Rooting Tools For LollipopEdit: I reuploaded the Rooting_Tools_For_S5_Lollipop.zip as the md5 was not right if your md5 is not b3dc378a34c0551efe4925912bfa1a9c please redownload and delete the .1Stock_Firmware_Zip from your internal and external sd card and reflash zip
Here is every thing you need to use safestrap without odin. This zip will install the files need if you have to return to KitKat NCG to obtain root. It will also install the firmwares that can be flashed in safestrap so you will not need to use odin. This zip will also install Lollipop SafeStrap Recovery which will allow you to use safestrap without having to use odin to flash kernels and firmwares. I recommend using safestrap to flash for the simple fact if something goes wrong you can still have a chance of booting back to safestrap to reflash something as where using Flashfire if something fails there is a good chance you will have to odin back and start all over. For you who prefer Flashfire I still recommend installing safestrap just as a backup just incase flashfire fails. This zip will also install the Flashfire app

Instructions for rooting Verizon S5 on Kitkat Or Lollipop Roms Or If your Already Rooted On A KitKat Rom (If you took the OE1 OTA Update there is currently no root method available)
If already running a rooted kitkat rom with safestrap proceed to step 4
1. Download Odin_3.10.6.zip and install on computer
2. Download NCG_Rescue_Tar_And_NCG_For_Root.tar.zip and extract the zip into the odin folder
3. Download lates USB drivers for computer Found HERE and install to computer
4. Download these 3 zips and extract them and copy the folders containing the zips to your sdcard. They are not flashable because you but the zips inside the folders are flashable and are needed in safestrap later on. If your already rooted skip to step 19 after you extract these zips to your sdcard
Stock_Firmware_Zip.zip
Stock_Kernel_Zip.zip
RootS5.zip
5. Copy anything you don't want to get deleted to your external sd card as this process is going to wipe internal storage
6. Reboot Phone to Download mode by holding the power button+volume down button+home button all at the same time.
7. Open Odin on your computer
8. Plug Phone into computer.
9 Press Volume up button on Phone (if you havent already done so) and let odin find your phone. The ID:COM box will turn blue when its ready
View attachment 3411569
10. Click the AP Box in odin and locate the NCG_Rescue_Tar_And_NCG_For_Root.tar.md5 file (which you should have extracted in the odin folder) click on the file and let odin load it. It may take several minutes to load
View attachment 3411570
11. Once it has passed MD5 check the AP box will populate the file
View attachment 3411571
12. Click Start and wait for it to finish will take around 5 to 10 minutes to flash
13. When phone is finally booted up just skip through the setup wizard there is no need to add any accounts as the files you will need you already added to your phone sd card
14. Use the file manager and open the RootS5 folder on your Sd card and install
tr_v3.apk
Superuser.apk
BusyBox.apk
Safestrap-G900V-3.75-KitKat.apk
15. Once all are installed open Towel Root and click Make it rain box then open SuperUser and when it ask to update binary click update normally, then it will ask to disable knox click yes. This may hang if so reboot then open SuperUser again it will again ask to disable knox click yes and then it successfully disable knox.
16. Open BusyBox and grant SuperUser root request. Then click install
17. Open safestrap grant super user root request then install safestrap. Once installed click reboot to recovery inside the safestrap app. If it fails to reboot to recovery install safestrap again and then click the reboot to recovery button it should work this time
18. Now make sure you have the Stock_Firmware_Zip folder and the Stock_Kernel_Zip folder on your sd card both folders should contain 3 flashable zips files
19. Copy Rom to sd card
20. Reboot to safestrap flash rom once rom is flashed navigated to the Stock_Firmware_Zip folder and flash the firmware that matches your rom that you flashed and click reboot
Instruction to Use SafeStrap Without odin If Already on rooted lollipop rom
1. Flash Rooting_Tools_For_S5_Lollipop.zip
2. Open Lollipop SafeStrap Recovery
3. Click Install SafeStrap. It will open Safestrap App wait for the SuperUser Request and grant permission(This may take a few seconds be patient) once you grant permission you may have to go back and reopen the app. Then install SafeStrap. wait for safestrap to install then click install safestrap again(Sometimes on BOD5 firmware it takes 2 times to stick this is why I say do it twice)
4. Open Lollipop SafeStrap Recovery
5. Click on Recovery Reboot
6. Click The Flash Button Grant SuperSu Root Access
7. Click the Reboot To SafeStrap Box
8. Phone will Reboot to SafeStrap. (If for some chance it doesnt boot to safestrap you will need to use odin and manually flash one of the lollipop kernels below. Then once rom is rebooted install safestrap again and problem should be fixed)
9. To return to rom from Safestrap you will need to flash the the stock kernel matching your rom or if your flashing Firmware then just flash that zip there is no need to flash kernel if you flashed a firmware zip. The Firmwares only need to be flashed if the rom you flashed is a different firmware otherwise just flash the kernel. The Firmwares will be located on internal and external SD cards in a file called 1Stock_Firmware_Zip folder and the Kernels will be in 1Stock_Kernel_Zip folder They should be at the top of the list of folders
10. If a problem happens when flashing a rom and you bootloop you will then need to use odin to flash the NI2 Kernel then you can get back to Safestrap
Odin Flashable Tars if you need them
NCG_Rescue_Tar_And_NCG_For_Root.tar.zip
NI2_stock_kernel.tar.md5
VZW_BOC4_RETAIL_FIRMWARE_ONLY.tar.md5
VZW_BOC4_RETAIL_KERNEL_ONLY.tar.md5
VZW_BOD5_RETAIL_FIRMWARE_ONLY.tar.md5
VZW_BOD5_RETAIL_KERNEL_ONLY.tar.md5
VZW_BOE1_RETAIL_KERNEL_ONLY.tar.md5
Thanks

