Hello
I need your help.
Hey, I tried to investigate all information about problem WIFI.
But my case is very rare. My wifi doesn't working anymore .
I will explain my story about it.
My SPECS:
Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505 LTE
Base Band = I9505XXUEMJ5
Time = 2 years .
BEFORE Firmware = Android 4.3
AFTER Firmware = Android 5.0.1

Two days ago I was trying to update some latest version of app, As Whatsapp, Facebook, Messenger, youtube, y DI Radio. and play Marvel: Contest of Champions.
Later - The Wifi is OFF. or no work.
Yesterday.
1. Read all about problem wifi in many forums.
2. Test *#0011# and POWER SAVER OFF, WORK. but later 6 hours. WIFI NO WORK = FAIL
3. Download APP - Wifi Manager. WORK WIFI. but Later 6 hours. WIFI NO WORK = FAIL
Today
1. Install PhilZ Touch 6.58.7, - WORK
Use Odin 3.09
2. Install Android 5.0.1 Lollipop with wifi ---- see video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YN5RGpwSvDI
Firmware = XXUHA07-v1.1.zip
Lollipop 5.0.1 is Success and work perfect but NO WORK WIFI = FAIL
3. Finally, i got a another fix modem with wifi. --- I9505XXUGNK4_GSM_AND_LTE_MODEM.tar
Make odin and AP Flash it. "PASS"
So WIFI = NO WORK = FAIL
OMG ..., I see such problem is very complicated.
So i have bad luck with wifi.
Please give me another alternative or suggestion to solve my wifi.
Otherwise I will throw the galaxy s4 to hell....

Thank you
somebody have a firmware original ?
Android 4.3 ???
PDA: I9505XXUEMJ5
CSC: I9505OXAEMJ5
MODEM: I9505XXUEMJ5
re-flash 5.0.1 again
somehow your modem is still old one (wasn't updated)
I had similar situation with "unable to turn wifi on" when updating OB7 -> OE3 (both 5.0.1, just new build).
It took me like 4 flashes before my phone finally grabbed modem files enabling wifi again.
Tried different Odin versions each time, forgot which one finally did it (possibly the one shipped with CF-auto-root)

Hardware failure. It's not software. If it was software then it just would not work at all.
Service center or let someone replace the wifi module.
Thank for suggestion, i will try go Service Center. or maybe i will change phone.
Also I did another option for change modem.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192025
I did it.
But, the baseband version, didn't change.
MODEM: I9505XXUEMJ5 to MODEM: I9505XXUEMJ7.
ODIN = PASS
Now appear I9505XXUEMJ5.
Well....

OK, i will do it ...
I did flashed 3 times.
Now im using Kitkat 4.4.2 Hele Rom v8.
I will test different version or lastest version Odin.
Hey what is OB7 ---> OB3??
target firmware was official i9505xxuhOE3 (5.0.1 xeo region - Poland, not branded, build from July or August)
forgot exact letter code but previous one was also 5.0.1 for Poland - just older build (March or April build OB7)
Sent from my TF300T using XDA Free mobile app
I'm having a similar issue
It started when I went Form Cyanogenmod 11 back to Stock 4.4.4
Every new method i came across would get it working for a short period of time then i would quit working again. I think ive exhausted the method of trouble shooting.
Method of trouble shooting thus far: safe mode boot, changing Wifi and bluetooth supplicants which worked for a period then deleted and booted in to safe mode which worked until reboot. Ive also tried numerous rom flashes both stock and custom along with modem flashes, short code and build.prop modification all to no avail
So this is what i believe I know. If I'm wrong if someone could kindly lead me in a direction of proof. I DO NOT believe it to be a hardware malfunction. For several reasons: 1. if it were a hardware issue would it simple not work at all 2. When using a stock rom every time i go to turn on wifi it tell me that some security measure is kicking in and no further action is required, but only for a brief second in using the back key to exit the message does it give my a list of networks around.
Which leads me to believe that its KNOX or KNOX related
I'm currently working with a Knox 0x1 9505
Is there any way to modify/add security credentials to by what ever might be the issue

Hi
My Galaxy Tab P10000 doesn't recognize the MAC Adr of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
I can't use it. I can use only3G to access the internet.
This is my Tab Conf:

Any idea about this problem and how to solve it?
I hope that someone help me.

Don't want to state the obvious but are they turned on in settings?
Is your device rooted or all stock?

