RESOLVED: Bricked my G2 installing cloudyG2 3.3 on D800 - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

RESOLVED
-------------------
Please help me. The screen is black and does not even charge ....
D800 Originally was on kitkat and tried to install Cloudy 3.3
Everything went fine including root, AutoRec, KK and Cloudy 3.3. But after installing cloudy 3.3 and when I restarted, it just does not boot at all.
-----------------
First of All thanks to gamertwo1, who helped me and saved my Phone. The instructions he gave should be the sticky to Cloudy installation instructions.
Here are few more details if anyone wants to install cloudy3.3 on D800.
1. I followed this instruction for installation.
2. Also you need two more zip which gamretwo1 has mentioned bellow.
By any chance if you miss above step #2, during installation process, there is a way to install those process. Get yourself to recovery mode during boot, and if you want to copy those 2 missing zip files, either you use usb-ota and mount during recovery...or on same recovery...use this guide to copy the files to your phone.

I've gone through the same situation.
All you need to do is when you turn on your mobile LG logo appears and go very quickly but you have to catch it go to recovery.
With the KK bootloader and custom recovery already installed, you need to do the following:
1. Wipe System + Data + Cache + Dalvik Cache (Do not modify the Internal Storage)
2. Flash CloudyG2 3.3 (Do NOT reboot at the end of the installation)
3. Flash ROM-patch-v1.4-lp30f-d800-blastagator-signed.zip ( http://blastagator.ddns.net/d800_rom_patch.php )
4. Flash boot-permissive-lp-d800-devnull-signed.zip ( http://blastagator.ddns.net/d800_rom_patch.php )
5. Reboot

How do I download other 2 zip file u mention in recovery

I have only recovery mode....how to download Flash ROM-patch-v1.4-lp30f-d800...nred help to unbroken my phone pls

You have to go to this website http://blastagator.ddns.net then d800 lollipop patch section in order to download the zips.

I am sorry but when phone only can go in recovery how do I put patch on phone?

[Q] LG G2 D802 Stuck on bootloop. Help please?

So I rooted my G2 using this method: http://theunlockr.com/2013/10/25/root-lg-g2-versions-video/
And flashed CWM using this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2468858
And everything worked perfectly.
I could boot into recovery, all that stuff, but then some stuff went wrong when I tried to flash CM10.2..
I used ROM Manager, and backed up the ROM, which only sort of worked, being unable to back up 'system'
It then tried to flash CM10.2, but was stuck so I force shut down.. Now it's in boot loop, with the LG logo, and I'm unsure how to boot into recovery (tried volume up +Power, volume down+Power, niether worked)... What should I do?

Hi,
To enter in recovery it's a little more subtle , it's in the OP where you take your recovery...:
HOW TO ENTER RECOVERY
Method 1: Hold the power button + volume down button until the LG image appears. Once it does let go of the buttons then immediately push and hold them again until recovery boots.
NOTE: The method above will arrive at the "hard reset" area, but when choosing hard reset, it will take you to CWM (without actually resetting).

In recovery, do a full wipe then flash CM (right version for your phone?) and see if it boots.
Otherwise, return to full stock or use an OTG cable to push another rom (if your actual recovery support it), at least to have a working phone before flashing something else...
And backup your rom directly in recovery, not with Rom Manager...

When I try backup in cwm, it says 'can't mount to /system"
When I try installing the rom, it just sticks to 'installing update' and the progress bar doesn't move...

Ah...
If I were you I will start from scratch, maybe not the best method but...
Take a look here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476 to return to stock, then root, install recovery, backup your rom in recovery (first thing to do). Full wipe and try CM...
Have you the right recovery for your phone model?

Yes, I believe so.
That method I just attempted now, but: 09:02:28 : Launching SW update
09:02:28 : Unpacking KDZ
09:02:29 : KDZ file extraced
09:02:29 : Extract file error
09:02:31 : ===FINISHED===
So yeah, it didn't work :/
I'm completely lost.

