Has anyone seen a prerooted FTF File yet?
I need one and not a flashable *.zip after bricking DualRecovery and flashing a Stock FTF.
I don't think I have ever seen a prerooted FTF... just flash one of the old exploitable FTF files using flashtool and then use geifroot etc to install recovery, and then use recovery to flash something like:

Doesn't take long
Ok. Thx.

I want to play around with framework-res.apk but I keep getting bootlooped. I heard that I can fix the problem without having to flash the whole ROM and consequently losing my data. How do I only flash system.img?
Via fastboot, same way as you root phone with Bin4ry's image.
Or with FlashTool, flash only system.sin and loader.sin.
Do I extract the system.sin from the .ftf file? How? I used Gingerbreak to root so I'm not familiar with Bin4ry's method.
I did this myself... you need to get the ftf file for your rom and open it with 7zip or similar.. then extract system.sin and loader.sin put them into a directory. load flashtool. and create a new package in there containing these two files, then use flashtool to flash them to your phone... reboot..done..

No..you need unlocked bootloader to use fastboot flash..

In other words, you cannot make a ftf with root. Only signed ROMs can be loaded with Flashtool.
HI everybody
I updated my n910H to 5.1.1 , worked well and decided to flash a custom kernel . also faced to problem with wifi and now i decided to flash my original kernel.
i extracted the boot.img from update package N910HXXU1COH4_N910HOLB1COH4_N910HXXU1COH3_HOME.tar
now, im not sure how to flash it !! via odin or anything else needed
thank u for your help
any help ?????
when I had my S3 if I needed the stock kernel I would simply reflash the stock rom since they usually have the stock kernels built-in

Never tried with samsung phones (and probably it is not possible) but with my other android devices I just extract the boot.img from the ROM and flash it with fastboot using the command "fastboot flash boot boot.img".
With a samsung device you should probably (or definitely) create a flashable .zip file with the boot.img of your stock ROM and flash it via recovery.
You need to download your original kernel from net, there are 2 types of file you’ll find, one is .zip and another one is .tar. If you download .zip file you have to flash it with recovery (CWM/TWRP) or if you download .tar file (don't try to make your own .tar file) then you can flash it with Odin tool.
Hello Canada. I'm on Rogers and updated a few days ago to the new 6.01 Marshmallow ROM. I have root. Seems to be not much development work on our device, the G900W8, wanted to try some custom kernels and see if they would work but they all seem to be for the 900F. I'm interested in battery life improvements.
So I wanted to get a stock kernel I could flash in case something goes wrong and it won't boot, or if I just don't like the kernel. Some custom kernels require you to flash from stock rather than other custom kernels.
So how do we get things like kernel and radio out of our new G900W8 download? The download I have from Rogers is G900W8VLU1DPD3_G900W8OYA1DPD3_G900W8VLU1DPD3.
Use 7zip to open archive the stock rom. Then extract boot.img. IMG files can flash via TWRP.
Did some searches, seems like Flashify will do it. Gonna give it a try.

Thank you. I grabbed the file boot.img from the downloaded Rogers ROM file and copied to my PC. It has a file size in Windows Explorer of 12319. I also used Flashify to extract it, copied it to the PC, it has a size of 13,312. Wonder why the size difference?
Is there a way to just flash the RADIO image from the US rom?
Xperifirm downloads these weird files for the rom, and I can't find any guides how to extract the radio image (.img) from them ....
I am pretty sure when you use Flashtool to flash an ftf you can exclude what you want for the flash.
So if you want the US firmware radio then use the US ftf and exclude everything except for the baseband before you flash. I'm not sure if this will work but its worth a try.
Hi,
Having a hard time finding the latest (assume 21s?) firmware files i can flash. I know theres a full stock flashable zip but afaik I can't flash the bits I need from that. Anyone got the relevant files?

There is not big rom on X727 after firmware 5.8.019s, just OTA update. If you are on Locked bootloader / Stock Recovery you can download the update 21s and flash it via Update App.... Or rename de ota file to "update.zip" and flash it on Stock Recovery (Power + VOLUME +).
If you want a 21S or 23s complete Rom, you must to unlock bootloader and flash Custom recovery, then you can flash a 21s like VillarLeg o Mauro v2.2 23s... Good luck!