Did you unzip and load the md5 tar in odin? Are you on BOE1 firmware if so you can not flash older firmwares.

Yes, I just did this two or three days ago from stock oc4 in order to install AllianceROM. Follow the instruction in the first spoiler and it works like a breeze. All you need is an internet connection for towelroot.
Edit: I was trying to reply to a post in discussion but it won't quote the post, and I have too few posts to reply there

long time lurker, first time poster. All boils down, nothing works, especially with locked bootloader.
I stupidly took OG5 OTA update, now I lost my root and that also locked my unlocked bootloader! I had tried everything that I could find on this form and google, NOTHING. I even ran Linux on VM and created custom ROM to work with OG5, nada. It didn't work.
I ODIN'd my phone back to the OG5 OTA update.
Until someone finds the way, I am stuck with extremely bloated stock which I hate so much.

@jrkruse, I'm a little unclear on something here. Maybe I'm just dense, just ask my wife.?
I'm currently on rooted stock NK2, with SafeStrap, and if I understand correctly I need to flash the OG5 room, and the OG5 kernel. Since I'm already rooted, I don't need to run the RootTools zip, correct? Also, what about the bootloader? Did I miss something somewhere?

I am completely dumbfounded!!

OK,
So I have my Verizon Galaxy Note 3 and I just saw that geohot posted a quick and easy root!! awesome!! So I went to work, looked at eclipse ROM and thought...BACK TO MY GALAXY NEXUS DAYS!! Here is the issue...
Rooted and confirmed with towelroot...I made it rain...
SuperSU (chainfire) installed
SafeStrap 3.75 B04 Installed and bootable!
Busy Box installed
Now I downloaded the eclipse ROM and I was ready to flash to a ROM slot. good to go...anndd...black screen...So I figured I would make a Nandroid backup and just flash it to my stock slot...and...black screen? what gives?
I am running a running a retail Verizon note 3. I have the NC4 stock ROM running. At this point should I use Odin to flash the NC2 ROM? Could I just flash Eclipse? I need some help here.
At this point I have only tried flashing the eclipse ROM. Could I flash the NC2 ROM with Odin over my NC4?
***Update***
Posting live from my Eclipse ROM. For all of you Galaxy Note 3 NC4 Stock's out there. This is what I did in order to get here.
1.) Ensure you are on the 4.4.2 OTA Stock ROM.
2.) Do a quick Google and search towel root. You are going to have to allow APK's from other sources. Once you install Towel Root...MAKE IT RAIN!!!
4.) Do another google for Hash's "Safestrap 3.75 B04" Download the APK, install...AND DO NOT MAKE A RECOVERY YET!
5.) Head to the play store and download chainfire's "SuperSU". Install...but don't play with it just yet.
6.) Back to the play store to download busybox. Install and leave alone.
7.) Now here is where you need to pau attention...this is what worked for me.
a.) Head to SuperSU and install the NORMAL binaries...not CWM/TWRP!! Give the thumbs up to remove KNOX.
b.) Head back over to busybox and install
c.) Now we head over to Safestrap. Install your recovery and PUMP YOUR BRAKES!!!
9.) If this is your first time or you are a little unfamiliar your a little nervous...we have all been there...I got it. So you might softbrick your phone and freak out right? Let's go grab some insurance.
10.) Download Odin 3.07 and the Samsung drivers. Get Odin from XDA!! The links are posted as long as you search the forum.
( make sure you right click Odin and run as administrator)
11.) Next we need your insurance. Head on over to SamMobile. (Google it). Create an account...yes you have to. Find your Stock ROM 'NC4' and download. Once you have your Stock ROM save it to the desktop. Unzip you .tar file and leave it be.
### WE ALSO NEED THE NC2 KERNAL!!! Dig the forums and download the NC2 Kernal. Unzip on the desktop and you will have a .tar file...you WILL need this later.
12.) So what ROM to flash? Your choice. Head to the forums and pick out a 4.4.2 ROM to flash. Save it to the download folder on your phone. SDCARD is your internal!
