Getting a screen saying PwrReason: PWR_KEY_PRESS
Unlocked, was running Cyanogen7, wanted to go back to PiCrust. Was wiping battery stats, it took me out of the menu. I accidently went into some other menu and it formatted the phone... Partitioning or something?
Would like to get back to a working phone... I can get into RSD protocol, Fastboot. Recovery spits out an error.
Getting myself the fastboot/RSDLite/drivers again...
Any other guidance would be greatly appreciated...
1) Download CWM, either ROM Manager one (http://download.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0-olympus.img) or the romracer one on XDA, either will work
2) Download a ROM
3) boot in fastboot, fastboot flash recovery [the recovery you downloaded]
4) boot in recovery, wipe data and flash a ROM
w00t. almost my plan. I don't have an external card. So already got romracer flashed, but, i think, i'll have to fastboot the 4.5.91 stock rom....so it can format and setup my internal SD card. Then go to picrust. Shame I lost my Pi and Cy7 backups....
edit:
Whew. I thought i had lost everything on the internal sdcard. Once i got romracers cWM back on. and after it failed to flash 4.5.91, i looked around in CWM and was able to see my internal SDCard. Restored my Cy7 for now. My touchscreen was off, but I had backed up my PDS partition a long time ago, flashed that and it was working again.
Now the only "problem" is, on boot, I dont get the Motorola Logo. I instead get a command line style interface. It autoboots to OS in 5s, unless I pick something from the list (RSD,Fastboot, etcetc) Not a HUGE deal, but I hate seeing POSTs on my PCs, so I'd like to get that logo back..or if possible a custom logo?? Any ideas on that?
I have exactly the same problem, could you repair it?? I need to take my phone to de RMA and I have this, I dont know what to do. If you ydgmms or somebody else could give me some help it would be great.
Edit:I could just have installed a recovery but still getting the black screen with the letters.
I leave a screenshot.

P. S. I've "fried" my phone a couple of times since I got it, this one though I thought it was done. Took me 7 hours to figure out / repair. Good luck, it's fairly straight forward with the instructions in the thread.
And i also have this problem....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1212851

It looks like i need to restore the PSD (what is...??)...but of course i've not backed it up....!!!
Is there anyone that can help me.....??????????
Now i go to sleep....after 2 hours with deep troubles...!
Do you read what it says on posts before yours or do you just type your question & come back hoping for answers..?

I am shocked to see that our device is on the list of first batch official lineageOS support,

I am curious why no one is claiming the bounty for custom roms for V521.
O nice! Let's do this!

Anyone have a good workflow for flashing? I'm rooted, stock 7.0 , unlocked with TWRP installed. Are we just needing to wipe data , and flash the ROM along with Gapps?
For anyone that has installed, does LineageOS retain the expanded desktop feature (immersive mode) that CM had?
The biggest reason for me staying on MM is for Xposed Framework, and a module that forces apps to hide the status bar. With expanded desktop I would have no problem ditching Xposed and upgrading to 14.1 on this tablet.
EDIT: Found this for upgrading, not sure if it is relevant to us -->https://www.reddit.com/r/LineageOS/comments/5qhers/correct_procedure_for_updating_from_cm130_to/

I'm using it and it's really smooth. Not sure if anything is broken in the first build though. Haven't gotten a chance to test out bluetooth or LTE.

Which gapps did you use? I've tried both the Arm64 7.1 nano and pico from opengapps.org and they are both giving me an error 64 when flashing. I was able to flash the ROM just fine.
EDIT: figured it out. I though the 617 was 64bit. I was able to flash just the Arm (non-64bit) pico's just fine.
Also did you flash the root zip?
Only issue I've seen so far is it seems like the screen randomly shuts off. Like it seems to coincide with me tilting the tablet maybe.
EDIT: Sadly I found the answer. It seems to be the magent in my case. Never had the issue with stock. It's one of those smart covers ones

Yes you just want to use regular ARM 7.1 gapps. I have used root zip and it seems to work just fine. I have not noticed any kind of screen randomly shutting off, you sure its not double tap misfiring?

The cpu inside is 64 bit but LG is too lazy to put 64 bit android on it. So our device has 32 bit os with a 64 bit cpu.
It's not simple to convert 32 bit os to 64 bit os because we also need to modify bootloader and other proprietary parts to 64 bit, which is nearly impossible.
Our device doesn't have a dedicated smart cover sensor, but have one regular magnet field sensor.
A dedicated smart cover sensor is some kind of a magnet sensor at a designed location and sensitivity.
The problem may be the developers are trying to use the regular magnet field sensor as the smart cover sensor, but it's not perfect due to non-ideal sensor location and sensitivity.

