Kat is root. Because, after the installation of root indicates that the case of Device custom, but some applications need Root do not to operate efficiently.

Yes the security Samsung introduced with Knox caused a lot of issues for some people. Luckily I am still on the old (MGA) pre-knox bootloader, but running a rooted stock based 4.4.2 ROM and can go back to official 4.2.2 if need be. So it really just depends on whether you value the knox warranty or prefer just to go ahead and root and enjoy the features that come with it.

[Q] Root not working with new update

I had my verizon samsung galaxy s4 phone rooted through towelroot and it samsung updated this morning and know I don’t have the root. I tried reinstalling it through towelroot but it says the phone is not supported. It updated the kernel to 3.4.0, [email protected] #1, dated august 28, 2014. The build number is VRUFNG6. How do I fix this? Thank you.
There is a forum specifically for the Verizon S4. You will have better luck asking your question there as there will be more users who have encounter this or a similar problem and who know how the Verizon firmware can be fixed.
Towelroot doesn't work with your kernel, you need to use CF-Auto-Root with odin

[Q] GT-i9506 Safe root

Hello
My S4 got lollipop this weekend, (I9506XXUDOA6) and i want to root it without tripping knox. Is there any way to do this? Ive tryed towelroot or kingoroot but nothing worked
thanks in advance
I'm not 100% sure, but I don't believe you can downgrade the Android 5.0.1 modem to an earlier version and root using Towelroot. CF Autoroot still works, but it will trip Knox.
Yes thats the case.. I dont want to trip knox and i wont try to downgrade the modem.. Ok maybe patience is what i need
Im just facing some curious lags on my phone that have no sense... For example in the recent apps, on facebook, on messenger, and on swiftkey keyboard.. But i have to admit that battery is at its best. On kitkat with normal use, the phone was dead for about 20 hours, and now on lollipop for about 2 and a half days i guess? Does anyone know how to fix those lags or minimize them?
My main concern, and something I'll have to do further research into, is whether I'd lose my SIM unlock on an upgrade. I used RegionLock Away to unlock my S4 after repairing it. The unlock survived the restoration of Android 4.4.2, but I have my concerns as to whether it would survive an upgrade to 5.0.1. Especially as downgrading the modem apparently is not possible.
It might simply be easier for me to find a custom Touchwiz ROM and install it instead, but there aren't many of them as of yet.
Can anyone confirm that there is no way to saferoot a s4 lte-a with official lollipop?

HELP Rooint galaxy s4 5.0.1

iv been out of the rooting loop for awhile, i just got a brand new replacement s4 and looking to root (DO NOT want to trip knox) (just want to root not installing custom firmware)
iv googled a bit but everything seems to be old
so just wondering if u can root 5.0.1 galaxy s4 i337m without tripping knox
if anyone has any info or links thanks
hopefully without having to downgrade!!
Its impossible (momentarily) to direct root 5.0.1
Only method is downgrading to NB1 - rooting with towelroot - then doing a keeproot update to 5.0.1
Downgrade to NB1 and root using this post HERE (Second post - second part under HOW TO GET TO ANY KITKAT 4.4.2)
To update to 5.0.1 and keep root follow this post HERE.

say right in the first link who should not use this ....i337m (which is canadian gs4)
Who SHOULD NOT use this guide?
-- SGH-I337 users with a MDB or MDL bootloader. (Don’t use this guide or you’ll be locked down for good.)
-- Anyone using another Galaxy S4 variant, such as T-Mobile, Verizon, i337m, etc...
..??
anybody ?

Im really, really sorry that i missed such an important information. My apologies.
Btw, the canadian version has an unlocked bootloader (Im pretty sure) so it has to be much easier to get lollipop
There are some more ways to root

your dont have to do all this stuff you can root it with 1 click
I know of no way to root without tripping Knox once the phone is running the latest 4.4.2 and higher.
I bought a used s4 i337m for parts and clobbered together a frankenphone that's running 5.01. SInce CF Autoroot won't work, I'll flash TWRP and supersu when I get a chance.
Oh!. By the way, the Philz Recovery method did not work on my 1 week old gt-i9500. The other method of flashing the ch root tar file through latest Odin worked to root my s4
