Now, why would this be of interest to us custom flashers here on XDA? Well, I think it would make it easier/possible to make a flashtool for the Mac. Since we already have versions for Windows and Linux, it can't hurt to have it for the Mac right?
Sending to Bin4ry and Androxyde!
Here's their statement (for those too lazy to click the link ).
Are you a Mac user?
…then you might have already noticed that during the autumn we have released a new Mac OS application: ‘Sony Ericsson Bridge for Mac’ for our Xperia™ smartphones.
This great application lets you seamlessly connect your Xperia™ phone to your Mac computer. With a few clicks, you can fill your Xperia™ smartphone with new media – Music, Movies, TV Shows, Podcasts and Playlists – by syncing with iTunes™.
Bridge for Mac is also designed to help you free up the memory of your Xperia™, by moving your photos and videos to iPhoto™, so that you can capture even more precious moments!
If you are not an iTunes™/iPhoto™ user, you can sync your Xperia™ content with folders on your disk or just simply drag and drop any type of files between your Xperia™ phone and your Mac.
Cool eh? There is more! We have some more exciting news to share with you, especially for those who in the past have raised the question “I’m a Mac user, how can I update my Xperia™ phone using my Mac?”.
We’re happy to announce that the Bridge for Mac will introduce SW update functionality in the coming release 2.0. Those of you who have previously used our Windows software, PC Companion, will recognize the SW update experience in Bridge for Mac: connect, get notified, accept and update!
Great news! Now what do I have to do, to put my hands on this Bridge for Mac?
You can already today download Bridge for Mac 1.2 from the download section of our support web, www.sonyericsson.com/support, there you will find all the details you might need to know about the application. Once the Bridge for Mac is downloaded and installed it will keep you automatically notified of future releases.

Jelly Bean Android version 4.1 and announced a few months ago by Google, has already his successor. It would be called, according to the latest rumors, Key Lime Pie or tart limes in French and is labeled with the number 4.2.
It is the site Android and Me brings us the latest news, with an internal source who has provided accurate information in the past.
According to them, this new version bring a personalization center, Project Roadrunner, or updating applications Google Play Now Google and video player.
The personalization center:
According to the source, a personalization center will be available to change ringtones, language packs, wallpapers, launcher, and a few other customizable filters. Certain assumptions are talking about custom themes introduced by the manufacturers, but that would be only a supplement and not pre-installed interface directly fused to the system time. This center is primarily a convenient way to allow the average consumer to make some basic customizations. The range of options can obviously be extended via Google Play.
This new system will allow manufacturers to provide their own interfaces manufacturers through this new center. When updates to Android if the manufacturer fails to provide a version compatible with the theme, simply return the terminal to the classic user interface.
So it sounds like a dream come true. Google may have finally found a solution that will allow consumers to update the Android operating system base, without having to wait for the new version of the interface builder.
The Roadrunner Project:
Somewhat in the same spirit as the Butter Project on Android 4.1, which allows an increase in the number of FPS (note: the number of frames per second), the Roadrunner Project will improve battery life by optimizing and reduced power consumption, allowing improved overall autonomy.
Update Google Play Now Google and video player:
Play Google: it is enhanced with new features such as personalized search - Optional integration with promotions - Improved notifications and improved in-app purchase;
Now Google: Google voice assistant now offer a user guide that will, for example, ask such questions as: "How do I enable Bluetooth? "Or" How can I reduce the brightness? "Facilitating these operations for novice users;
The native video player: it would benefit from an update regarding APIs and codecs will probably accounting expanded video formats, allowing the development of a new application dedicated to this medium.
It should be borne in mind that all this must be considered as a rumor, even if that source is reliable. Ilandroid-4-2-visits seems that Google has also begun to distribute devices to its employees since some sites are beginning to see the emergence of Android 4.2 in their statistics.
The concept of a certification program for Google Nexus is not excluded given the number of phones provided by Google this year. This will allow the web giant to take a little more control over certain issues and improve the Android experience.

For additional apps, some needs xperia framework so it won't be installed.
But for Walkman, Album, Movies, Live Wallpapers are universal so they can be installed in any version of android (4.2+)
I've tested them on Samsung, Sony, LG and they work fine.
Which one do you try to install?

Looking forward to seeing what the have done specific for out devices.
Hopefully we'll get a prerooted Rom soon
Anyone get a FTF yet?
I've been checking XperiFirm periodically and nothing yet.
XperiFirm reports 3 versions available for SGP511
UPD: Running HK version of 5.1.1. Initial impressions from 5.1.1 - it works
Can see WiFi dropdown.
What is new and confusing is the Mobile Data icon in notification area. Says "Mobile data is disabled" - WTF on Z2 WiFI only?

