The battery life is way better!! Since last night at 730pm I am still at 75%, streamed about two hours of music, used GPS to get to work. I mean it's draining so slow that I am impressed so far! The thing just won't go down!
I have the command center widget on auto location, Facebook, Instagram on. Loving it!
I can only hope...my battery life has SUCKED recently

I'm a truck driver, GPS is always on so no matter which phone I get I always have to charge it twice a day. I'm a very heavy user, not only that I use roughly 50 / 100gbs a month of data. The turbos battery is finally doing good unlike before which is was OK. Still needa more testing but these are my first impressions.
I've had the s6, sold it and currently have a droid Turbo and the nexus 6.
Also adguard is working flawlessly on this non rooted Turbo, no adds on chrome!

The phone as constantly updated maps, and if you use something like Waze, you get traffic alerts and such.

I have a GPS with lifetime map updates, but I prefer using my phone. Fewer devices, plugs, wires, Bluetooth connections, and more options.

Honestly Google maps and waze are so good that it's just never let me down and a Garmin truck GPS cost 200+$.. I'm not over the road, I drive local so I usually know where I'm going and just turn the GPS on for just a little bit. If I drove over the road I'd def buy a GPS.

My battery wasnt that great the first day. I did a factory reset. Today is day 2 and it improved. My Google services is the number 2 drainer. I'm thinking it might need a few days to settle in

Battery life has been epic for me . again all played moto. All we need now is an unlocked bootloader and the turbo will be better than the n6
Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
Battery life has been incredible after the 5.1 update! I'm completely floored at how noticeable the difference is. I've been using my phone for 2 hours straight (podcasts, Web browsing, email, etc.) and I'm still at 90%. On a related point, my battery hasn't gone above 92 degrees, which must be good. New software must be well optimized.
I had the Maxx before the Turbo and always thought the Maxx battery life was better, but now I think the Turbo may have surpassed it. Unreal.

Hello all. I am going camping for 5 days and I was wondering how I can get the best battery life out of my phone on 1 charge. (I won't have any electricity for 5 days)
I am currently using cnote's port of ice cold sandwich Rossi edition. I will be only using my phone for playing music and taking pictures. The phone will be in airplane mode for 5 days.
My question is if its good to idle it for 5 days in airplane mode or shut it down if it won't be used for more than 5 hours? Does it require more power when booting or does it consume less battery power when idling?
Thanks in advance.

The Indian's recommendation is good.
I would shut it off at night. Airplane mode will save LOTS of juice, but nothing saves power like being off for hours. Lol.
You might also consider one of those portable external chargers. They're pretty cheap.

They have campsites with wi-fi? Daaaamn. I've got to find one of those.
Sorry for being brief, if you only need it for 5 hours of just listening to music and reading ebooks, any rom other than sense 4 and stock will serve you well. Underclock so CPU max is 700ish (thats all you need) and turn it off completely if you aren't using it. I also recommend buying an external battery from amazon. Anker makes nice big ones of like $20

I believe he meant there will periods of, maybe, 5 hours where he won't be using it and he wanted to know if it would be better to leave it on for those periods or turn it off.

I agree with external charger, will definitely come in handy.
ROM wise, any of them should be good, but its better to stay off ICS+.
GB is guaranteed stable for the Glacier, best battery life too.

My play music has been crashing and now I am upset that I can't use it at all. That was my main source of music. I can't even load it. Force closes as soon as I start it. I need to use the offline mode to save songs for camping.
I cleared cache. Set permissions and re flashed the newest gapp as well. Still crashing. Can't even load play music.
Oh well. Airdroiding songs to SD now.
I should flash cm 7 honestly but doesn't it take a couple of days for a new rom to normalize? I leave tomorrow and icecoldRossi is amazing battery life with frosted cherry now.
Technology ugh....

Pretty much anything non-sense by TDJ. I swear everything I've gotten at least 3 days with use on every one of his roms/kernels.
I've even gotten 2 days on DARKSIDE sense. But it's always a good idea to keep an external charger if you're going to be gone for a while. Whenever I go on a business trip, even though I know that there will be available outlets, I always keep an external charger in case anything happens. Plus, it's always nice to not have to stick around a wall when you're charging your phone and have to use it at the same time.
I was just curious if you use Google Now or turn it off.

Besides, the battery drain isn't too bad with GNow (Siri is definitely worse XD)

Not true. Last Friday I accidentally left my phone in my office, and it stayed there for the entire weekend with wifi on and connected to the internet. When I went back to work on Monday, it still had 4% battery left. That's a standby time of 63.5 hrs (I left office at 5.30 and returned at 9). In addition, my office is in a rural area, so cellphone signal strength is horrendous.
Google Now is awesome, I use it all the time! Also due to the nature of the app, you don't even have to remember to use it, it does things for you,
I disable google's anti-privacy features (I disable search history and don't log in to the web browser on my phone). So it does me absolutely no good because it can't predict what's going on in my life. Flight reservations aren't even delivered to my gmail inbox. (They go somewhere dedicated so I know which companies let spammers get my e-mail address. I'm looking at you, Dropbox!)
Google Now can't even correctly predict what time I leave work, and transit time rarely varies where I live. It short, it's neat but absolutely useless as far as I can tell. I'm disabling it right now. Maybe I'll turn it on again while traveling, but it didn't really help me at all while traveling--just showed me things I already had a better app for, like the current time back home.
Well I'm normally leave mine on but I believe I'm going to turn it off and see how well it does for a day or 2.

I'm pretty sure that's one of the ways we can take in order to save a bit more battery, but then again, why are we buying high-end devices with GPS tracking for whatever apps or security as I have (cerberus app) or real-time mails of work, social feed, etc.
Someone will say that they don't need instant mails on the device or don't want the GPS; point is, having GPS/push notifications should not be an issue for any user since those are the features we can, want, could use..
Only thing I really miss on blackberry devices...
This did not happen before which makes it strange, well at least not having that much percentage.

My wifi always shows it's connected as a solid blue line, but I've been on LTE all day.
Might be a rogue app running in the background or something? I use the Active Apps widget and randomly end programs from time to time while clearing up the RAM as well. Hopefully it's just a rogue app or bad battery?

You're definitely not getting what you should. Look at my stats, a lot of wifi but also not as much held awake time on my phone considering what I have as Battery time. Take a look around there's things you can disable like bloatware that may be holding your phone from sleeping. Also see if you can reconfigure that one app, maybe it updates to often. I don't usually have any app drain more then kernel and the android system.
Or its your battery if you've done all that.

I was having that same problem when first got my phone. I'm pretty sure it was the new themer application it, worked fine until I uninstalled it, then my battery constantly needed to be charged. To originally fix it I backed up and factory reset it then it seemed to be working fine but now that I'm rooted I have been using greenify and it works like a dream. It tells you in better detail what's draining your battery and what wakes it up in your background as it tries to sleep. Now I get about 22 hours with pretty regular usage
With 56 minutes on screen time, I should get close to ten hours... you must have an app that is killing your battery or that uses data alot

I greenified a lot of the stupid apps like My Magazine or disabled them outright

Do you have any stats on screen-on time? Because if your screen is on for 5 of those 7 hours, that could be doing it.
If you don't have those stats, I think Better Battery Stats will get those for you. Also, if you're already sending it in, then you might be able to request a new battery anyways.
This is only my second day using the moto x and coming from an HTC One and a One X before it which both had what I thought was great battery life, I can definitely say that the screen on time I got today is absolutely unheard of! And this is while seeing the phone up, installing mods and apps, etc.