13.) Next go ahead and power down your Note!!
14.) Safestrap will pop up and you and you should tap "recovery"
### Your on the "stock slot by default" so we need to backup our stock ###
15.) Press backup and swipe your backup!
16.) Next we need to head to boot options.
17.) Select ROM slot one.
18.) Partition your slot!
19.) Next activate slot 1! ( you should go from STOCK in RED at the top, to slot 1 in blue )
20.) Now we need to wipe...head to wipe And give it a slide...no advanced...just swipe!!!
21.) So we have a cleaned and wiped slot. Head over to install, and find your ROM we downloaded in the download folder. Swipe to install!
22.) Finished? Wipe the cache and dalvick for good measure.
23.) Next head to reboot on the main menu. Hit reboot and select DOWNLOAD. We need to flash the NC2 Kernal....almost done!!
24.) Open Odin and load your NC2 Kernal in the PDA slot...don't mess with settings...
25.) Once it is done loading...plug your note 3 and ensure you see a blue "COM4,5,6" whatever you have.
26.) Start...WAIT UNTIL IT SAYS PASS...YOIR DONE...ENJOY!!!
If you softbrick your phone, open ODIN...put your phone into download mode ( POWER+Volume Down+Home button ) press volume up to load custom, and flash that insurance NC4 stock ROM.
If you follow this lockstep you should be good to go!!

How long does it stay on the Verizon screen before booting into Eclipse?
**Update...never mind the question. I meant to say Eclipse screen. I was finally able to get it to boot up.
I have been modding phones for years. It has been about two years since I had a android device. I went to the dark side for awhile :/
It has taken me literally ALL day to get Eclipse up and running. I had to use odin to restore 3 times to get it to work...lol
Thanks for the tips!
**Update 2: I am not able to get LTE to connect after doing nc2 kernel flash. Any tips?
**Update 3: I was finally able to get LTE connect. However, my signal is much worse than prior to installing ROM. When I go to about on phone it still shows my baseband as being NC4. It does show my build number as being NC2 and SE for Android status is permissive. I guess flash of nc2 in odin was successful. Anyone have any thoughts on why my signal quality would be worse now?
When I try to go back to stock in safestrap it hangs at Verizon logo. I thought I would switch back to stock and check signal. No dice though.
Unable to mount /sytem and internal storage.

When I try to back up the Stock Rom I get the following error:
Updating partition details...
E:Unable to mount internal storage.
E:Unable to mount /external_sd during GUI startup
Full SELinux support is present
E:Unable to mount /external_sd/TWRP/.twrps when trying to read settings file.

E:Unable to mount internal storage.
Please help... I have a feeling that it has to do with not having correct root access. I did run into the problem of when installing binary's in SuperSU Its says Failed to install, but when I go to check in several different root checker apps they all say Its rooted. Is this the problem? If so would anyone happen to know how to fix it?
At the grocery store at the moment. I'll be back on to throw in my two cents.

I would recommend the following through my trial and error.
You should have done a normal backup not TWRP. If you have already done a titanium backup then just reset your phone to factory default. Go through above steps and male sure you re-root to be on the safe side. Make sure you are backing up the stock ROM to your SD Card and not your external SD Card. Make sure your ROM is on your external to throw on your stock slot. Back up wipe and flash

You could always reflash your stock ROM. I haven't checked in this thread for a while. Been moving etc. Glad to see my guide helped a little. I too spent a whole weekend on this. I thought that nobody should have to do this again. Hopefully this helping a bit.