Know of any way to disable it?
I've been running this since last night. So far it's been great. One issue I've had is not being able to use the built in file explorer to copy/paste internal and sdcard storage. Even trying to run it as root give errors. That's the only real issue I've had.
The magnetic sensor is VERY sensitive and the screen shuts off easily with a magnetic case (even with the case open).
Back when this device was first rooted I unlocked the boot loader and installed TWRP for some reason I cannot get my device to boot into recovery. When I try from ADB the device reboots and shows the normal "this device cannot be checked for corruption" screen and hangs. I tried to flash the newer version of TWRP with the same result. Any suggestions of what else to try?

Strange. Have you tried booting into recovery via the hardware buttons?
Turn the power off.
Press and hold the Power + Volume Down key on the right side of the device until the LG logo is displayed.
Briefly release only the Power key when the LG logo is displayed.
Quickly press and hold the Power key again.
Release all keys when the Factory reset screen is displayed.
Press the Volume keys to highlight Yes, and then the Power key to select factory reset.
Press the Volume keys to highlight Yes, then the Power key to start the reset.
Hey could anyone help me out? Back when I rooted this tablet at the end of November, I installed the TWRP version from the TWRP thread. I don't know what it is about this version, but I have never been able to mount or format external SD cards or OTG USB's.
I'm trying to flash the new LineageOS, but I can't because I can't get the table to friggen mount my external storage!
Anyone have any ideas? Months ago someone said I needed to point TWRP to the mount point, but I have no idea how to do this...I've searched through all of the settings and options.
Thanks!

I can't even get that far. I am unable to even click on the external drives. TWRP sees them, but I can't select them.
If I try and wipe, format or partition them it returns error 2. I'm sure because they are not mounted, so they are unavailable, and it fails.
I've tried formating in my computer with ext4 and fat32. Still won't mount.
I may try and flash TWRP again. Since I sounds like not everyone has this issue. I have seen at least 2 others that have though.
EDIT: apparently selecting "install" option allows me to then select the OTG, and it mounts...Not in mount, not in wipe, not in partition, and not in file manager. But as soon as I choose the install option it mounts. Boy I could have saved a lot of time if I new about this quirk haha.

Flashing LineageOS tonight, my v521 crashes instantly at reboot. The screen flashes and then shuts off immediately.
Fortunately I made a nandroid backup way back when I first rooted it back in November.
Not sure what went wrong. I flashed it again to make sure, and it crashes.

Nope, No Go. I am able to get to the factory wipe screen and go through the motions but the screen freezes and the device is not wiped. I think that I need to use the LG tool and return to stock and start over.

Do you do a wipe all data when flashing?
Did you come from 6.0 or 7.0?
EDIT: I see from your post in a different thread you were on 6.0
I was on stock 7.0. Used dirtycow to root and install TWRP. TWRP did not mount data and other partitions, so I wasn't able to flash lineageos. Used flashify to flash lineageos and opengapps. Flashed ok, then when starting to boot, saw enter pin to decrypt (except I didn't create a pin, so didn't have it). I was finally able to factory reset and wipe data after playing around in TWRP. Now, I still can't boot into lineageos.. it boots straight into TWRP everytime. Tried reflashing and wiping, still same. Any suggestions?
I tried the nightly. I will retry with experimental.
You can use adb sideload to install your lineage zip.
Place the zip in your adb folder on your C drive.
While in Twrp connect to your computer, then follow the directions detailed in the original post, instead of supersu, change your command to reflect the name of your lineage zip file in your adb folder .
Worked for me. On first boot, put superuser on your main SD card (you will have to enable developer options and allow the new adb key) and then change the USB connection to file transfer instead of USB charge only) ,
boot back into twrp and flash the supersu zip that is on your Main SD card for root.
The current Twrp 3.0.2.0 does not work with 7.1.1 to see the other drives(external, other etc.).
We will need an update to 3.0.2.2 at some point for those on 7.0 like the V500 has available.
Hi, guys.
Today, my OP5 decided to troll me. I was using normally him, when suddenly it started to lags pretty bad. I restarted and he continued to lags and freeze. I made a wipe cache via stock recovery (i didnt made any change at all in it, no unlocked bootloader, no root). That's when my nightmare begins. It begins to bootloop. Sometimes i was able to start the boot animation, but then it just restarts to the beginning. I tried a lot of tips, wiping cache, system, etc. Then, i left it charging. When i tried to turn on again, it worked like nothing ever happened to him. I made a backup of my personal data fast, scared to him suddenly restart again. After that, i decided to made a Factory Reset, clean up everything. When i did it, he started the lag and freezes again. I was at lost. That's was when i decided to use the official unbrick tool, to make the cleanest OP5 ever possible. I grabbed the archives from this link and followed this tutorial. When i was executing the programa, in the userdate.img, he showed a error. When i saw it, i just stopped and closed the program. Now, my OP5 is hardbricked. The only sign of life that i get from him is when i connect him at the PC. I can identify it as qualcoom 9008, but when i try to run the program, he just fail and show me error 258.
Plz, i need some orientations. I have been read things for about 10 hours and didnt found a solution. I live abroad for any oneplus tech center, and i believe, for the other posts that i read, that online tech support wouldn't help me a lot. I really don't like to make this kind of post but i am kind of desesperate. I dont have money to afford another phone
Again, sry to disturb you all. Sry if i broke some rule of the forum too. And sry for my bad english, i hope that i was able to communicate right.
EDIT: I just tried in another computer. Same error appears. :'(
Hummm why follow a Unbrick Topic with tools for ...3T ?
Maybe you have a encryption problem, all your Tools/Topic are so old for the actual versions (Oreo 8.X OOS / 8.1 OOS)
I advise to you (in the first time), to flash this TWRP (using fastboot, very simple) just follow this guide : here
If you can flash TWRP, your phone is not bricked, you will boot in TWRP:
- Format Data > tape "yes" > Reboot in TWRP
- Copy/Past xXx 10.0 ROM to test, install and xXx Rom will fix/install for you the best OOS Custom ROM for your OP5 with a great Aroma Installer.
If TWRP with this rom work perfectly, you wil able to restore a official stock OOS for sure, just flash original/stock recovery (fastboot), wipe all data/partitions, install your OOS rom and it's fine
I think @cidsantiago says they bootloader isn't unlocked.
He needs to know that unlock the bootloader implies lost all /sdcard data and also installed apps and settings) before start the TWRP install process...

