Samsung Galaxy S4 i9506 sim unlock problems! - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi to everyone!
I have been reading a lot of forums about unlocking my Samsung S4 i9506, but it's resulting very hard...
First, I read about getting a hidden Service Mode Menu, introducing *#0011# on dial pad.
For going to main menu, with the menu button, back, menu button, insert code, Q0.
Now I got the main menu. Clic [1] UMTS, [1] Debug Screen, [8] Phone control, [6] Network Lock
And now I should see three options:
[1] Perso Sha256 Info
[2] Perso Sha256 ON
[3] Perso Sha256 OFF
But options [2] and [3] are Hidden.
¿Hoy to "unlock" these options for going on the Sim Unlocking proccess?
Thanks a lot for your responses!

Where should I go in this menu? Selected the first [1] menu, now the phone starts "Blocking mode" what's this???
First hit menu then back. Then I hit menu-select-4 and and then hit menu then back and it gives me a list of options. Never messed around in there but I just looked around to see what was there. I tried 1,2,3 and phone just rebooted but nothing really happened.

Hm...
I do *#9090# and see:
DIAG CONFIG
[1]DM/DUM over HS-USB[]
[2]DM/DUM over HSIC[]
[3]DM/DUN/RmNET over HSUSB[]
[4]DM over UART(*)
[5]DBG MSG ON(*)
[6]DBG MSG OFF(*)
Could someone check what the defaults are?
Ok did the sequence and found it
What is "blocking mode enabled"? Did I push something wrong?
These are what I see

Thanks I got it!
I need to see the very first screen:
DIAG CONFIG
Ok for everyone here is the FULL SEQUENCE:
*#9090#->MENU->Back-> [4]DM over UART()->MENU->Back->[1]UMTS->[1]DEBUG SCREEN->[6]PHONE CONTROL->[6]NETWORK LOCK->[3]PERSO SHA256 OFF->MENU->END
Is access to this useful at all?

Tried it and it didn't work after put in my tmobile sim.
Tried it and verified that Perso SSH 256 was off and when i popped another carrier sim, it still said sim locked. Caved in and purchased the unlock code form cellunlocker.
p.S: Don't forget to switch Perso SSH 256 back to ON if you want to unlock it via cellunlocker code
Tried it as well and didn't work. So used unlock code.
Thanks @mikron15 for letting me know to turn SSH 256 back on as I was getting unlock unsuccessful.
tried it as well with no success... any other suggestions?

How to SIM unlock Samsung Galaxy S4 SGH-M919 (tested - works)
Hi Everyone,
I'm a long time lurker and benefited greatly from the postings here at xda.
So I'd like to contribute something back.
After trying many methods and reading all the posts in the various S4 forums, I finally found a way for SIM unlock that works for me.
I have tested it, and it works on my T-Mobile S4.

chavxxx's post pointing to the right final step
Here are the steps:
Goto phone dailer, and enter *#27663368378# for the debug service menu.
In "ServiceMode", select [1] UMTS
In "UMTS MAIN MENU", select [1] DEBUG SCREEN
In "DEBUG SCREEN", select [6] PHONE CONTROL
In "PHONE CONTROL", select [6] NETWORK LOCK
In "NETWORK LOCK", select [3] PERSO SHA256 OFF
It should show:
SHA256_ENABLED_FLAG[1]
SHA256_OFF => SHA256_ON
Now touch the first line SHA256_ENABLED_FLAG[1]
It should show:
MENU NOT EXIST
PRESS BACK KEY
Current Command is 116631
Now press the menu button and select "Back"
It should show:
SHA256_ENABLED_FLAG[0]
SHA256_OFF => Not Change
Again, press the menu button and select "Back", and you're back in the "NETWORK LOCK" screen
Press the menu button and select "Back", and you're in the "PHONE CONTROL" screen
Press the menu button and select "Back", and you're in the "DEBUG SCREEN" screen
Finally, press the menu button and select "Back", and you're back in the "UMTS MAIN MENU" screen
Select [6] COMMON
In "COMMON" screen, select [6] NV REBUILD
Now you are in the "NV REBUILD" screen, you should see the following text:
------------------------------
Golden-Backup exist
You can Restore Cal/NV
------------------------------
Now for the final step.
In "NV REBUILD" screen, select [4] Restore Back-up
The button lights for menu and back should come on, and the phone will auto reboot in a few seconds.
Note: chavxxx's post of selecting "[1] Load default NV" DID NOT work for me.
Congratulations, your phone is now unlocked.
Stick in a sim card from a different carrier and try it out.
Please post followups of your experience with this unlock method.
Thanks, and good luck!

Can't verify with the SIM card yet but the sequenses worked for S4.
What are the additional steps for S3?
I can't test because I got my sim unlock all ready by paying 25 for it when the phone came out

I followed the SIM unlock method, and it worked for my Bell S4.

Network unlock: [3] PERSO SHA256 OFF missing

Hi,
I have rooted MK2. I am trying to follow the steps http://gs4.wonderhowto.com/how-to/carrier-unlock-your-samsung-galaxy-s4-so-you-can-use-another-sim-card-0148110/
To get to the menu, I'd have to use the instruction at the bottom
*#0011#
Menu > Back
Menu > keyInput "Q"
Menu > keyInput "0000"
Wait for few seconds
However, when I get to step 6, option 3 PERSO SHA256 OFF does not exist. It only has 2 options:
[1] PERSO SHA256 Info
[2] RAT_FREE_SUPPORTING ON
How would be able to turn network lock off?
Thanks

[Q] Carrier unlock

Hey guys
Can I unlock my note 4 if I flash a different Csc based firmware on it?
So, I managed to enter the ServiceMode, by:
On this particular model, you have to do this:
Go to dial pad and enter: *#0011#
This will initially take you to Service Mode and showing you
various signal status items, by default. But it's a locked
entry. So to unlock and go to the Main Menu do this:
==> [MENU] + [Back]
==> [MENU] + [Key Input] + "Q"
==> [MENU] + [Key Input] + "0000"
==> <wait ~5-10 seconds>
Click to collapse
But after this I just can't find the following:
Code:
UMTS MAIN MENU
[1] DEBUG SCREEN.
[6] PHONE CONTROL.
[6] NETWORK LOCK
[3] PERSO SHA256 OFF
Go Back to Main Menu
UMTS MAIN MENU
[6] COMMON
[6] NV REBUILD.
[4] Restore Back-up.
Reboot
Can anybody help?
If it's network/sim locked you will need the unlock code either from your carrier or a 3rd party websites

s5 unlock question?

hi guys so i found on androidorigin this :
– Insert the new SIM card into the Galaxy S5
– Turn the Galaxy S5 off and then turn it back on
– Open the Dialler application, and type in *#197328640#
– Then select [1] UMTS > [1] Debug Screen > [8] Phone Control > [6] Network Lock > Options [3] Perso SHA256 OFF
– After all this, you will need to wait about 30 seconds before pressing the back button
– Now that you’re back at the main menu you should see a Network Lock message
– Now select [4] NW Lock NV Data INITIALLIZ
they say saying that this will unlock your s5 so i can use any provider, is this true? dose it work??
