I'm new so please help, not hurt. I have looked every where but can't find a thread on rooting a Samsung Galaxy S5 developer device on Verizon. I bought it right from Samsung in May of 2015. It came out of the box running Lollipop 5.0. Does this mean I have to down grade to Kitkat before rooting? Can someone please direct me to the proper thread. Am I screwed?

I'm a total newbie when it comes to rooting devices. I've never done it before but I wanted to give it a shot. I have the Samsung Galaxy S3 Developer Edition and have tried to find tutorials to root the device with no success. Tutorials I found don't apply because the build version for the Samsung Galaxy S3 Developer Edition are not the same. Has anyone rooted the Developer Edition successfully? It'd be great to get some help.
And just for a little backstory, I needed a new phone and saw the Samsung Galaxy S3 Developer Edition was on sale for cheaper than the one straight from Verizon which is why I bought it. It didn't occur to me that the Developer Edition has no support at all.
Thanks for any feedback any of you can provide.

Wrong thread. Your model isn't the I9300. Following anything on this thread will most likely brick your phone.
Good day.
Its just like a normal SCH-I535 but the bootloader is already unlocked....so your one step ahead?

Hi guys,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 AT&T variant running Android 4.4.2. I am not in the US, and I do not have an AT&T sim so I cannot upgrade it to Android 5 Lollipop over the air.
I have searched all over the internet and also on this forum, and I'm very confused because I've read some conflicting reports on the upgrade path for this device.
Some articles mention I need to upgrade to android 4.4.4 before I can upgrade to android 5. Others do not.
My bootloader is not rooted, nor do I want to root it. I mention this because I have read in multiple places the rooting the G900A is a huge pain in the ass, and also that once you upgrade, Lollipop's bootloader cannot be rooted.
I have attached a screenshot of the baseband, kernel and build information. I would be eternally grateful if you could help me with this upgrade.
Mir.