Hi alexgogan
When I turn on the wi-fi, after a few minutes appears the message ERROR and I can't connect or detect any wi-fi network. When I turn on the bluetooth, after some time he turn to the first step.
In the info Tab, the Wi-Fi and the Bluetooth mac address is unknow and the state is unavailable.
I've installed a stock rom (this rom) with the Odin. But this problem is prior to this installation.
Please help me. Thanks.
Sounds like there is modem failure. You may need to flash new modem again.
Would suggest reflashing stock rebooting and trying again.
If it was like this prior to flashing this build that may be the problem with original install.
How long has wifi not been working?
Thank you for your feedback.
The wifi stopped working after an upgrade via Kies, in November. Later I discovered that the bluetooth does not work too.
After that I made some ROM updates, but without success until today.
My questions to your sugestions are:
this modem (in my Tab) is in the correct version?
How can I flash the new modem?
which version?
by Odin?
Sorry for not getting back to you.
But if it's a mess with kies its strange.. But would not be surprised though if you got fault device with wrong stock and the official flashing messed things up.. So depends how long you had it, if it's still under warranty then Sammy must fix it, but not unless it's been rooted and the will use any excuse to get out of fixing it.
But odin will have no probs with chains cf root as well.
Just wish knew what it was before the flashing. I cause you might have changed things in the process. The it will depend on your carrier as well so www.samfimware.co will tell you and this wiki one of the guys put up should also help... But lot depends on your device for which carrier as some radios are modified and if you have wrong one then that would explain a lot.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_Tab
That or your actual physical radio is bust as well so then is hardware and no flashing will fix.
Hi all,
I just bought a note 3 on ebay with a fault "wifi can't connect to networks" .
I received it 2 days ago and turned on then turned WIFI on, connected to my network and everything was fine.
After a minute it shows software update available so i let it do that. Downloaded 81MB trough my wifi network then it had the update.
After the update finished I can' turn the WIFI on anymore.
Then I just take the battery out for few minutes, install it back, turn it on and it fine again. Until reboot..... Then battery out, wait, back and fine...
Kies update to the latest firmware-nothing changed...
After a quiet few hrs of reading forums i made a decision to try flash a UK official rom from sammobile. Odin failed. Then i installed custom CWM and tried install OMEGA ROM V6 . It was looking all good until reboot. Stock on the note 3 logo....
I di give a go anther UK firmware but no luck.
No im back to HONG KONG TGY again and the phone but fi.
Simle i just can't turn it on.... It shows turning on theen after 2-5 minutes it just off.
If i reboot the device WIFI always try to turn it self on, without pressing it..... This was a same when it worked. I tried to reboot the phone without removing the batte and WIFI OFF but it was rebooting and WIFI was "turning on" but wont work...
So th Q. is: Where can I go from TGY or can I change modem or CSC or something to give a go?
Right now it official TGY:
Android: 4.3
Baseband: N9005ZHUMDJ9
Kernel: 3.4.0-2061029
[email protected] #1
Tue nov 5 15:01:30 KST 2013
Build number: JSS15J.N9005ZHUDMK1
In KIES:
PDA: MK1 PHONE: MJ9 CSC MK1 (TGY)
Anyone got any tip how can i fix this?
Thanks a lot!
Sammy
Reflash the custom ROM and update your baseband to MJ7.
Though, a word of warning. As far as I understand, you can't go back to a lower baseband once you do this.
Still TGY after costume rom and baseband changed....

I had a go a few hrs ago and i managed to change the rom to omega rom.
Kies was showing:
:
PDA: ML2 PHONE: MJ9 CSC MK3 (TGY)
How can CSC still TGY???
After this I downloaded a new GSM modem ( N9005XUDML2 ) trough omega rom and installed succesefully.
Now KIES shows
PDA: ML2 PHONE: MJ7 CSC MK3 (TGY)
I did belive after install the N9005XUDML2 the baseband should be ML2....
Wifi still not working and still shows "turning on" then after a few minits it just looks like it off.
After I reboot it it is "turn on" again..... (without me turning on)
So again how is still on CSC:: MK3 (TGY) as TGY is the Hong Kong provider but everything is different now.....
Also why wifi is always on automatically in boot up?
Thanks for ANY help!
Try flashing the pre rooted MJ7 ROM (Odin) from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2461929
If it goes like how it went on my TGY Note 3, the flashing will give an error when it tries to flash system, but before that, it should update your baseband to MJ7. Custom ROMs should work fine after that.

