Hi, all guys,
can anybody provide any apps to lock 4g network at rooted lollipop of D802
I've tried lots of apps like 4g lte switcher......it's not working ..
Thanks.
If you lock it on 4g most probably you wont receive any call anymore as most networks do not support VoLTE.
If you have xposed, there's an app called intelli3g on Playstore that can do that. If you don't mind me asking, why do you want to have 4g only anyways? The above post + plus signal drops when 4g is unavailable.. But feel free to try
Did you try this?

Not sure about enabling/disabling the 4G part of the phone. Probably possible, but I've never heard of anything like that. More searching probably needs to be done here, you can't be the only person who's asked.
As for rooting and wifi tethering, that depends. I have rooted, loaded G-lite on my phone and wifi tether pretty often, though not with a whole lot of data - no buzz from T-mobile.
You can't bypass the throttle. No two ways about that.
I'd recommend looking at an article about the benefits of rooting concerning your question about other cool things we can do with our rooted phones. Though I will add that G2 roms that enable the FM radio (of which G-Lite is one) are pretty cool - get Spirit FM radio off the market, plug in headphones, and works like a charm.
You can set your network to GSM only, n when u want 4g you can set it to WCDMA. Go to your phone app and enter *#*#4636#*#* then go to phone information, then go down to where it says set preferred network type, n select GSM only, your radio(signal, data) will go off then com back on, n when u want 4g (WCDMA) select WCDMA only or the WCDMA preferred. The wcdma only is what it says, if you loose 4g coverage, u wont have coverage, if you choose the preferred option, it will use 4g and if you loose 4g coverage, it will switch to GSM.

Hi guys
I've been trying to do this since day 1 with this phone. At work I'm in a spot where I get 2 bars of 4G and it reverts back to 3G . This happens all day . Is there a way to turn on LTE only like you can turn on CMDA only?
thanks :good:

I don't think that's possible, as different areas are bound to have weak, strong or very strong signals.
Upppppppppppppppppppppppppp
IO do the opposite. Turn off lte because sometimes I'm getting weak lte but very strong 3g.
use the Telinfo App from the playstore

Finally
with the recent update on my s4, this is now not compatible to my device... any other alternative app? i used to use this a lot. now i miss my lte connection when im in the office.
Firstly, does your network support VoLTE?
VoLTE is not currently supported by any network in the UK, this means you cannot make or receive calls when on 4G.
What happens is when you make or receive a call, your mobile network forces you down onto 3G or even 2G.
Therefore if you find a way to force your phone onto 4G and your network didn't support VoLTE, you will never be able to make or receive calls.
Did it!!
"Advanced Signal Status" from the GooglePlay worked for me on latest 5.0.1 i9515 phone. It was a long time since i wanted to set it work like i needed.. Now my networks are in wcdma/lte only mode, working fine. Recommend!
P.S. Root/Superuser needed
Try adding this line to your features.xml in the csc folder:
<CscFeature_Setting_CustNetworkSelMenu4>LTEONLY</CscFeature_Setting_CustNetworkSelMenu4>
Hi everyone,
I've got the AT&T LG-G2 with 4.4.2, Xposed, Gravity Box, and G2 Tweaks Box.
I've looked through the forums and must simply be missing it; I can't imagine no one has asked the following:
Other day I was in a part of town with 3-4 bars, but no data connection of any kind. A friend gave me this dial code but it only forced 4G for a few minutes before going back to LTE.
Using XPosed or another app/hack, is there a way to force radio reception? My bootloader AFAIK is unlockable.
Also, any Android devs know what intent/intent-filters I could make own app/service to achieve this functionality to turn on automatically?
At work the 4g LTE signal for ATT is very poor in the building, but we have 4g repeaters for ATT to fix this issue. Unfortunately, phones are stubborn and like to stay on 4g LTE despite having 1 bar of signal vs full signal with 4g. I had this same issue on my iphone 5 but was able to easily force off LTE while i was at work and have a steady, reliable data connection. My Note 4 seems to have the same affinity to wanting to be on 1 bar of LTE, but I cannot figure out a way to toggle / force LTE off and just use 4g. Anyone have any ideas? Anyone know of an application I can use to resolve this issue?
Thanks

Unfortunately, there is no option for Network mode on the ATT version. I wonder if this has to do with voLTE....
I did find a backway to the network mode via *#*#4636#*#* but I am unsure of what I should be setting to "disable" lte while I'm in the building at work.
I think I've sorted this out now. If I change LTE/GSM AUTO to WCDMA preferred it seems to immediately switch and hold onto 4G. I do have to change it back. Maybe I will write something so I can quick toggle this since nothing on the app store seems to work.
hi,
If you are rooted ? You can use an xpose module called Intelli3G
I use it on my phone ,works 100% and switches smoothly/fast between eg 4G..3G automatic
eg if my data is of its on 3G as soon as i switch data on /wifi it changes to 4 G
For interest sake ,here is a link to market ,you can read desciption what it does ?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.voidvapps.intelli3g&hl=en
good luck
Hi. On my gm-g900i (australian) s5 i have the latest XtreStoLite installed with the correct bootloader & modem.
For some reason at all times it shows 4g in the status bar, even when i am not in an app that requires internet. It will only drop to 3g when i am in a poor signal area.
Why does this not dynamically change based on apps used, as it did in kit kat? Have i done something wrong? I am after the power saving of 3g for background data, then 4g when using an app like facebook, chrome etc. This was automatic before?
thanks in advance.
If you're in a 4G enabled area, it'll connect to 4G
If you don't want it to, disable mobile data
