Getting back to stock(Q) - Galaxy S3 Neo Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone
So I have cm12.1 installed on my phone and I want to return back to the stock 4.4.2 touchWiz rom
So after I downloaded the rom from Sammobile..Should I flash it via odin (If so, then tell me how please)
Or via recovery
by keeping in mind that my root is broken..Its like I am totally unrooted..but I have recovery installed..Will it work flashing via recovery without root or I have to flash it via odin?

1st thing is to do.....
Download samsung usb drivers for your device. Go to samsung official website and find your mobile's usb drivers. Download them and install them in your computer.
Then
Go to mobile settings> General> About Device and click on Build Number 7 times. You will get Developers Options just above the About Device. ( take a look at attachments) go into Developers Options and enable USB Debugging there ( take a look at attachments)
.
Now download odin 3.09 from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...08-2013-odin-3-09-odin-1-85-versions-t2189539
.
Odin will be in zip format. Extract it to desktop and launch it. Extract your firmware also to desktop.
.
If you have kies installed on your PC, de install it. Then turn off your device. And press power button and Volume Down button at the same time. You will go into download mode. (Release both buttons) For confirmation press Volume up button (not with power button).
.
Now connect your mobile to pc through usb cable. And place it somewhere safely and don't touch it again or make any movement to it.
.
Look at odin. Click on PDA or PD button put your extracted firmware file into it. It will take some time to load when it loaded, it will show you. Now hit start button. Don't touch any other button on odin ok for complete guide go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Odin_mode

you have to flash with odin
click on pda then select rom file
connect phone in download mode & click start

I think download link on xda has been removed. Go to sammobile.com and there you can download odin 3.09 from that page where you have got your firmware downloading confirmation.

You can download it from Google. Just Google it bro. If you have any problem just ask me.

There will be no difference. Odin will replace the old one with a new one. But if you are scared you can wiped out your mobile through custom recovery and then go for odin.

[Help] How to install ZIP stock firmware from Samsung

I have a Galaxy S4 i9506 model SHV E300S from SK Telecom (Korea). I can't update it via OTA as I'm currently in the Philippines and don't have a SKT Sim which is required. Kies is also not pushing any updates for me. So I searched the web and saw a firmware here: http://live.samsung-updates.com/index.php?device=SHV-E300S
My question is how to install this firmware to my phone? I only have Philz recovery installed but my phone is not rooted as I don't know why the guides aren't working for me. I also have another problem, as I can't boot to download mode since I have a Philz recovery installed. Please help me as 4.3 is really and eats up the battery of my phone. Thank you very much!
U have to unzip the file which u got from that site.. u will get .tar.md5 file inside the zip.. download odin and flash that file using odin.. if u dont know how to use odin then google is ur best frnd in this case..

[Q] N900 Rooted With Custom ROM to Lollipop?

i've been reading this thread over in the General discussions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/general/lollipop-ota-note-3-n900-started-t2973773
i currently have K14-Dr.Ketan custom ROM flashed to my phone:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2519897
and my recovery is TWRP v2.7.1.0
the CSC code is: INU.
at first, i thought i couldn't update to the Lollipop update because its CSC code is XXV/THL
but then i saw a reply somewhere in the midst saying to flash a 4.4.2 version to change my code to the proper one.
i'm not entirely sure what to do. any help would be much appreciated!

It take time to change csc code.
Read this topic and change to XXV.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2342328
so i don't understand a few things in regard to the steps...
1b. You are on stock ROM but is on other's region firmware and is rooted (based on Samsung official firmware). Same, just download your stock latest update firmware from sammobile.com first. Which contains your region's CSC.
Click to collapse
so since my stock custom ROM is INU-based, i go and download the INU firmware?
2. Ok, now both are on a stock ROM but rooted, check your CSC using the CSC Changer app.
3. If not working, then install ES File Explorer from Playstore or link below (recommended) or other file browser with Root access ability. Open the side menu and select Root Explorer.
Click to collapse
i only found one app in the Play Store with this name, and it's 0.99 cents, before i buy it, is that the correct one? or if i don't want to buy it, i just continue with step 3?
7. Alright all done, reboot your phone first. Then reset the BIN counter using Triangle Away. (Again, friendly reminder: Do not enter CWM Recovery again as it will increase the BIN counter) Reboot and put your phone in Download mode. Flash the stock ROM you've downloaded though ODIN.
Click to collapse
so if i go with the ES File Explorer route, i can then go straight into flashing the Lollipop firmware?
also, do i need the app Triangle Away? if i don't care about the BIN counter?
my goal is to be unrooted, on Lollipop, with/without Knox counter tripped.
It doesnt matter INU or whatever region. As long as your device is N900 , Just download NJ3 firmware with XXV region which download link given in that post or download from sammobile.
Secondly, better to do factory reset after u flashed NJ3.
3. No need to buy csc changer. Just install free"phone info" from play store and check ur csc and if not xxv, change ur csc code to xxv with that "phone info" application.
4. You may need to flash NJ3 again or wipe data until u see ur csc is xxv.
5. Follow the instruction about lollipop post.
6. You can skip supersu 2.40 step if u dont want a root.