You loss the settings and downloaded apps but not requires to unlock the bootloader.

Don't worry though, it happens to plenty of people. It happened to me as well, and everyone eventually fixes it. It is unlikely that it is a hardware problem, so just following the correct steps should get it working. Keep trying stuff out, it's very good that your computer recognizes it as a qualcomm port, as far as I know that's all you need to flash the necessary things in order for it to boot.

I think your best option is to RMA the device through OnePlus. Since you haven't rooted it or anything, they should repair it for you.

Just curious if anyone had problems with Android 7 and USB and Fast Charging, and Android 9 help resolving these type of USB interface problems?
Fast Charging and USB interfacing have been dead for a while, I used to connect my Moto X to my PC/Mac, external micro-usb thumb drive, and speed charging all worked. Now charging takes 3 or 4 hours and USB interfacing with anything is no-longer happens. Note, last battery replacement I also swapped female Micro-USB port (btw...not easily done) thinking physical connections were bent/broken, but this did not help and would love some insight from anyone who may have similar problems.
Maybe time to replace my 5 year old phone and thanks for the feedback, Sorli

No I haven't done anything to it beside original Moto X updates of firmware and Android 7. Still native with nothing extra.

Not stock...there are two people working on 9 (and someone new working on 10), but I'm running Lenovo's stock Nougat that works except as noted with my fast charging and USB interfacing (that no longer work for me).
you might want to try using this guide and doing a factory reset when done see if problem still persists.

I will and thanks for the link and reference information!
no problem just be careful man you don't get a power outage during fast boot flashing your phone.
I just copy all the files in one folder hold shift and right click open in command prompt with administrator privileges with ADB packages and as quickly as possible to copy and paste each code from the instructions. also look up fast boot commands. you got to detect your phone first etc just be careful man.
Hey folks. I am seriously stumped and I can't figure this out.
I want to install Android 10 on my 6P. I figured I would have to root it first. I installed TWRP 3.3.1.0-FBE-10-angler.
I successfully did OEM Unlocking.
I Pushed Beta-SuperSU-v2.67-20160121175247 and it seemed to install fine.
I reboot and its not there. It should be in the apps, but its not. What am I missing? Should I do Magisk? This is new for me and once I get it, I won't have to ask again.
I also have the PixelExperience_angler-10.0-20200101-0925-OFFICIAL. I have not installed this yet, but this is the image I want, I believe.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thank you

I was still stuck on the earlier problems. Before I went in and completely destroyed this phone, I wanted to make sure I was not missing something fundemental.
Also, for some reason the phone always pops out of data transfer mode. Do you think its my USB C cable that's losing the connection?

You can follow this video for detailed installation ( keep in mind if you aren't a BLOD user so you just skip flashing 4 core files )
Another issue: I installed TRWP and I was able to get into TRWP just fine. But, if I reboot and go into recovery I get the robot on his back with the triangle over it. I have reinstalled TWRP 3 times, but this keeps happening. Before I install a new ROM, I think I should know why this is happening and how to fix it.
Thanks again!