As I stated in my last post the phone euns on OMEGA rom (V6) so it is rooted.
Kies shows: PDA: ML2 PHONE: MJ7 CSC MK3 (TGY
Wifi fine again temperately?
Here is some update:
I removed the battery last night and left a phone like that. This morning i had start the phone and the WIFI was OFF and i was able to turn it on. Now basically works how it should as i can turn it on / off as many times i wanted to. Im sore if I reboot the phone without battery removed it will have the same problem again... I will try this tonight as i will set the phone up for my self during the day..... If WIFI goes wrong after reboot again i will leave the battery out for a night again.....
The Q. are the same. Why WIFI is "try to be on" after normal reboot? ( battery in phone ) ? After custom rom installed why it is still sows CSC is TGY?
Thanks !
Sammy
I'm at a loss, man.
Tried any of the CSC changing app?
And in my previous post, I was trying to get your baseband updated. That solved a lot of issues for me.

Hello everybody,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505 4G (with a Qualcomm SnapDragon S600) and I have a big problem with my wifi : It doesn't work, activation is impossible.
Last Avril, I flashed my device thanks to Odin with the firmware XXUFNC4 and I rooted as well.
Since that day, I didn't alter my device but wifi's problem appeared at the end of July.
So I tried many solutions :
- Many ROM : Samy S5 Deluxe, Google Edition, official's firmware XXUFNG8...
- Various Bootloader & Modem with new ROM.
- Various Kernel (AEL, GoogyMax...)
But the wifi doesn't want to activate...
Now, I have the official's firmware XXUFNC4 (flashed twice with ODIN + flash of PIT alone + last flash of XXUFNC4 with ODIN) and the problem is still here...
I have :
AP : I9505XXUFNC4
CP : I9505XXUFNC4
CSC : I9505XXFNC3
I hope this isn't a hardware's probleme because of Know Warranty 0x1...
Thank you in advance for your answers.
PS : Sorry for my english, it's not my native tongue.

But after the first and second flash of fix Wifi, I succeeded to connect a Wifi a few secondes.

do you have a stock rom, are you root?
WIFI is kernel controlled , if you are root and have a custom recovery and have a custom rom you could try a different kernel ....
If in stock, flash again stock rom , maybe something went wrong during OTA
WIFI
My wifi was also off Until I found roms and fix from XDA
Now GT-I9505 is working great
AP I9505XXUGNH7
CP I9505XXUFNB9

Thank you for your time.
I don't actually have any idea about flashing or updating. All I know is that my S4 was okay until my nephew updated it to Kitkat. First I noticed that the mobile data is not working. I ignored it because I always use WIFI, then I also noticed my bluetooth isn't working as well. And recently the WIFI gave up too.
My nephew tried what he could like rooting, flashing kernel I think, modem wifi fix and custom ROM but nothing resolved the problems.
When I press mobile data, it turns green but there's no signal indicator, but if I put on another sim from another carrier (I'm in the Philippines by the way) mobile data turns on as I see signal on the upper right part of the screen.
But no matter what sim card or what carrier I'm on, the WIFI and bluetooth do not turn on. It also shows bluetooth and IP address unavailable.
Do you think this can still be fixed or is a hardware issue?
Thank you.

Hi .
is hard to tell without knowing for sure what has been done , what i would do , after backing up ( efs included) is returning it to stock i do not know what carrier you have but for example you have this one

Product Code: XTC

Yes you can , but you have to start all over..root , custom recovery and then flash custom rom , towelroot is used to get root with out tripping knox warranty bit....but if you are going to flash a custom rom the bit is going to be tripped anyway if it was not already.
This is just depressing.
I downloaded the file twice but when I'm already unzipping it it says folder is empty. I tried to download it on my tablet as well but it always fails.
I don't know what else to try. If only I can just go back to jelly bean.
Thank you for your time anyway. Thanks a lot.

