Optimized ROM with NFC? - Galaxy S3 Neo Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Is there any stock based, optimized ROM for S3 Neo (I9301l) which has working NFC?
I found this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-neo/development/gt-i9301i-t2934518, though I'm not sure, whether it supports it or not. It's seems nice, but if there is one with a more recent stock be, would be better.
Thanks for any feedback!

[Q] Why few ROMs ?

Hello guys!
Just a quick question, why can we saw a few number of ROM?
I mean, de don't see a lot of CM Based ROM or AOSPA Legacy ROM. Have you got an idea ? Maybe it's an hardware issue?
Thanks a lot!

Cyanogenmod is working on a rom for the G900F and maybe other Qualcomm based variants, only the camera and nfc needs some work afaik. If those issues are resoved we will have CM/AOSP roms soon. The Exynos variant will probably not be supported though. Look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2755697 for more info.

There are actually a large number of custom ROMs available for a new device that has only been available for a few months. Why you would expect more is a mystery. There is official CM and ASOP ROMs, as well as myriad non ASOP ROMs. And no doubt the number of ROMs will increase over time.
It's not clear if you just haven't searched to see what is available or if you perhaps have unrealistic expectations.
.
Why I expect more? It's just that when I have a new phone - for personnal or profesionnal use - I like to see every ROMs which are created or ported. Even if I install only one or two of them, I like to see every works.
After my XPERIA Z1 and my Galaxy S4, I saw an incredible number of ROMs. Slim, Carbon, Cyanogen, Paranoid, and other...
It was just a question to know "why" there is only few ROM, nothing more.
Personaly, I would like to keep my Stock I guess, but I like to test CM, AOSPA and sometimes Slim.
:highfive:
Thanks for your answer.

tnx for your reply i will try this later
for me i think stock rom ( +root ) is better
These are the roms i experimented with for the last 4-5 weeks of having my S3 Neo (GT I9301I)
Rox CM11: Great, few bugs, stock android experience.
Rox CM12: Lollipop, great looking rom, but give it some time to develop it still has some annoying bugs
t-shock's Extremely tweaked S5 look for S3 Neo ROM: GREAT PERFORMANCE, STOCK S5 TouchWiz look, all perfect except the most annoying bug = you cant change your phone and notification ringtone......sure yeah you can set it through music player but still notification ringtone cant be changed.
StockMod: Same stock firmware experience, many useful and good looking features.
Blisspop: Rox CM12 with a ****load of more features aaaand along with Rox CM12's bugs.
Currently im sticking to Rox's CM11 as its a bit stable, but what i'd really love is a fully fixed t-shock's S5 look for S3 Neo Rom
And yes just as samo_say says "Stock rom/firmware +root is better". Every Rom available for this device has bugs, mainly because there's not much development done for S3 Neo, maybe not that popular device

Guys "best rom " threads are now allowed on XDA read the rules.all roms are good since developer invested time on them and whould be unfair to categorize them on good/bad...Test different roms nad see which one you like the moust. And say Thnaks to developers thye are doing awesome job

well i dont kno if they're bugs related to CM12 or maybe its just my device, but ive experienced the Trebuchet launcher getting stuck occassionally, and sometimes when you open the widget screen and press back the widget menu stays on the home screen, and other minor UI glitches i cant remember now....
FIUI rom. CM11 based but faster , better battery life. For i9300I and for i9301I. You can find it in the general section
Glade works perfectly for me. Great performance and good batery life.

Discuss NFC

hello
I have a little question
Why can't we use NFC on any rom
Even if anyone used our stock kernel ?
What is the main problem ?
No one ??
I'm not 100% sure, but I believe it's because not all versions of S3 neo have NFC, so when a developer makes a rom based in the one of a S3 neo without nfc, the rom will not support it. S5 mini port based roms have not NFC because that phone hasn't it either, and CM based roms have not the sources to make NFC work.

You can use the STOCK Rom if you really need NFC.
No sources are available for nfc in sd400 that's why they can't include nfc in roms.

Looking for AOSP ROM with fingerprint

Hello guys, well the title says it all. It should be stable. I would like to go CM but than I read about this fingerprint problems.
Another question... is it possible to get full working shealth on that rom than?
Thank you :fingers-crossed:
- No (Not at this Moment, it isnt even fully stable yet)
- No. If you want Touchwiz Features stick with Touchwiz. Because CM and TW uses different frameworks.

Is Dirty Unicorns Dead? Suggestions for other clean-style roms?

Trying out a Sprint S4 (non T version), but not thrilled with the performance of the stock 4.4 ROM. Figured maybe 5+ would be an improvement, but wanted to go with something built for speed and efficiency (ie. not full of bloat) rather than let it update itself.
From what I've read, most people seemed to recommend Dirty Unicorns as a fairly clean and speedy ROM. I'm not looking for heavy modifications and skins or anything like that. Those kinds of things turn me off.
But, it seems that Dirty Unicorns is no longer supported on the S4, the links in the official thread are broken and the DU website doesn't list the S4 as a supported device... oddly, none of the Galaxy phones are listed as supported devices. Were we dropped? What happened? Is it still out there somewhere? Is there any other similar ROM that folks recommend?
I've got TWRP ready to go!

BlissPop is a great 5.1.1 ROM, CM13 is also a good 6.0.1 option. If TW is your thing, WickedX is your best 5.0.1 choice.

I don't particularly care for TW or not, I just want to make sure everything works as well as possible (sometimes AOSP roms need to be coaxed into working more than ones based on stock). Also things like Samsung's pedometer (S Health) have replaced my fitbit, and I'm hoping whatever ROM I install will still work with it.
Meanwhile, I can't believe I forgot about CM! I should have thought of that first. Those are always solid once they are officially supported by CM! But I wonder- is CM12 better on this hardware than CM13? In my experience over the years, I've often found that ROMs based on versions officially supported by the device worked better than ones that were pushing newer versions. At least CM12 is based on Lollipop, which IS available for this phone officially. But then again, this is CM we're talking about. If 13 works well, I have no qualms using it. Any advice on that one way or the other?

I haven't had any real problems on stock CM 13(officially supported device), I run SynergyOS which is cm based so I can undervolt and underclock. You can get S Health on CM ROMs if you go that route.
