Apps disappeared from the phone after a reboot, including my Google account - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, so this happened after changing the SIM card, I'm using the international N9005 variant, unlocked, running stock 5.0
About a third of my apps disappeared from both the home screen and the app drawer, including my google account in the accounts tab in the settings. Also, I keep getting the "Unfortunately, X has stopped" for a bunch of apps(Google Play Newsstand, android.process.media, S Planner, Internet, Contacts Storage, Settings). The missing apps show in the application manager with the android logo icons and take up 0.00B, they were all installed on the phones internal memory.
I did a reboot, wiped cache partition and it didn't help. I'd do a factory reset, but i can't remember the last time I've synced my data.
Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

Mate, what did occurred first?
You Factory Reset your phone and the Apps were gone?
Because that's how it works.
Also, did you tried to put back the old Sim just to check?
but then again, you Factory Reset your phone already. So, the probability to have the App's back is gone.

[Q] android.process.score has stopped

I'm getting the error "Unfortunately, the process android.process.a core has stopped." about every 8-20 seconds. The only thing that stops it is deleting my Google account under settings>accounts.
Earlier, I had OAPK4 and backed up my apps and settings with Titanium. I then installed Smoothrom3.1 and cleared cache partition and Dalvik after flashing. I then restored my apps and settings. Everything was fine for a couple hours and then the problem started out of the blue. Like I said, delete my Google acct and it goes away. Sign back in and it immediately comes back
AFAIK, that process is for home launcher mate, try installing other launcher, nova or apex is recommended BTW, hehehe.

You must not switch between different ROMs without wiping because it may lead to unexpected behaviour, but even restoring ROM internal settings from a different ROM may cause force closes. Wipe everything, log in again and your force closes should no longer appear.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Fixed. I started clearing caches on Google related stuff and it finally stopped when I did a Clear Data on Contacts Storage and that seems to have fixed it. Been good for over an hour now. Fingers are crossed.

[Q] Can't install apps from google play website

The usual problem - I flashed a custom ROM, signed into my gmail account, then restored the backup of my main ROM,
Now I can't install apps from a PC browser on G Play, it works fine on the phone, just not from the PC
I've cleared cache, data of play store and google services from the phone
Remove my account and re-added it
Removed all devices permissions from my account and set them back up
rebooted the phone
Ive run out of ideas, anyone know what's up?
The device shown in my account is saying it's last access was the 26th, which was about when I flashed that custom ROM, so I'm guessing it's still not seeing my current ROM even after all of that
PITA Google, why make things so complicated ?
Anyone know how to remove that old device and force it to see my current one?

I've fixed it, there was no error, it just refused to detect the phone at all, when I pressed INSTALL on the website, it only gave options of my old April 26th ROM, not my current one
Finally after booting to recovery and clearing all caches, then opening Play store app on the phone, it finally (After 20 tries) detected the phone again and works as it should
That's 2 days of using my phone, that the play store web version failed to detect the phone at all
Come on Google, get it sorted, this has been going on for years, I remember the same problem back in 2012 with my tablet

Uninstalled Apps keep reinstalling after Reboot and updates go missing

Hello ,
I have a rooted LG G2 AT&T with a stock Lollipop rom.
I don't know why but recently my phone began to have this strange behavior.
Whenever I reboot the phone, it restores my previously uninstalled apps and all the updates installed between two reboots go missing.
The other strange thing is that all the NEW apps installed instead are kept.
The phone has become very slow booting and during the boot it shows the popup stating "Android is upgrading... Optimizing app x of n", where the total number varies time to time.
Does anybody have any idea on how to solve it?
Thanks in advance
Update: the boot time and number of apps being optimized varies with the number of uninstalled apps.
I tried:
cleaning dalvik cache
cleaning cache partition
fixing permissions
deleting apps with TB
disabled auto restore from google account

Google Play doesn't auto update apps

hello, I use android 5.0 lollipop.
Google play doesn't auto update and doesn't show notifications for update waiting apps. When I clear "data" for Google Play Store it starts to show notifications, but when I open Google Play , it asks me about google campaigns and agreements, I accept it, and after this process problem starts again.
I am sure this is about the "data" that Google Play uses. Problem disappears when I clear data. Problem starts again after first usage. (first window)
I tried deleting cache and data for Google play services too. I did factory reset and I removed Google Account. Nothing helps.
Thank you.
Try updating the play store
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-store/
And clear cache/data for google services / framework
i tried, still no luck.
ive been having issues with updating apps on my s5.
i got an error code 963
it seems to be with apps ive moved to sd card.
i read something about new android OS after a certain version are not allowing apps to stored in sd card.
i unistalled playstore and reinstalled it and i aldo moved the apps to device storage and both those actions or one of them by itself allowed the apps to update
i dont know if it was just uninstalling the playstore or moving the app to device storage though. thought id share my experience
mine is the sm-g900r4

You already said "I did factory reset and I removed Google Account. Nothing helps"
What extra do you think you can achieve without re-flashing a ROM, that a factory reset couldn't fix?

sorry i am just a beginner user ,i have 2 questions
-if i do flashing rom will my phone out of warranty?
-can i see/change Google Play Store files on my phone? i have no root access
thanks.
No you won't lose warranty flashing STOCK ROMs with ODIN
You will lose warranty if you flash anything custom
Which Google store files are you talking about?
And if you had access to them, being a beginner, what would you be looking for, and what would you change, again, that a factory reset did not achieve ?
Unbelievable !
I flashed last stock rom but problem continues.
I check manually most days, and just update any that are sitting waiting
Not sure if there is like a set time period it waits before auto updating, but the notifications for available updates will likely only happen if you disable auto updates, otherwise it has no reason to tell you there are updates waiting, it will/should just update them and tell you once it's done
So try this:
1. Disable auto updates in Google Play settings
2. Wait for a few days until there are some updates available
See if you get notifications
If yes, try this:
1. Enable Auto updates in Google Play
2. Wait a full week without manually updating, see if they auto update

Missing/Backup Account Greyed out on stock TW

I recently went back to stock TW (QB2) for the camera while I was on vacation last week. Since then, I no longer see my Google account listed under Backup Account under the Backup and Reset settings. This section is actually greyed out with the message "No account is storing backup data currently". I have tried signing in and out of my Google account, clearing data/cache for several Google apps, toggling the the backup settings on and off and still no luck. I even performed a factory reset, twice. During the setup process, I also noticed that I'm no longer being prompted to restore apps.
I have another S5 with a cracked screen, and that is running Lineage 14.1. That phone shows my Google account under Backup Account, and when checking the "Backups" setting in Drive, I can see it was last backed up today around 1:30. In Drive on my TW phone, I have a message saying "Your device is not backed up", along with a link to the Backup Settings where I'm still unable to add a backup account.
Can someone who might be on a recent version of TW check and see if their device lists their Google account under the Backup and Reset settings?
