Full disclosure,
if my understanding is correct, This method Will trip the Knox bit.
Do not try this method if you wish for your Knox status to remain intact.
instaling custom recovery trips knox, but who cares, even samsung doesnt(in india) still claimed warrenty even after triping knox. even went for a replacement.
Thailand also strict on a KNOX status when RMA..

Not enterily show what you are referencing
When you boot up the phone and see the giant Samsung Galaxy Edge letters,,,underneath that there is a lock icon that is unlocked and it says custom underneath that,,,is that what it is supposed to look like after rooting,,,,,reason I ask cause it used to have something like that on the boot splash screen when you have an unlocked bootloader. I have a Verizon S6 Edge and know that cant be.

I don't think so, feel free to try but you are doing it at you're own risk, I do not recommend it.
i have a problem after doing everything after the instructions, after the restart only shows the red text on left top corner and after that the logo on bottom, but after that both bottom led's (back and setting button) flash really fast and nothing else happens. i can tuch the screen it vibrates, but nothing else, no picture whatsoever.
Doesnt work for me on 925F.. Root works, but can't install TWRP. i get bootloop.

Hello, I am having problems with rooting my galaxy note 3 model SM-N900R4 on US cellular. I followed the instructions on true-android.blogspot.com
My problem comes when It gets stuck after the root and stays to the title screen "Samsung Galaxy Note 3". There will be the Seandroid error In the top left corner too. I restart the phone by going to download mode and selecting cancel to reboot the phone. Everything passed in Odin 3.07 and i went to root checker after the reboot and saw that I'm not rooted. Please help, I'm on android 4.3 Stock.

Not necessarily but if you had one installed, you can just flash supersu to gain root.
I'm eager to root my 4.3/mje note3 but my last phone was an s3 rooted through twrp. I (a noob) have forgotten how to use Odin and install custom roms through any other method. Would some patient soul please point me to the process?
It's probably a sticky here some where. Thanks!

Hi.
Yesterday I root my device with CF-Auto Root and flash a new recovery, Philz Touch. Now everytime I turn on my device, on the boot screen appears two lines, one red and other yellow, they say " Kernel is not seandroid enforcing " and " set warranty bit: kernel ".
Can someone help me how to remove this two lines every time I turn on or restart my device??? Really I don't like....
My phone is Galaxy S4 GT-i9505 LTE.
Thanks in advance.
Someone.... please...
It's normal. If you don't like it you need to unroot.

Don't hold your breath. Very capable people (like Chainfire) have been working on reseting KNOX since the Galaxy S4 was released, which was almost 2 years ago, and they still haven't found a way to reset KNOX. It is quite possible there is no way to reset KNOX without specialized hardware.

Forget about resetting knox right now. It can't be done. The guy who released Towelroot on the Note 3 now works for Samsung I think lol. Look all over XDA...there is no way to reset knox right now, period. Maybe one day but don't hold your breath.

Of course no! It was just a special bootloader. Service bootloader, which resets Knox warranty bit. All you need to do - is flash that bootloader via ODIN, boot it, make factory reset, and than - flash pure stock firmware. And you will get KNOX bit resetted. But - since stock firmware doesn't have root - after flashing root you will have that bit to 1 again. And this can be done unlimited times. I can prove it.
But there is no such solution for Note 4 yet. One man had a test phone, and there was a test bootloader, but he was complete noob to tell it everyone, and 20 minutes after - flashed stock firmware and lost that boot... But there will be another person.

All I was trying to say was there is no known way to reset Knox on the Note 4. I think you're post was misleading because it makes it sound like there is. Older phones are not a valid comparison. The day that our note 4 knox counter can be reset there will be threads all over XDA sharing the info. As of today and for the forseeable future it is simply not possible.
Now is there any way to use knox app without this reset ?