ATT S3 Mini SM-G730A 4.4.2 Root Success

Please follow all the steps or you'll have bricked device
Step 1 :
This is the easiest way to enable USB debugging.
Dial *#0808#
Select last option, DM+Modem+ADB
YOUR PHONE MUST ASK FOR USB DEBUGGING AUTHORIZATION ! YOU MUST CHECK ALWAYS ALLOW FROM THIS COMPUTER AND THEN PRESS OK. IF YOU DO NOT GET THIS DO NOT PROCEED
Step 2:
Reboot phone into download mode
Select PDA slot in odin
And flash the tar file root kernel (you'll need to extract contents of rar file and rename file to boot.tar)
Your device will not have display but it will still be working, run saferoot.
Step 3:
Use saferoot thanks to k1mu, Surge1223, download is at the end of the post linked below
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48392009&postcount=1
After phone reboots for first time remove USB and enter download mode.
Step 4:
Select PDA slot in odin
And flash the tar file restore display kernel (you'll need to extract contents of rar file and rename file to boot.tar)
Step 5:
Install Supersu from market and open it. Continue with saferoot, that is waiting for the phone.
When flashing the root_boot.tar.md5 i get an error.
<OSM> MD5 hash value is invalid
<OSM> root_boot.tar.md5 is invalid.
---------- Post added at 03:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:12 PM ----------
nvm, I fixed it by removing the .md5 extension.
You're awesome! Thanks!
Nice work.
Looks like we're flashing 4.2.2's kernel, rooting, then flashing 4.4.2's kernel again.
I guess this also means there is the potential to downgrade back to 4.2.2 completely with mobile odin now...
Did you guys have any trouble getting SuperSU to update the su binary?
SU works, just prompts me to update the binary and fails.

You can downgrade to 4.2.2, just flash the stock bootloader first, then it will let you flash the ROM. I had to do it because I bricked at the 4.4.2 upgrade.

I have not been able to find the JB bootloader. It's out there? The ROMs on Sammobile don't include it... I had previously bricked trying to downgrade due to the locked KK bootloader.

Sorry, I misspoke. I don't know if it was the bootloader or something else. Check this out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55251936&postcount=18
Also, root works!
Someone want to explain how those two files could be flashed via ODIN?

From the SM-G730A.
"Root kernel" is simply the 4.2.2 stock kernel, which worked with Saferoot previously, and still does.
"Restore display kernel" is the stock 4.4.2 kernel you started with, you're just reflashing it after rooting.
I extracted boot.img from each ROM (4.2.2 and 4.4.2), created my own tar.md5 files and was able to root successfully also. I'm not sure why the ones in this post don't work with the md5 extension. It's a great idea.

It seems that the SuperSU version (2.01) that is currently (13/10/2014) on the Play Store is outdated. You need to do the following:
1) Download v 2.13 of Chainfire's SuperSU from his Google+ page (I cannot post the link here as I am a new user)
2) Extract the .zip file and find 'Superuser.apk'
3) Transfer 'Superuser.apk' to SD card of your phone
4) Open 'Superuser.apk' from your phone and install/update
5) After the installation/update is complete, open SuperSU and update binary (normal method)
Good luck. I just used this thread to root my Samsung SIII Mini (SM-G730A) from Fido. Working great so far. Thanks atinder! :good:
Great post
It's a great post, I would like thank az4x4runner and wisdom and all of you guys, if you do it step by step is a 123 solve for the ATT S3 Mini SM-G730A 4.4.2 Root :good::good::victory::victory:
I can confirm that I've rooted my G730A using the steps given and with the SuperSU apk provided. The first thing I did was bypass Kitkat's SD card limitations -- everything is now exactly the way I want it. Thank you all!
I need help. I tired to root my g730a and I followed all the steps and now my phone has a blank screen with the blue light on. How can I fix this? thanks!
-----------------------------------
nvm, I got it to work.
Recovery
Which recovery works for 4.4.2?
Will this work on Verizon SIII mini running 4.4.2? I successfully rooted my Galaxy Tab with Odin and it was easy as pie. This looks a lot more complicated and I have already tried TowelRoot, Saferoot, etc with no success.

Click to collapse
After flashing 1st boot.tar you say screen goes blank then run saferoot. After saferoot reboot will you have screen display again?

[Q] Just got a new S5... and it has OA8 preinstalled on it. And its not rooted.