The md5 is 2e42d58646ae740d56d7ae3ab10204a5, maybe it's the wrong one? It did say it's for the D802, though, which is definitely what I have.
I'm in the exact same situation.
Did you resolve the issue with the return to stock guide? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
I'm thinking that it could be possible to put a different ROM on the sdcard via mounting CWM but not sure how to go about doing this, any suggestions?
Thanks
Sounds like you installed stock wrong... remember to click "Normal web upgrade test" first before clicking "Upgrade Start" in new window. The log shows u clicked "upgrade start" before clicking "normal web upgrade test"

Download flashify from play store and install recovery from this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2898705
Can be done just by flashing without pc needed?
Wimmme,i manage to flash twrp from the link you provided in the link but i cant see twrp recovery i just boot in some kind of android recovery with few options to flash from several places or reboot, also i open flashiify and try to flash from there by dowloading recovery and then when i reboot i can see only some kind of recovery i can navigate only with plus\minus and power button

Now that you have TWRP, flash the one i suggested in second post from within TWRP.
Ok i have no OS on the phone right now, after rooting and install twrp, stock option double tap to wake just stop to work, but doble tap to sleep works,so i start wiping first from the menu of the phone and then after no sucess i start wiping from twrp and guess what i destroy everything even the OS itself ;ddd so im in the lg boot loop now, even the nandroid back up is deleted

If you have download mode (completely turned off phone, the VOL UP and insert cable would boot you there) and flash stock ROM with flashtool to return to stock.
Do this for start.

Search here http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?firmware=1 with your IMEI (If you cant boot to your OS you can find it on the retail box of the phone)
Be sure of what you will flash and if you are no sure about something just ask someone.
The link i gave you to the other link says everything clearly so just follow the instructions and you ll be fine.
Thx i ll do it in next 2 hours

To do a full backup onto your sd card you need to boot into recovery. Before that you need to make sure that you have installed twrp recovery installed.
1. Go to TWRP Install from the menu page in TWRP.
2. Make sure you have your device name selected. LG Leon us c50
3. Make sure you select the TWRP Recovery Version to install should show 3.0.0.0.0-c50 and some other options.
4. Click on install recovery to install TWRP.
After that make sure you boot into recovery mode.
1. Go to TWRP menu.
2. Click on reboot.
3. Click on reboot into recovery.
Once in recovery you can backup your rom and flash a new one.
Edit: did not realise user bumped a year old thread please delet if necessary
I just got a used leon..it had boost service which i dont like and want to change it to metro pcs if possible. But anyways it doesnt let me go into recovery. I did everything i was supposed to do to install twrp and it even says "installation successful"....when i try to reboot to recovery it says error code: 1003

First Time Root and Flash of Cyanogenmod13 on LG G2 802 - Will not Boot!

Hi folks,
First time I have done this on my G2.
First I installed AutoRec. No errors.
Then I downloaded "cm-13.0-20160103-NIGHTLY-d802.zip" also "open_gapps-arm-6.0-nano-20151225.zip" Copied both to root of "sdcard".
I then used AutoRec to reboot into recovery. Did a factory wipe, then installed CM followed by GAPPS. I then pressed reboot system and nothing seems to happen.
The screen appears to be on (I can see the backlight is on) but it is completely black....I cannot figure out how to turn it off or get back into recovery. I did once randomly but cannot do it again. Just holding the power button down for a long time does not seem to power it off...every now and again with button presses I briefly see the LG logo flash up, but too quickly to be the boot one....
Please can someone make some suggestions as I cannot see what to try next.
Thanks, Jon

As far as i can see,you flashed M gapps on Lollipop rom. It's a no go[emoji6]
Sent from my LG-D802 using Tapatalk
U have three way to choise
1 use srktool
2 flash stock if downloadmode work
3 go to recovery flash loki bootstack then cm12.1 or flash hybird bootstack then cm 13
Ah, hi folks....before I saw these posts, I just managed to randomly get into the TWRP recovery menu....did a data wipe again...reinstated my backup of "system" and now its sitting on the LG boot screen with the LED pulsing blue/green...so just waiting to see if this boots into anything..... :-/
Before I did this, when I plugged it into PC (Win7) I got like about 10 HDDs mount....
So....should I not use CM13? Should I stick with CM12.1? What about GAPPS? What is wrong with GAPPs on Lollipop? Can LG G2 take CM13? Is CM13 Lollipop?
Sorry so many questions....
Whilst typing, it is still on the LG boot logo screen....not sure how long to leave it....I need to somehow copy CM12.1 onto the "sdcard"
Thanks for the replies!
Sorry, also realised, my OP actually said the wrong version of CM... I tried installing CM13 not CM12.1 I want/think I need to install 12.1 ?

If you made a typo, then gapps and rom are ok. You need ti flash hybrid bootstack for cm 13 before flashing rom and gapps.

OK, thanks, that's potentially good news. How do I flash the hybrid bootstack?

