please could someone give a good step by step NFO to help solve my problem
Thanks !
You have a GPS enabled ROM so you shouldn't have to do anything to 'activate' the GPS- it starts automatically, and transparently when a GPS aware application runs.
Which GPS application (s) are you trying to use? Make sure their settings point to COM9 and Baud 57600, then go outside with a clear view of the sky to allow the satellite data to download.
also wm6. I-Go first detected the gps at com 9 57600 but suddenly works only with 9600 !!!
any comments?
Some apps are a bit picky when it comes to baud rates- most will accept any value, but some prefer a set value, regardless of the hardware capability. Which version of iGO are you using?
I use iGO 2006 Plus on my WM6 Trinity and it links at the default hardware settings.
It is odd that iGO did accept the hardware settings before. As long as it works though, I'd not worry. The baud rate is irrelevant, as the actual data transfer is less than 1000 baud.
TomTom Navigator
I'm using TomTom & CamerAwar , when through all settings with fine tooth comb , and evan sat on top of a hill for half an hour and NOTHING . bEGINING to miss my 10 year old Nokia Banana phone that just took calls

Reflash with another ROM. Must be a bad flash. Only explanation I have. Start with an official HTC WM5 GPS enabled ROM and see.

Did the GPS work before the ROM update?
Could be a hardware fault.

using also i-GO plus. thank you for the reassuring me. i thought so. the strange thing is that it worked (for 45 km) with 57600 but on the way back..nothing over 9600!!
i don't think i changed something...
No the GPS has never worked ! ( YET )
Sounds like a hardware fault in that case
If you have a GPS Radio ROM (anything from 1.30.00.11 onwards) and a GPS aware app (TTN set to COM9 and 57600 Baud) and it doesn't work, either the GPS is kaput, or possibly the Radio ROM didn't flash properly.
GPS up and working
Thanks for the help , loaded up visual GPS and set the comms port & BAUD rate & that kicked in then switched on TomTom & now i'm not lost anymore
Hi f0lks,
thank you for this superb infos, work and support on this forum!
great work for breaking the shift! really!
everyting worked fine for me, no trouble at all.
now, since i can use GPS with the shift, i would like to know what GPS you use.
my only success is with VITO - SmartNavigator.
GPS works fine, except the maps... well its a trial and i guess i need to buy em seperately.
but
i read someone used google maps together with GPS, i guess its vista and not snap vue sided since i cant install google maps.
tried many other tools (most been ARM cabs, and theese seem to be unsigned and doesnt work/install at all).
before i go to buy smart navigator i would like to hear what do you use, and what does work.
maybe it depends on the rom versions too...
pls write down your experience and work flows to get your software working.
personally i prefer a real GPS only software, without wifi or GSM usage...
many thanx
and keep up the good work!
k0s
ps:
i am free for betatesting!

I dont have issue with gps, its working good with Aura navigation.
GPS works really good - using iGo, tried Navitel, Sygic and several more. Accuracy is generally good, but had strange issues once - whole day I had a strong position shift (about 100 meters I think). Tried rebooting, resetting and so on - nothing helped. Next day problem was gone.
my lg l5 II (E460) the GPS does not work
who has an idea to solve this
Hi mate! OK here's the deal:
I have the same phone. Used to have Samsung i5700 before it. The Samsung's GPS was stronger, faster and more sustainable (durable), I mean it didn't lost the signal too often.
The case with LG L5 II is rather different. I haven't tested it on the road yet (I don't own a car stand for this phone, YET - need to concentrate on the road), but there are problems with it.
In a clear sky it takes somewhere between 20 - 250 seconds to fix me. My old phone (android 2.2) needed somewhere about 15-60 seconds for the same task. Ridiculous.
So here are my top tips if you want your GPS to work - it would not be faster, but it would work. Sorry, but I dunno how to make it as fast as my SAMSUNG was:
1. Install GPS Status and Toolbox: https://play.google.com/store/search?q=gps+status+and+toolbox&c=apps
It is the best application for testing the speed of your GPS. Use it under clear sky (no clouds, mists or whatsoever)
2. Install GPS status - test and fix from this link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...1bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5jb2NoaWJvLmdwc3N0YXR1cyJd
and read this XDA topic:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2197842
Follow the steps there. It would make your GPS work
3. Install one of those navigation apps:
iGO Primo (paid)
OruxMaps (free)
Osmand maps (free)
I don't like the new versions of Sygic (paid), but you can give it a go too.
With a combination of these apps my GPS locates me - slowly and sometimes looses signal, but it fixes me nevertheless.
I hope someone gives us a solution about this problem AND root for our new LG L5 II - awesome phone, with some problems regarding camera and GPS (maybe because it is cheaper than it's competitors)
Cheers!

Unsure if you are still having problems however I found that for some reason Sygic was killing my GPS and had to factory reset, TomTom seems towork fine. Also see this link as itmay help http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2197842
Hello,
I'm French and i Love this community for me who are fan of technologie, so thank you for what do you do together.:good:
I have a Huawei P8 lite ALE L21. With my greatest joy I was able to install Lineage OS 14.1 unofficial.
I know in that version some things did not work such as the camera recorder or the photo who bug, as well as the GPS and others things.
But for the camera video and photo I found the alternative. I installed the Footej Camera application. And now camera recording or photo as working perfectly!!! This is AWESOME!!! :victory:
And now I can make videos of 30 mins, take multiple photos and all that without bug with my great happiness.
And if not everything working, even the SD card, the LTE network, the WIFI, and the CPU does not heat up.
But the bug GPS persist and I know that it was marked, that it was one of the points that did not work in this version.
But I was able to do perform working the GPS few times, it tracked me on the map and at other times not.
So maybye that it just a little error to fix, or something else but if sometimes the GPS tracked me on map, maybye they have some solution like some other GPS applications or updates may that working ?:fingers-crossed: So I come to my question:
But would not there be such as for the camera video a GPS application that make work the GPS? Or a tweak that make it work? Or an update, or an application other than Google as for the camera that make the GPS work. Please If you have solution, i take her!!!
So like for the camera video are they some solutions to do for the GPS?
Thank you for all what do you do brother of XDA.
