I am having a problem with my data and wifi connection they both disconnect and then instantly reconnect every couple of minutes, at first I thought it was my rom (miui us) however I changed my rom to a cm7 based rom and it still happens, any ideas please? Thanks in advance, Ryan

The fix for wifi has been submitted to the dev team, but it hasn't been implemented by them yet, so it isn't a part of CyanogenMod yet. There was a build floating somewhere around this forum that contained the fix, but I can't find it right now. Maybe someone else will have better luck.
Hello how do u launch wifi tethering in this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1542911 by locerra
I don't think its in the ROM yet? Under Wireless & Networks its absent under "more", at least for the SCH-i815.
That's where it would be for the P6800/P6810.

I know the phone won't have WiFi calling because it will have no Carrier tie ins. But i am not familiar with how WiFi calling works. I assume its in the kernel and some sort of framework edit.
Is it possible?

Exactly ! It is absolutely possible but it might be a while before it is 100% stable since its kinda of a lot of work and normally doesn't attract a lot if DEVS due to fact that only works in T-Mobile USA and its not exactly glamorous work (like a ROM or a super fast OC UV KERNEL)
Im not sure why it isnt on the s4 its my biggest let down with this fantastic phone. I did a few search's i havnt seen any fixs. Why has this been removed?
Why would you want to? Hotspot is all you need.

I found it uses way less energy then the wifi hot spot.

Im suprised more people havnt complained about it. With a non mobile network nexus 7 it was very good. Im guessing they took it out cause of slow speed but it still worked great for navigation

Every time you turn on your WiFi you're being logged and tracked.
Spy agency tracked passengers for days through free Wi-Fi
http://news.nationalpost.com/2014/0...wi-fi-at-a-major-canadian-airport-cbc-report/
That's why your carrier allows for WiFi tether but disable Bluetooth tethering to encourage users to use wifi and be tracked by the government.
I am using the Resurrection rom an my Nexus 6p, Fi activated and it says fi network, also data works. Does that mean project fi is using both towers as intended? I know project fi isn't supposed to work on cyanogenbased roms? or am I lucky and project Fi is working
I would like to know as well. I'm a big fan of RR and I will be activated my Project Fi sim either today or tomorrow.

I have made successful calls and text incoming/outgoing, I am going to continue using RR with Fi it seems to be fine, The only thing I am concerned about is if I'm only using sprint or only using T-mobile towers

Download SignalCheck Lite or FiSwitch, find out what network you're currently on, then force switch to the other carrier.
They both work fine so fi is good on cm for now I think RR is a go for flash

Great news! Hopefully, the Fi public WiFi vpn will work for you as well.

I am going to go to a public wifi hotspot tomorrow and try, Ill update the progress
I went to a place where a got FI VPN on stock all the time, didnt seem to work, I am going to try and find a workaround for it
Wow! This is the only reason I have kept 100% stock on mine. In the past, only T-Mobile would work on AOSP Rom's. Does wifi calling work? Does it auto switch, or you were only able to force switch it? If those things work, I might take the plunge. Thanks for being the guinea pig on this!
It should autoswitch, the only issue I have is when I try to enable the VPN In the google network settings it will crash and won't startup, other then that fi seems to be fine with me, apps tracking data and its all good, fi is such a great service