Search for hybrid bootstack and be careful to pick one for your model. It's in zip format so you flash via recovery then reboot recovery and then flash rom and gapps.
I guess you need to do a little reading since you only have giod will but not the knowledge[emoji6]. I am still afraid to flash custom rom although i did read it all there is to read.
Good luck

I have the VS980 so I downloaded a hybrid bootstack, flashed it, rebooted BACK into TWRP after flash, then flashed the ROM (Resurrection Remix MM) with Pico GApps. Don't forget to wipe & backup before doing this too.
AHA!
Thanks everyone! The bootstack did it!
FWIW, I luckily, had a USB OTG cable, so I could copy files onto a USB stick, then in TWRP recovery mode, one USB stick was plugged into phone, go and mount OTG USB...then copy files (using Advanced > file manager) from USB to sdcard.
Then install bootstack.zip followed by CM12.1.zip
SO....this is with CM12.1....is it safe to try CM13? On LG G2 D802?
Thanks again everyone.

Blocked on TWRP presentation Page

Hi, I rently bought a Galaxy S7 Edge and i wanted to install the SUPERMAN custom ROM so :
I followed the tutorial to root the phone => ok
the tutorial to install TWRP => OK
Then the tutorial to install the ROM, and thats when the problems started to appear.
When I tried backing up before the installation in TWRP, I had a couple of error message like "unable to mount data". As the phone was new, I did not have any personnal data on it I thought "Backup is not necessary (grave error?)
so I skiped and went directly to ROM installation (the ROM was on an external microSD card) => installation OK
BUT I forgot to wipe Dalvik cache before rebooting, and as i understand it, it can cause a bootloop, it apparently did!
Here, as it was late, I started to lose my cool, so I am not entirely sure about the sequence of what I have done, but I am trying my best to be precise so that you can find a way to help me.
- I went back to TWRP, I tried to wipe dalvik cache and other types of wipe, but had the same error "unable to mount data" on every try.
-I googled a little bit and found a video tutorial ecplaining that I need to wipe => advanced wipe => tick system => change file system => then choose a type (i chose exFat) => It went on for 10-15 minutes without any sign of evolution so I reached the peak of my stupidity (really lost my cool), and forced reboot (not sure if I used volume UP or DOWN
-I dont think I did anything else after this, when I tried going into TWRP, I got stuck on the TWRP presentation page
The phone starts normally in download mode (am I saved?)
But it does not completely start in TWRP mode, it gets stuck on the presentation page (where there is the name of the team and the version number)
I tried installation other versions of TWRP with Odin but I still get stuck on the presentation page, although the version number changes adequatly to the version installed.
Please help me! :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
thank you.
Good news, is yes you can restore your device. Download your stock rom , unzip and flash in odin.
The is a dedicated thread on XDA for TWRP, in the steps the is a no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip which you should download.
Once you reach twrp again you should swipe to allow mod, then click on wipe, format data and type in yes when prompted.
After which flash the zip mentioned above. Now you will have access to the system in twrp, and flash whatever rom you like.
trust this helps

Now, onto the next step, I guess the tutorial I followed initialy was not good enought. So where can I get this "no-verity-opt-encrypt.zip", and how should I install it exactly? Unless I missed something, it is not explained in the xda tutorial

I Followed the instructions of your link, then I followed the instructions of the tutorial to install SuperMan ROM bug at the last reboot (after installation) I got stuck on the "Samsung Galaxy Edge 7" screen, the starting screen...
Hope I can install this ROM, I dont want to go back to stock.
Have you updated the modem and bootloader as dev instructed?
First initial boot will take time , remember you wiped everything but you Internal storage and SD card.
"9. Reboot and wait around 10 minute's (deodexed roms need longer to boot the first time)
10. Don't interrupt the process of booting the phone, even when it restarts"
How long did you leave it on the Samsung S7 Edge screen?

Yes I followed the instructions and downloaded the too exact files he said, flashed it with odin
I wiped everything (even internal storage) but micro sd card
I left it more than 30 minutes.
One thing I did I'm not sure about, during root, I followed the tutorial (the link you gave me) to root and install twrp, during this step, I flashed both superSU and dm verity... step 11 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/development/recovery-official-twrp-hero2lte-3-0-0-0-t3334084 ) Is that ok?
My method, that works for me is as follows :
Flash my stock firmware via odin.
Boot up, select OEM and USB debugging on.
Flash latest TWRP in odin.
Boot up phone, then switch off and enter recovery.
In recovery page i swipe to allow mod, select wipe /format data and type in yes when prompted.
Then , flash the no-verity zip.
I then boot up the phone normally and let it settle for about five min, switch off and get back into TWRP.
Now there shouldn't be any red error msg's in TWRP of cant mount. ( That is important ) otherwise rom wont flash properly.
After which i will flash a rom, most custom stock roms already have SU.