i ended up following the "new" method posted to the original topic. and just in case anyone finds this thread, here are the exact steps i took:
1. Flash TWRP via ODIN
Click to collapse
i was using Odin 3.09. put your N900 into download mode by powering it off, then holding the Vol Down + Home Button + Power Button.
then within Odin, click on the "AP" button and browse for the "openrecovery-twrp-2.8.1.0-ha3g.img.tar" file, and click the Start button
1.1 Enter TWRP and create Backup. (To safe)
Click to collapse
boot to custom recovery by having your N900 powered off, then holding the Vol Up + Home Button + Power Button.
perform a nandroid backup, and reboot the phone back into Android
1.2. Copy unziped file at /twrp/4d00279c40989079/2014-12-18--00-18-21 LRX21V.N900XXUEBNL4 to phone /twrp/xxxxxx/2014-12-18--00-18-21 LRX21V.N900XXUEBNL4 where xxxxxx is unique generated for your device
Click to collapse
now that your phone is backed up, copy the extracted "TWRP-LRX21V.N900XXUEBNL4-samsungviet.vn.zip" to your nandroid backup location
2. Enter TWRP -> Wipe -Swipe to Factory Reset
Click to collapse
boot back into custom recovery (holding the Vol Up + Home Button + Power Button.)
3. Return TWRP Home -> Restore -> Select "2014-12-18--00-18-21 LRX21V.N900XXUEBNL4"
Click to collapse
select the extracted folder as your restore state
4. Select everything to restore
Click to collapse
for me, there was only 3 choices to select, and they were already pre-selected.
5. When finish Restore, return TWRP Home -> Reboot -> Download
Click to collapse
i had to power off the phone instead of using TWRP to reboot into Download Mode, then do the Vol Down + Home Button + Power Button.
6. Flash Bootloader 5.0 (without Auto Reboot) then pull out battery and re-enter download mode
Click to collapse
then in Odin, click the "BL" button and browse for the "bootloader-5.0.tar" and click Start
7. Flash stock recovery (with auto reboot)
Click to collapse
after pulling the battery and putting it back in. boot to Download Mode again (Vol Down + Home Button + Power Button)
in Odin, click on the "AP" button, and browse for the "recovery.tar" and click Start
8. First boot will take 5-10 mins.
Click to collapse
voila. done.
BLUETOOTH FIX
Flash cwm via odin (dont tick auto reboot)
Take off batre and cable. And take on again.
Press volume up + home + power button and get in recovery mode (cwm).
Flash bluetooth dix from this forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...-roms-t2938607)
Get in the download mode and flash stock recovery.
reboot and you can use your bluetooth again
Click to collapse
although i don't understand this step.
it says to flash CWM even though the previous steps have you flash TWRP. (edit: and then the previous steps have you flash stock recovery)
then it says to flash the ZIP file within the custom recovery, boot to download mode, and flash stock recovery?
any help on this part?
Just consider yourself that you are now using android L which is with stoch recovery after u have done all procedure. And yes u facing bluetooth error.
So u have to flash custom recovery( CWM) to flash bluetooth fix zip. May be u can use twrp again to flash bluetoothfix zip.

oh yeah, duh. step 7- flash stock recovery.
so i tried to flash TWRP again and i received an error in Odin. i'm thinking it's because i have to root again.
without root, i can't fix the bluetooth then?
I dont think u need root for that.
May be u change ur recovery to CWM than twrp and flash bluetooth fix

I can't get into any menu using any method of pressing buttons. Not even normal boot up, unless I flash recovery in odin every time. I wanted to flash the fitting version of CM11 i tried using TWRP the app and flashify to flash the zip, but no luck. I've searched everywhere!

It sounds like you have to Odin back to stock (I had the same problem and that's how I fixed it). Next time when you try installing, download the TWRP img file and use an app called Flashify from the Play Store to install

At first ,emergency exit from download mode : hold on Power , Volume down about 10-20sec .
At second , you may to flash in download mode anything again : firmware , recovery , etc .
My advice : to flash TWRP recovery . For example from here https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=29953

Yes
First goto download mode in mobile by pressing
Power+home+volume down buttons at same time for 5 seconds
Extract the twrp zip and load it in odin in AP tab
Then
Then connect to system and flash twrp via odin
Then
In twrp recovery clear data, internal, cache, dalvik and preload
Then flash the rom zip from sd card
You'll need to flash TWRP via ODIN first. Or you can use CF-Root and then install TWRP using TWRPManager but that would also require an Odin flash. Considering your "usb connector" isn't working, I cant think of any possible way.
Did you try changing the usb wire?
G900F using XDA App
yes my friend it is the problem I can not use odin because the usb isn't working that is why i need to flash via micro sd, and yes I did changing usb wire as well
If your phone already has root you can download flashfire from playstore and use that to install the update from your SD card, either an Odin .tar file or a zip file.
Yes daroco my S5 is rooted and I have flashfire as well ,but what recovery TWRP Do I need to flash for this way? thx
Use original Samsung cable and check if it works
yash92duster my friend I am using original Samsung cable, but the problem is same, I am sure I have corrupted files on my Rom , that is why i want to flash the Rom to fix that issue

I had it but it was replaced with the original menu. If you can link me to the twrp install and files I can proceed from there
Just deselect auto reboot odin

Before trying to help with this, can you tell me if you were on MM 6.0 or LP 5.1?
And the version number for Odin that you are using also?
You may be having a conflict between the Odin version number, and the last Modem filed installed on your phone, in which case you need to have the absolute correct version of Odin for the package, otherwise itll fail at "NAND WRITE START!" Forever.
The Odin versions are V3.10=Lollipop & V3.11=Marshmallow. I'm really hoping that's the issue man that's an easy fix and otherwise the only thing i could suggest is
Go to TWRP>Settings, and hit the "Fix Contexts" button.
Extract the stock firmware with 7z or whatever.
Take the recovery.img file, place it onto your device,
Hit Install and change from viewing zip only to img flashables with button @ bottom,
Flash your recovery.img to the recovery area with TWRP,
Reboot first into the recovery mode, do a factory reset with it ( this should return it to the stock binary platform),
If all this pans out so far bro go ahead and try download mode and ODIN stock firmware again.
If you hit a bump let me know I'll try to help, hopefully its the easy fix though lol.