I installed the same HK firmware last night and it's working great for me as well. I got the same "Mobile data is disabled" notification, but I swiped it away to dismiss. The notification hasn't come back even after rebooting.

Where can I get the HK version of 5.1.1, I suppose it is not pre-rooted?
You can either do it yourself:
- download the original encrypted files by XperiFirm;
- decrypt and create FTF by FlashTool;
- create pre-rooted ROM by PRFCreator.
OR, you could simply download pre-rooted ROM from neighboring thread by Kulvertti.
He's done his ROM based on LAM (Latin America) variant. This is quite irrelevant as it differs from other variants by bloatware only.
Z2 Tablet WiFi-Only:
After the update, I had a crazy forever repeating "com.android.phone has stopped" error popup, but I was able to stop that by blocking com.android.phone with Rootjunky's Debloater.
Apart from that, it shows a silly "No service" message in the corner of the lockscreen and the notification area. It has no place in a wifi-only tablet.
I think Sony derped out and pushed the Z2 Tablet 4G/LTE firmware to the Wifi-only models.
5.0.2 runs just fine on the Z2 tablet.
There doesn't seem to be any real reason to update to 5.1.1.
Or did anyone discover any advantages?

Well overall 5.1.1 does seem to run faster and smoother, I have the impression that apps start much faster, also the recent apps opens instantly now. And you get better volume controls, you can now adjust the ringtone volume while music is playing, without needing to go to the audio settings screen, and vice versa you can easily change media volume while no music or video is playing.

The whole mobile network thing is very annoying. Plus my z3 phone just recently had the front screen crushed, repair is 180 euro as the Z3 screen is made up of nearly half the phone ( if you dont believe me look it up). So I guess that instead of repairing, I will buy an alternative brand.
I am happy with my Z2 tablet, but that is because it is a tablet! And dont use it for important things. I hate to say it but I think its time Sony throws in the hat. They have the PS3 and the camera sensors, unless they can devote some time to 1 smartphone product a year, and 1 tablet a year then they are trying too hard in the mobile division (no pun intended )
Today I downdated my Z2 tablet back to KitKat since I couldn't live with the tinny flat sound of third-party apps ignoring the Sony sound enhancements.

I don't use an Sd card though so that's a non-issue for me. I mainly use my tablet for watching streaming media so the sound quality is very important to me, and with the sound enhancements in Lollipop not working globally, all apps except Sony's own sounds like crap.
I also didn't like the recent apps screen in lollipop, it looked too cluttered to me.
Also on Kitkat I don't need to swipe before I can enter my pattern to unlock...
I wonder does anybody knows why Sony stopped rolling out 5.1.1 for Z2 tablet? Mine is Baltic region one and it is still on 5.0.2
According to XperiaFirm several European countries still haven't received 5.1.1
Wonder why?
The next big update to ColorOS is shipping with the OPPO Find X5 Pro, as the 12.1 version. While this maintains all of the great features that we know from ColorOS 12, you can expect to find a few new things sprinkled throughout the system. In this thread, I'm going to highlight all of the new features that I have found in ColorOS 12.1 on my OPPO Find X5 Pro.

How to Update your OPPO phone to ColorOS 12.1:
To make sure you are on the latest version of ColorOS, navigate to Settings > About device > Up to date. You can scan for a new update for your device in this section. If you are already on the latest version, you will see a "Version up to date" notice.
What's New in ColorOS 12.1
Performance optimizations have been made throughout the system, which will result in a smoother user experience. Animations are better, menus open quicker, and everything is more stable than before.
A new feature that is designed to enhance your gaming experience is called HyperBoost. This was previously found in some OnePlus devices and has now been integrated into ColorOS 12.1 for OPPO users. This is a system-level optimization and does not need to be turned on or off by the user. With HyperBoost, apps and games have an improved startup speed of about 31%. You’ll notice faster performance from your system, games, and apps while saving battery life through balancing power consumption and performance. Check out this Facebook video to see how it works.
Look for a new way to interact with your phone using Air Gestures. Navigate to Settings > Special features > Gestures & motions > Air Gestures. In this menu, you’ll be able to activate the new air gestures which include air scroll and call control gestures. You can enable air scroll for apps like TikTok, then scroll through videos with a hand gesture.
So with the combination of HyperBoost, Air Gestures, and your standard performance updates, most of the new features in ColorOS 12.1 seem to be under-the-hood improvements. If you have any questions about the new update let me know in the comments!
[Thank you to OPPO for supporting this thread]
