Has anyone else experienced this? My wife's AT&T D800 randomly has this issue when the back button on the nav bar stops working. This can also coincide with other buttons in some apps not working as well. Other buttons, such as the Home button, work fine, and she has touch vibration on, so I know that the phone is detecting the touch. Restarting the phone puts everything back to normal, but this is starting to become more frequent.
Has anyone else experienced something like this, and if so, were you able to fix it, and how?
Thanks in advance!

...and screen can only be used with the pen? This is a problem i have.
Just switching ist off and on fixes the problem (i have not to reboot).
Seems to be a software problem.
No the screen works well its only the buttons
Absolutely no problems to report with mine???
Yes I am having this same problem as the poster described (back and menu buttons switch off)
Specifically happens after a phone call
Happens to my brothers phone as well and both phones are sourced from different suppliers
Think a software update may fix this? or should i send it back and buy another one?
Thanks
Pretty widespread problem it seems:

I tend to believe it's software-based though
Anyone else have the issue when trying to answer an incoming call the digitizer fails to wake? The work around I found is hitting the power button once to put the screen to sleep then hitting it again to wake every thing up and letting the right swipe work. This has happen randomly once week since I owned the phone. Factory reset dose not solve the issue. Anyone else out there in N4 land dealing with this or found a fix?

On some rare occasion, when I turn on my phone the touch screen works and it let me unlock the phone but every time I get into the home screen the touch screen stops working. When I press the home screen the home button the touch screen works again. Then I turn the phone off and on again same thing happen. Restart and it works back normally. Is this a software issue with kitkat or is this a hardware problem? I am on stock rom. I hope someone know the answer to this weirdness or maybe I don't know something. Thanks.

i get the same thing once in awhile. ever since KitKat. and i'm on a custom ROM to me its almost as if the phone is in some kind of wait state and i have to "kick" it to get it going. I've seen other in my ROM's forum talk of it. so now i know its not just our custom ROM, sounds like a KitKat thing..
Thanks. "Wait state" reminds me of finite state machine. Glad this isn't a hardware issue.
All 3 of these buttons require me pressing the same area 7+ times before it registers or works.. Anyone else having this problem? Everything else about my phone seems perfect, but having cap buttons that dont work is highly annoying
Did you ever solve the issue? I have been experiencing since yesterday.
I've noticed even since Nougat, my force touch on the home button does nothing a lot of the time. It can't be a hardware issue because the phone does vibrate when I apply pressure to it.. does anyone else have this issue?
It's kind of the main reason I never hit the lower left button to hide the nav bar- force touch is unreliable and sometimes I have to hit it a second time even though it vibrates.
