Install ES File Explorer. And after this when you click on ringtones options in settings a new window will pop up. And tou will have an explorer option through which you can use any destination folder in your mobile and can use any ringtone.
And for using different ringtones for different apps go into apps personal settings.

I could be on the wrong problem here, but is it giving you the message that that type of file is not compatible with the phone? or something like that?
if so, just use astro file manager (from the market) and go to menue >>more >>preferences >>enable browser downloader and check that.
thats what worked for me

Are you both using the Stock HTC ROM? Rooted? S-OFF?
Have you removed any apps with Titanium Backup?
Bugger I've just started getting this exact problem this morning. Have tried removing so many apps, restarting, etc...oh well guess I'll be doing a device reset to the default firmware.

default ringtone

I was messing around to find the default ringtone for x8 (it rings whenever you don't have SD card present or you have USB cable attached)
but can't find it anywhere, any help ?
Try in /system/media/audio
no luck mate already tried that,
I easily found it using the search button!
See attachments, you have the notification sound too there
oh no, not this, i'm not talking about sony ericsson.ogg, well let me tell you what it sounds like :
Oh I'm sorry, didn't read the whole description
It must be one of these two.
no mate, I think you didn't check my attachment ! and the spooky thing is that I have deleted all files under system/media/audio/ringtones
I don't have any file there, but the ringtone still rings, try plugging your cellphone to a computer in USB mode, then call on your phone, you will get what I mean.
I don't think there are more SE sounds...Anyway I cant listen to your file and I don't have stock ROM (if it needs stock ROM)
ya i'm on stock, but it is really weird.. mate
What if you find a stock rom in a zip format and replace the folder containing those files?
Sent from my Xperia X8 using XDA app
well the point is , I just wanted to replace this default ringtone with my own, but can't find it anywhere at all

hello mate Try this If your Phone is rooted , Open Root explorer then system\media\audio\ui and look for tw_battery_caution.ogg and remove/change the file from that folder and reboot your phone. When your Battery hit 100% there should be no more sound after reaching 100% Might be work or not :S lol

Hi mate, thank you ! Yes, this is the "key" but unfortunally the file you mention is for when there is something wrong with the battery like high temperature e.g.. The file/sound tw_battery_caution.ogg is not the sound used for notification "Battery Full".
I tried alread all .ogg files with "search" but it is driving me crazy ... none of them was like notification battery full.
Or I overlooked one ... so if someone knows the name of the file I send him/her 1000 Thank you's

You can't without root ur device and use Xposed Framework. That emoji u are using convert the SMS to MMS but you have other option for avoid it: Go to Messaging - Create new message - MenĂº button - Insert smiley (pic attached). Done :highfive:

Hi thanks for the tip but my phone is already rooted. I've searched everywhere and others are talking about Secmms.apk but I don't really get how to do it.
