To root after you update, you need to do the following:
1. Boot the phone and let it load.
2. Go to Settings>Security> Unckeck Reactivation Lock
3. Boot back to Recovery and run AutoRoot and a custom Recovery.

just install v2.49 BETA-SuperSU for recovery and ready ..
Please enable debug mode and security -Origins unknown and ready ..
1_ flash firmware OF6
2_ activate debug mode
3_ enter mode Download and install the recovery (TWPR)
4_ now download the BETA-SuperSU v2.49.zip and install it from recovery
5_ ready ... you are root and have recovery ...

It should but you have to install the lollipop version and there is only limited support for lollipop. I cant remember where the links are for that one, I don't use it really for anything.

I just went through this ordeal. There is a lollipop version of dual recovery here . You need to flash the flashable version of it through recovery and it will give you write access. You are probably using a Kit Kat version of dual recovery that doesn't disable lollipop simlock.
many thanks for the quick response. can I get this recovery "TabZ2-lockeddualrecovery2.8.21-RELEASE.flashable.zip" for the sgp512 simple flash or something else must take place only before ... thanks:good:

Not sure what version of firmware you are on, but you might need to downgrade to an older version, run NUTs or another method to flash a new recovery. I went back to a 17.x version and skipped all the setups at firstboot, enabled Developer tools, then USB debugging, allow apps to be installed, and all that nonsense, then I ran locked recovery install.bat.

@German Developer it booted properly, but it doesn't work okay. Super SU wants and binary update, that fails when asks to disable KNOX. Also the root checker apps say that the device root access is not properly installed.
I followed the steps correctly, Odin showed message "Passed".
Just to make sure, these is the information about the firmware, device, baseband and etc.

Should I isntall the firmware of the tutorial. And if yes, where can I find the files?

@German Developer, yeah man. All went perfect step by step. But root was unsuccessful. The Super SU is there. I can update it with market. But the binary fails to update. Can't see any apps in the super su. Should i install stock rom and firmware again and try the same

I would recommend you to do it, but before flashing it back try your root with the on play store called "root checker" and than you can see if you have root

Super SU tries to disable KNOX, and after 2-3 minutes says it cannot remove it.
Isn't it easier just to install TWRP and custom rooted rom?
I have managed to root my Grand Prime SM-G530W and even disabled that FRP lock thing that made my phone stuck in reboot mode after i rooted it. Now my phone is rooted and it works soo i dont know what next. Any help? Kinda lost lol. was a iphone user before soo this is all new stuff to me

Go in developer settings. Disable Oem Lock. something like that. Then enabled Oem Unlocking. Root and it will bypass.

I think I'm doing everything correctly but my phone is not rooted. I'm going to twrp after manually reboot in recovery mode by disconnecting the battery. I'm going to install, checking the last SuperSu zip, everything OK, reboot, but my phone still not rooted. Or is it only what the root checker is declaring. Root access is not properly installed.

Yeah, right, but that post is almost one year outdated. Try with the official TWRP from vince2678. Don't forget to activate OEM unlocking and debug from developers options in stock settings. Cheers.