Short answer: No
Long answer: Nooooooooooooooooooooooo, never as in the Note 4 it is an efuse (as others have said elsewhere) and can not be reset
there has been a way told in this thread..check it yourself.
http://www.mobilecentre.pl/how-to-reset-flash-counter-in-samsung-note-4/
Download TriangleAway.
Open APK as a ZIP and extract: assets/triangleaway.png (file).
Copy triangleaway.png file into system/xbin folder on your phone and set 755 permissions.
Download and flash with ODIN this FILE ( http://mobilecentre.pl/files/RESET.BOE3.tar ) , which will change binary status in download mode to official value.
Reboot your device and flash TWRP using dd install method(!).
Reboot into recovery mode. Choose option Mount, and check System, then select Advanced>Terminal Command>Select and type: system/xbin/triangleaway.png –reset. Press Go button. As you can see, your flash counter has been reset!
Now reboot into download mode and flash again file from point 4. or full stock ROM.

Heya guys,
I've read through so many websites and forum posts but always when I think I have found the right thing for me, the model number, baseband version and/or build number varies...
All I want to do is root my phone. If there's a safe way to do this without tripping that KNOX whatever, that would be great but not even the most important to me.
And if it is possible I would also like to get Android 4.4.4 installed. Strangely, my phone says it is up to date (4.4.2) but I'm seeing people having 4.4.4 on theirs...
If there's something like a pack to get both, the update and the root, that would be mint!
Either way, I would be very thankful if someone could point me to a place where my exact device could get its appropriate files.
Model number: GT-I9301I
Baseband version: I9301IXXUANF2
Build number: KOT49H.I9301IXCUANJ4
you have the gt-i9301i so latest version for your device is 4.4.2 , but 4.4.4 is available for dual sim variant gt-i9300i you can root it i'll post the link below and navigate through the android devloppement section and find a rom that suits you then install it
link for root : http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...overy-t-r-p-samsung-galaxy-s3-neo-gt-t2906840
Heya, thanks for the answer!
Ah, so there's also a dual sim variant. Mean that only they get the 4.4.4 update
So, on that link you gave me... do I need that stuff in the first post or is it enough for me to load and process the stuff in the second post (under 2nd Method I guess?)?
you choose which method you want to use then you're good to go
Yeah, but lets say I choose that "2nd Method ( Odin method )" - do I ALSO need that stuff from the first post (TWRP) or is that not needed then?

No . I personally rooted my device with cf auto root. After I launched the SuperSU it removed KNOX
Hm, I think you misunderstood my question. KNOX seems to be removed already.
But there's still that other thing with the yellow triangle (years ago, one needed 'Triangle Away' to remove it), right? Or has Samsung given up on that when they introduced KNOX?

Recently had my s7 edge rooted with the guide that says root and knox still good.
Just used the part of the guide where it says unroot I'm back on stock firmware but now I can't take an Ota it fails and I can't use samsung pay. I was wondering if I did something wrong or there is a step in missed and need to do ?
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
You have to Odin a stock firmware.
That's what I did
What does Settings - About phone - Status - "Phone status" say? It should say "Official".
Also booting to Download Mode (phone off, hold Power/Vol Down/Home at same time, then press Vol Up when prompted) to confirm that "System Status" should read "Samsung Official" or "Official".
You can also install this app, KNOX Status Samsung, and it'll tell you your Knox Status.
If Knox is not valid, you will not be able to use Samsung Pay, and once Knox is tripped, there is no undoing that.
Only reason I can't be on root either is because even with all the power saving functions I've had enabled through root, it didn't have as good battery saving as stock unrooted.
But yeah, try to make sure you didn't do something to trip KNOX.
Yeah that's the odd thing I downloaded the knox checker and it says the warranty is valid

Does your baseband version match your build number? You only need to look at the last 3 digits. If they don't match then you flashed the wrong update file onto your phone.

Here you go this might work I found this on the regular s7 forum........
For those of you who want to go back to stock and are having trouble with any updates i have found a fix.
(only do this if u want to go 100% back to stock and want to update to current software and future updated software. If u want to stay on PG2 software and never update, then ignore this post)
In the instructions on how to flash back to stock, the OP only included 3 files u had to flash using Odin (AP, CP and CSC). follow those steps up to the point where everything is flashed back to stock and your phone has rebooted to home screen. After that, power off your phone and restart to download screen (hold home, power button and volume down at same time)
once u are booted to the download mode screen, open odin and select BL and find the BL file that came with your stock folder. Once its loaded, hit start and let Odin flash it. Your phone will reboot and you will be able to update your phone to any new software released.
I had a problem trying to update to PG1 after reflashing to stock. My update would crash at 32%. This will fix that issue.