Hi, I was able to complete the firmware update to XXUFNBE but its the same thing, no mobile data, no bluetooth and no wifi.
I put it back to XXUNGH8, same thing. I don't know what to do anymore. Is this a dead end for me?
Hi, I am having the same problem. For some reason I can't type *#1234* in the dialer (I can, but it doesnt do anything). My wifi stopped working a long time ago when I received official OTA to kitkat. I've tried flashing different kernels and roms, but no success. I tried flashing WiFi fix from the other thread, but it didnt work. BT and sound are fine.
ROM: 11-20141024-NIGHTLY-jflte
Baseband version I9505XXUFNC9
Kernel version 3.4.104-cyanogenmod-g52b4b50
I was thinking about flashing bootloader and modem+non-hlos XXUGNH8 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50965837&postcount=2627 - might this help?
Hi..im maybe late but my i9505XXSHQB1 5.0.1 Also have wifi and thetering problem..how cam i fix it
Yesterday I tried to upgrade my Galaxy S4 (Canadian, Telus SGH-I337M) to lollipop. I came here and installed the latest Cyanogenmod successfully using the posted instructions. Unfortunately, BlueTooth wasn't working so I decided to uninstall it.
I then thought I'd try CM11 via their auto installer. After taking the phone back to factory settings, I ran the CM installer and got CM11 installed instead. Except with that, my phone lost all audio. No phone communication, no rings, nothing.
So I tried going back to stock and I downloaded and installed the 4.4.2 stock ROM... expect now I have no wi-fi functionality, and a couple of other weird behaviors like very, very slow screen response.
The most likely answer I've found is that somewhere in this process, I flashed the kernel and now my kernel is incompatible with my ROM. I've found what I think is the right kernel, but I can't install it. All of the instructions say to use ODIN, but ODIN restricts me to putting specific file extensions in the box, but these files come as .RAR or .ZIP, and the contents of the archive don't have any of the allowed file extensions (i.e. .BIN files).
At this point, my priority is just getting a working phone again by any means necessary - I don't care whether it's a custom ROM or not, I just want functionality on all of my phone at once! I'm not computer illiterate, but at this point I've outstripped my troubleshooting capability.
Help?

Try installing the stock ROM a second time over the top of your first install of the stock ROM. For some unknown reason installation through Odin doesn't always result in a perfectly functioning device the first time around. Installing the ROM a second time however tends to fix things.
Did you download your stock firmware from sammobile.com?
The firmwares from that site should work fine in Odin.
I've gone through a few stock ROMs. The one I'm working with now seems to be the right one. It's I337M_TLS_I337MVLUFNI2_I337MOYAFNI2_Original.zip
SamMobile says those are the right ones, and I have installed it over itself... repeatedly!
I've done more trouble shooting now and I have issues regardless of what ROM (CM12 or stock 4.4.2) I install. The issues between the two are different in some regards but in either case, the phone is more or less toast!
- Phone calls are VERY slow to respond in both (when I try to make a call, even though I know I have no audio capability).
- No audio at all
- on Stock 4.4.2, no wifi
- Screen is slow to respond on stock, particularly when dismissing the lock screen.
- On CM12, Bluetooth and wifi can't be enabled simultaneously
- CM12 won't play videos (didn't try on stcok)
What have I done?!
Update:
Using a different file recommended by Sammobile (they have more than 1 listed for this phone on their site), and DLing it directly from them , I seem to have stock functionality back. Yaaa!
The most recent ROM (ending in FNI2) didn't work but when I went back to a build about 6 months older (ending in FNC1) that one worked out.
I guess the question then remains: What went wrong, and is there a ROM that should theoretically work for this phone?
Thanks!

You are flashing wrong CSC maybe. Solution:
1. Verify your CSC. Use this APP for know your real CSC. (Pic 1)
2. Go to Sammobile again and download the correct and latest firmware for your CSC.
3. Unzip and flash that firmware via ODIN.
4. Dial *#1234# and tell me what appears :highfive:

1. CSC shows:
Original CSC Code: TLS
Firmware's CSC Code: TLS
Active CSC Code: TLS
CSC Country: Canada
CSC Country ISO: CA
Product Code: SGH-I337ZKATLS
2. After a couple of OTA Updates overnight, the phone is now using firmware I337MVLUFNI2, which is the one I tried from SamMobile that failed, so I had to use a six month older build. which worked fine for some reason.
3. AP, CP, and CSC all show I337MVLUFNI2 now.
I'm now very reluctant to try any custom ROM on this phone after spending 30 hours worrying that I had bricked it! I tried about 5 different ROMs throughout this process that all had varying degrees of that same issue. Is the Canadian S4 SGH-I337M that much different from the i9505? Did I just screw something up royally? I'm happy that my phone is working now, but I'd still like to know what went wrong, or whether customs ROMs are an option for me.

If you dial *#1234# and appears this all is solved:
AP: I337MVLUFNI2
CP: I337MVLUFNI2
CSC: I337MOYAFNI2

Yes,
That seems to be the case, but should I have been safe in trying to install a custom Lollipop ROM? I'm kind of in a 'once bitten twice shy' state of mind now. I'd like to go to 5.0.2 but after this, I'm not so sure.

How you wish. But remember that Lollipop stock firmware for your device is a leak still or you can try with different custom roms. You will have BUGS. If the device was mine I will wait for the OTA updates but it's only my opinion. I'm not desperate for Lollipop :highfive:
