Before the KitKat update my LG G2 had really good battery life doing everything I'm doing now .. Using action launcher pro .. Watching kids browsing web etc and having NFC Bluetooth location off etc.. My phone did get really fast with KitKat though anf the UI works really fast despite looking really bad .. So my screen on time for a whole day is only 4 hours and thats 2-3 hours less .. My phone idle and standby are both at 10% and for some reason Bluetooth says its using the battery even though I'm not using it at all it says 5-6% used for Bluetooth .. So annoying.. Also I never rooted or did anything fancy with this phone And everything works fast but its the battery life That's annoying me .. If anyone could help fix this issue if they know why its happening that'd be great.

Bluetooth battery drain is known issue. Some have their battery life gimped while others see the Bluetooth usage and don't see a change in battery life. In my case Bluetooth was 15-18%. My screen on time was halved from 7-9 hours to 3-4 hours. I reverted back to 4.2.2 and the phone is behaving normally again. I have the update notification in my status bar but I'm not taking it. Hopefully google takes care of this issue soon.

Yes I agree I was waiting for the update for a long time (had this since October) and when it comes its bugged :/ .. Right now I'm trying to use the battery saver mode and its only slightly improved it but still far from what I had on jelly bean .. Also tried a lot of apps for battery saving and did not come at any ones that worked.. I rather stay on 4.4.2 because its just so fast and as smooth as my nexus 7

It just comes down to if you want your phone to be a little bit faster and have terrible battery life or if you handle 4.2.2 being a little bit slower (we're talking milliseconds here) and have awesome battery life. I chose the latter bc battery life is one of the reasons I purchased the phone.

So if there was a patch coming I would get a notification for the small update to fix it .. That would not become 4.4.3 I think .. Or do I go back to 4.2.2 and wait for a lg to announce its updated and patched 4.4.2

Kitkat killed battery life. Used to be great, now it sucks.

KitKat didn't kill battery life. Mine is about the same as it was before KitKat. In about 99.999% of the time an app is to blame. I have a simple but arduous method to find the app that's killing your battery.
I agree the battery has taken a hit. I used to ave about 9hrs of screen on time, now about 6hrs. I also have the chromecast issue. Strange thing is that sometimes the screen doesnt even show up In the battery stats. Sometimes the usage time doesnt change when it shows in battery stats. I am stock, 32gb white US model updated with Kies. I have done many factory resets. I have tried it for 2 days without installing any apps or disabling any samsung bloat, with no change in the tablest behavior.

Kitkat sent my note into fits. Battery life was terribly erratic at first. Dropping 30% in an hour, then suddenly jumping back up by 10%.
I tried factory reset.... nothing changed. Then I used the Battery Callibration app from playstore. Ran it and followed instructions exactly. (Waited til it was charged 100%, then run the program, then completely drain battery, then let it charge continuously back up to 100%).
Go figure............ since then things have calmed down and I am getting the same battery life as on my old Jellybeans note. (I know, because I've got two of these tablets and literally compared them side by side.)
Or, it could also be that after firmware upgrade things need a bit of time to settle down. Hope this helps.

Yeah, I am used to android taking a bit to settle in. After my note 3 updated, it seems like it took a month to get back to my "normal". I hope the tablet does too, just frustrating in the mean time
Mine settled down after about 3 days and several resets. Now the battery seems comparable to pre-KitKat.
I don't think it is kit Kat. I'm running kit Kat and easily see 9 hours of screen on. It is most likely an app you have installed that is doing it.

Then not everyone would then mention that it is not change or improved (in stand-by).
No, normally a app or bad file on the sd-card is killing here the battery. All tools to find this out, are already mentioned here. Good luck.
4.4 in and of itself isn't causing poorer battery life. In fact, owners of other devices are reporting improvements. The Exynos N3 for example. There aren't any battery life issue threads on the Pro forums and they have the same h/w and we're most likely using their 4.4 drivers and kernel. There are threads like this in every device forum when an Android version upgrade is released. It's almost always due to a bad flash or a rogue app or service. That and older apps that haven't been updated in ions and aren't playing well with the new OS. People here have reported shorter charging time and longer battery life. So what's being discussed isn't universal. I'd suggest doing a stock recovery and reviewing older apps and those that aren't developed by known and larger developers.
I have a Shield and S4 too. For every poster raving, there seems an opposite view on battery life and the SD card issue.
The SD issue makes battery life debates moot. Google has an Apple wannabe syndrome. Perhaps they will rebrand as Goople.
You can recalibrate the battery by running it down below 20% then recharging. I have seen it recommended to do this every 30 days or so.
My Note 3 with KitKat started using 20-30% of the battery at night while it was idle. Looked and looked and couldn't find a clue to the problem. Decided to reboot, the next night it was fine, used maybe 2-3%

I did have charging problem and battery drain right after KK update. I have to do the Factory Data Reset. Luckily my tablet is back to normal if not better. I did spend sometime go thru all setting. So I managed to get 4 hrs of screen time with moderate use and I still have about 59% of battery.
So I say kk is good or better then jellybean

I don't have this issue but maybe affected people should read this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=52366635&postcount=236
I updated a couple days ago and since then my battery just sucks. It just went from 100% to 29% in 2 hours just using Youtube. It can't be right. Definitely it's the upgrade!!
I loved my Note 10.1 2014 out the box that I decided not to root. So it's factory stock and suck very bad.
If it's a bad app I can find it. It worked flawlessly before the upgrade.
Factory reset and see if it still happens. A dirty flash can do weird stuff...

After flashed the NCB .690 FTF file and used it extensively in the last 3 days, I have to sadly say it is a piece of sh*t! Other than the washed out theme that comes with Lollipop, these are just a few of the major problems that I have found:
- The auto rotation does not work most of the time. For those who wants to see it themselves, download the Words on Tour and try rotate the screen to play.
- It takes 17 hours to charge from 14% back to 100%, (yes, that means I can only use it every other day) In the 4.4.4 I had, it took only 7 hours, so I could always charge it fully during the night.
- It takes 7 hours to totally drain from 100% to 14%, I did not change my use pattern, and before when I was in 4.4.4, I used to have 8-9 hours. Was it supposed the 5.0.2 last at least 90 minutes longer?
- It is much slower too, you don't have to take my word for it, try open the Album or Photos to load a folder with 3,000 pics on your SD Card. (I have a 128GB SanDisk MicroSD that I have been very happy with its performance)
- If you are like me, using Apex or Nova Launcher, it is significantly slower when loading its settings. It was not like that at all.
I am going back to 4.4.4 with root. If you have fix for the problems I have, please share with us.

Auto rotation seems to work for me. At least with the apps I have. The words game I believe is set to "portrait", but not using it under KK, I can only guess. Some apps are hard coded (guess they didn't think tablets would use them)
Charging seems normal. About 1.5hr or so to charge it 25% back to full.
Stock Gallery seems to be ok (400+ photos and some videos)
Jury still out on battery life.
As with performance, I can see no difference from KK, Antutu rates it the same at 42k.
A lot of this could be with using an older kernel. I suspect Sony is going to wait a couple weeks to see how the initial OTA goes. Acer did the same process. Hopefully they'll build an updated kernel when they really push things.

No idea why you are having these problems.
I am much more pleased with 5.0.2 in comparison to 4.4.4 which had utterly atrocious battery life, and was just plain ugly.
I get a full charge in an 2 hours (5% to 100%), and am very happy with the battery life.
I would highly recommend upgrading.
SGP521 here. Bought it yesterday and immediately after turning on tablet received 2 OTAs - first to .167 and then to Lollipop.
No problems noticed so far. Since i own Z3 Compact, i am already familiar with Sony's implementation of Lollipop. Very nice.

So I just got the update notification on my 4G Tab S2 region code XID (Indonesia). F/W is on SamMobile as well, and would have installed it if my battery wasn't running low. Will report back soon!
so far it is exactly what I expected - GS7 software on a tablet. Great battery and none of the performance issues the first gen Tab S had when first receiving Lollipop.

Battery definitely drains faster in this update. It would take me 7-10mins for me to lose 1% of battery life in Lollipop. But now it would take me 3-5mins to lose 1% of battery life. I'm considering right now to go back to Lollipop to be honest, I can't stand this battery performance.
Other changes I've seen was the boot, it uses the S7 boot animation and there wasn't a boot startup sound.
Are many still waiting for the update?
Is everyone experiencing the rapid batter drain.
No update here.

I upgraded from nexus 7 to the T715Y galaxy tab s2 8". Solid device, battery performance less than optimal, software updates non existant. The nexus still gets monthly security patching and got the android 6 OTA update in short order. Now 18 July and despite indonesia, panama, phillipines and other neighbours in asia having this update, still no word from Samsung. Tried Kies, side sync and OTA update button mashing... nothing.
In fact Kies said there was an update, which i installed, wiping my tablet to get .. you guessed it, the same darn version i had. 5.0.2. Would recommend the tablet if not for the lack of security and software updates.
Still waiting in Australia
Edit: finally got it about a week ago
Hello,
So I've been wanting to downgrade back to android 4.4.4 mainly for better battery performance, because ever since it went 5.0.1 and up the battery went downhill fast. However, I've been reading that the N910C got a locked bootloader after android 5.1.1, is there anyway to downgrade the bootloader so I could downgrade to android 4.4.4?
Thank you in advance!

Make sure the new battery is purchased direct from Samsung or a reputable carrier, or get a Powerbear or Anker. Lots of fakes/cheap rubbish about.

I went all the way from 4.4.4 to 6.0.1 update by update as they were rolled out, every single update it got worse and worse, 5.0.1 was just obnoxiously terrible, then 5.1.1 kinda bit better compared to 5.0.1 but still crap, 6.0.1 brought in Doze, but that didn't seem to affect anything too much, so pretty much from 5.0.1 forward, battery is just stupidly terrible, I charge the phone 3 times a day on average...