Hi all,
Just got my fiance A Verizon S5... and it came with OA8. Unrooted. I've been on T-mobile since the G1 and have had pretty much every android phone with custom roms since then.
Just a quick question, what would be the fastest method to get this thing rooted? Should I downgrade, and if so to what verizon, root it, then use the keep root methods? I dont think I can find a way to Root OA8 directly, and I'm not sure WHAT version to downgrade to, to get root with, then to keep root on the Oa8.
Any Suggestions?

Flash the NK2 retail tar from here to downgrade (using Odin included in this same thread's root zip). You'll load the file in the AP slot of Odin, press Power+Home+Volume Down while starting your phone. Press Start.
Then just follow the instructions to root.
Just follow the guide linked below.....except since you are on Lollipop, Load the NK2 Stock ROM in AP slot, flash it, and boot up normal before moving onto Step #3.

Oh... forgot that after the NK2, you'll have to boot back into download mode on your phone and flash the NCG kernel only (included in the package), since safestrap doesn't work with NK2's kernel.
Hmm... any step by step?

Coming from Stock (UNROOTED) OA8:
Check here for downloads: [SOFTWARE GUIDE]***Odin Back To Stock***[Root Files] Retail Verizon S5 Firmware Files
1-Download ROM.zip, TowelRoot.apk and Safestrap.apk and put it on an External Storage
2-Put phone in download mode by holding volume_down + power + home_key
3-Put NK2 Full Stock TAR [G900VVRU1ANK2_G900VVZW1ANK2_G900VVRU1ANK2_HOME.tar] in AP Slot in ODIN and flash it
4-Put phone in download mode holding volume_down + power + home_key
5-Once phone boots into stock NK2, go back to download mode, put NCG Kernel [NCG Kernel Only] in AP Slot in ODIN and press Start
6-Once it boots, install and run TowelRoot.apk [Towelroot] and make it rain! Then install Busybox (I use Busybox Installer) from the play store and then install Safestrap.apk [Safestrap Recovery v3.75] and once installed open it and Install Recovery. Some have had to repeat the Busybox and SU install before it will ask to update SU and disable knox.
7-At this point you should be able to boot into SS Recovery and make a backup and do an advanced wipe of everything but your SD card
8-Flash ROM.zip of your choice to stock slot, press HOME and if you are using an Android 5 ROM REBOOT and select DOWNLOAD MODE
9-If it is a rom later than NK2, flash the appropriate Kernel for your device and Android version in AP Slot (PDA) in ODIN (AGAIN, DEODEX VERSION WILL TAKE UPWARDS OF 10-30 MINUTES ON FIRST BOOT ONLY)
For Android 5 ROMS, although Safestrap is still installed, you will have to flash NK2 kernel, do what you need to in SS and reboot to download mode, flash the Android 5 kernel and reboot the system.
i find the fasted method of rooting any device to be:
1) go to the general section
2) look at the stickies
3) click the one that says ROOT

[How-To] Update to G900P_OD3-5.0 and KeepRoot w/Knox(0x0)

**You can begin the following process from any Build/ROM but you must already have Root Access**
**Required** FlashFire - Play BETA - PREVIEW
1. Join the G+ community using the same Google account as you're using for Play on your phone/tablet Here.
2. Sign up to receive the BETA versions from Play Here.
- Use the link provided after sign-up to download the app.
Downloads:
- G900P_OD3_Stock_Rooted_ROM
Set your screen timeout setting to 10 mins before beginning!
1. Place the ROM onto your device (use either internal or ext-sdcard).
2. Open the FlashFire app and "Agree" to the Terms and Conditions.
3. Press "(+)" twice to bring up the "Actions" menu.
4. Press "Flash Zip or OTA" and locate and select the ROM. Leave "Auto-mount" unchecked under the "Options" menu and press the checkmark to continue.
5. From the main menu Uncheck all options under "EverRoot" and set "Reboot" setting to *"Download."
6. Press the lightning bolt then "Ok" to begin the **flash.
7. Once the flash is complete and the device reboots into "Download" mode, flash the G900P_OA6_Bootloader using Odin's PDA/AP slot.
*If you are already on the OA6 bootloader, set "Reboot" setting to "Normal" and skip Step 7.
**The screen will turn black then display the contents of your system before beginning the flash. FlashFire will pause for about 1 minute while flashing the "system" partition.
Once complete your device will reboot and pause on the Sprint splash screen for about 1 - 2 minutes before completely rebooting. Done!
Tip: for blazing fast speed turn off animations from Developer Options and reboot!
Known Issues:
- None!
Notes:
1. The above process will not affect your Knox Warranty Flag.
2. The process will update your Modem, Non-hlos, System, Kernel, and Stock Recovery to OD3. The ROM will not update your bootloader to OD3 in order to allow downgrading to previous firmware versions.
3. No need to wipe prior to flashing! The ROM will automatically perform a factory data reset.
4. If you do not already have root access (or to unbrick) you must flash the NE5 full Odin .tar using Odin's PDA/AP slot and root with TowelRoot, before continuing with the above process.
5. To learn more about FlashFire's capabilities on locked bootloader devices see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=60070810&postcount=2

