[Q] Tethering android device with vpn configured - Networking

Hi everyone,
I had a question, is it possible Tethering another devices to Android with vpn configurations?
Example:
I have a PS Vita who need access certain region, at the moment I am using a very complicated configuration
Current configuration: Mobile carrier > USB tethered android device > PC, VPN Shared with USB Wireless > PTP Bridge to PS Vita,
then I wanted to try to simplify the condition become
Mobile carrier > VPN configuration on android > WiFi tethered android device > PS Vita
which wifi tether on android is already included in the VPN network, so that it can access the ps vita target region, so I could access the region anywhere without PC.

Tether and Multihomed Host

Hello All,
I am able to tether my device to my laptop and have no problems when not connected to another network via my internal network interface.
I was wondering what the proper TCPIP configuration would be to support using my tethered device to access the internet from my laptop at work (to avoid the corporate proxy), but still allow me to using my work network resources.
Currently, when I tether, I have to disable my laptop NIC. I think I am having a problem with my default gateway settings.
Thanks in advance.

[Q] how to make free internet through useb cable or bluetooth in htc hd?

hi to all:)

so any one help me for that?

Use activesync on phone and Windows mobile device center on pc. Presto.
i have windows xp and only the program which run in it is activesyne
and windows mobile device center can not run on xp
so any other program please?
Free though for advanced users: share your internet connection using WiFi ad-hoc connection.
I
Using Usb connection:
I don't have a big experience with the active sync, but it might have some configuration on that that allow the external devices to use the pc's connection. Beside that, configure your internet connection to be shared.
If you choose the wifi to connect the PDA to Pc to do that, it could work fine, but be sure to use a WEP encryptation, as the XP doesn't recognize newer security protocols, as WPA and furthers.
In both cases, configure your PDA to access the internet via "My work network". the way is: settings -> connections -> Network (or connections again, depending on the Windows mobile that you use) -> Advanced tab -> Select Networks.
Good Luck!
Stay in peace!
make sure "advanced networking" (or something like that) is enabled in activesync settings

How to tether Dezire Z to Win7 laptop?

I have a laptop connected to hotel internet via ethernet cable (Samsung Q330). I'd like to tether my Desire Z to it to share the internet connection (via either wireless or USB).
When I connect the phone to the laptop via USB, and select Internet Passtrough mode, the phone cannot connect to the internet.
In the Network sharing settings on the laptop, ICS settings I've checked the "Allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection" box.
What else do I need to do to share the laptop's internet connection with the phone?
Get rid of all of that and install these (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ERN22YCO) drivers.
and enable tethering on your phone via settings>wireless and networks>tethering & portable hotspot
viola!

That looks like a way of sharing the phone's internet connection with laptop -it's the reverse that I want to do (i.e. use the laptop's connection on the phone). Have I misunderstood?

Setup a connection in your win 7 and hook up your phone to that particular network, similar to vpn, where you can connect a handheld to the connection and that connection routes you to internet.

In principle that's what I'm trying to do, but it's the specifics of how to set up the connection in Windows 7 that I was struggling with. Could anyone offer specific advice on what settings are required?
Create an Ad-Hock. This would be pushing your labtop connection out of its WiFi so that your phone can hook up to it.
Open Network and Sharing Center > Setup a new connection or network > Setup a wireless ad hoc
Make the name and security... Bla Bla Bla
U can connect your phone to it now.
Next go back to Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings
Double Click on "Local Area Connections" (Your Ethernet Adapter Properties) > Sharing (Tab)
[Check] Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection
Think thats it. Been awhile and im providing this info off the top of my head.
Also if you say want to send your wireless net to your ethernet:
Skip the adhoc part and just go to Adapter settings, pick wireless and enable sharing.

.
check wifi config
go to settings>wireless and network settings > tethering and portable hotspot> then enable wifi hotspot
and in portable wifi hotspot settings press configure portable wifi hotspot then change password to what ever you want the put the same pass in your laptop and it should work
if it doesn't just go to settings>wireless and network settings > tethering and portable hotspot>then enable USB tethering and connect your phone to laptop via usb and it should work

Open VPN - no access to home network

I recently bought a new Asus router that allows me to use it as an Open VPN server.
Installed the Open VPN GUI/Apps on both Windows and Android devices, and both platforms were giving me full access to my Home network.
However, while the Windows devices still work 100%, all my Android devices are now barred from entering my Home network (though they allow general internet access through the server just fine).
Any ideas what's gone wrong on the Android side of things?
Thanks.
How are you connecting to your VPN server? Are your Android devices connected via wifi etc or are they using cellular networks to connect via your WAN
It sounds to me like a routing issue, for example your local network could be 192.168.1.0 and your VPN 10.0.0.1, so if your android device is connected via the 10. network unless routed it wouldn't know how to access your 192 network.
This seems like a similar issue, maybe you can find more help here: https://forums.openvpn.net/viewtopic.php?t=21311
Thanks for the reply, which I've only just had a chance to look at.
I can't get inside my network by neither cellular or wifi.
I'll have a good look at the link you've posted and report back.
I'm very much a network newbie and this has been very frustrating as it worked when I first set it up and now it doesn't, in spite of router factory resets.