2. The above process will update your Modem, Non-hlos, System, Kernel, and Stock Recovery to OD3 (for safety reasons and to allow for downgrading to NE5 the OD3 bootloader is not included. However the G900P_OA6_Bootloader is required for the ROM to boot).
3. No need to wipe prior to flashing! The ROM will automatically perform a factory data reset.
4. If you are currently unrooted and on a non-"Towelroot-able" firmware version you must a)downgrade to NE5 using Odin, b)root using Towelroot then proceed with the above process.

Since the ROM will not flash the OD3 bootloader you will be able to downgrade back to 4.4.2, however you will need to Odin flash the OA6 bootloader in order for the ROM to boot. As for sim unlock, I know nothing about how that works on this device.

Okay, can you check if I understood the process correctly?
1. I'm in stock OD3, not rooted so I need to root my device first. (Is root necessary? and do you know how to root OD3?)
2. Get flashfire app.
3. Copy G900P_OD3_Stock_Rooted_ROM to storage.
4. Flash using flashfire app.
5. Flash G900P_OA6_Bootloader using ODIN.
6. I can now downgrade to stock NE5 using ODIN. (can I use the one from sammobile.com?)
Can you check if I understood the process correctly? Thanks.

The point of this process is to keep knox (0x0). Twrp will trip the warranty bit so use towelroot. If you do not know what root is I suggest that you first do alot of reading before flashing anything.

Okay. Let me just clarify if I understood this.
The things that I need:
1. Flashfire
2. G900P_OD3_Stock_Rooted_ROM.zip
3. G900P_OA6_Bootloader.tar.md5
4. SM-G900P_NE5.tar
Process:
1. Flash G900P_OD3_Stock_Rooted_ROM.zip in flashfire.
2. Flash SM-G900P_NE5 .tar in ODIN. What will happen after I boot this?
3. Towelroot
4. G900P_OA6_Bootloader.tar.md5 in ODIN.
Can you check if I understood it right? Thanks.
Success but I have a question....
I successfully updated to 0d3 using this method. I was wondering if it is possible for me to downgrade if needed to 0A6? I .am rooted using odin and superuser.
Thanks in advance

Rooting Galaxy S4 and Baseband vNJ5

Hello All!
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4, SGH-I337, AT&T, Android 4.4.4, Baseband version I337UCUFNJ5. I just got this phone so am new to the forums. At this point, all I want to do is root it and install Safestrap, but also get this latest baseband (NJ5) version back. I have an NJ5 Stock Kernel file. After reading as many threads as I could find, is just rooting and installing Safestrap on this phone as simple as these following instructions (from: [GUIDE]Odin to Stock, Updating, Rooting, and Installing Safestrap) indicate?
STEP 3 - ROOT AND INSTALL RECOVERY
1. Reboot into Download Mode
2. In Odin, and flash NC1 Kernel file in the AP slot
3. Phone will reboot
4. Upload Towelroot and ss files to External SDcard
5. Go into Settings > More > Security
--- check "Unknown sources"
--- uncheck "Verify apps"
6. Open My Files app, browse to tr.apk, click it, and install.
7. Open Towelroot and click make it ra1n... You are now rooted!!!
8. Open My Files app, browse to Safestrap-JFLTE-3.72-kk-B01.apk, click it, and install.
9. Open Safestrap and click Install Recovery... You now have recovery!!!
10. Reboot into Download Mode
11. In Odin, and flash NJ4 Kernel file in the AP slot
12. Phone will reboot when complete... You are now Rooted on NJ4!!!
BUT....
instead of flashing the NJ4 Kernel (at step 11), can I flash the I337_NJ5_Stock_Kernel ?
I'd really appreciate any help anyone can give me on this!
