Firmware OTA update arrived for international G4 H815 (V10B, June 23) - G4 General

So today after manually checking for update I got this. Update weights 180 mb, took about 5 minutes to install it. Did not noticed any visual changes so far, will dig it further. Uploaded some screenshots.
If you got this update, please feel free to share your impressions. Performance improvements, visual tweaks, or any new bugs?

Still nothing here. Think i'm gonna connect it by LG Bridge to check it.

Please check touch screen test

I could confirm the 10b update arrived right now on mine H815 EU.
Hoping they fixed the slow charging problem.

I've just checked using LG Bridge and says no update available. Looks like i have to wait for OTA and it arrives to my country (no carrier locked btw).

what should it be

I tried MultiTouch Test app, and I can say it feels the same as I had before. I won't say I had any major problems with touchscreen, but I will agree that it feels not as sensitive as my previous HTC One, so sometimes (pretty rare, though) I got those unregistered taps. Maybe that screen protector which came out of the box is the case here, but I wont take it off till my tempered glass arrives.

Mine was shipped with VX10b-EUR-XX
H815 USA
IDK its the same .

None of these. Battery life is enough for my daily basics. No heat issues or lagging. It does charge ok, but did not tried quick charging yet.

But some of g4 users says that they have heat or lagging issue. Did you try heavy 3d games on your phone?

please , users have updated to 10b, use this link http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn= (fill your IMEI after =) and check if you see KDZ link

Android Central hmzzz don't believe everything they are saying.
They also said you loose image quality /features in the camera if you unlock the bootloader which isn't true.
Notice any differences in how it operates? No notice of any available update on my device as of yet...

Some users on their forum also says that. ATT got it 2 days before and we are getting it to.
I hope they move dual window back to back button. Thats all i need.
I have a H815. So i don't think I will receive an update then

Pretty sure its true, but ATT's was only like 25mb
What I don't understand as an EU G4 user.
Why does T-mobile provide an update? Is it an update on their software? Or is LG involved?
Are there specific T-mobile apps on it?
I got the update this morning. To answer a couple of questions: No, no new apps. Dual window is still in the same place.
I dont notice anything right offhand different, but I havent done much with my phone yet this morning. Heres a capture of my info:

T-Mobile (as well as most carriers) ship out the updates after they've approved the changes. I would imagine this is to ensure that nothing being updated will affected their carrier's included Spam (I mean added software) or network connectivity. Last thing they want is their stores or customer service lines inundated with "help! The update broke my cellular connection!" claims.

If you do notice anything of real substance, please post it so that we can know. For now, I think I will avoid connecting to WiFi until I know what this update actually does. I've never been a fan of generic changelogs...
But then it's a little bit strange that the international version. Hasn't got the update.
So you could assume it has to do with their spam apps.
Maybe it fixes the touchscreen issue. I haven't gotten an update yet, and I've switched back to my S5 for now.

Could have to do with any number of kernel/lib/framework related items specific to carrier. Could be cellular radio related, WiFi related (wifi calling has been weird on my phone...doesn't want to seem to connect but I have awesome reception where I live, so I don't need it), etc...
Has your version had any updates in last week or two? If so, it might just be that the carriers are just now approving that update and pushing out to the devices.

That is true for certain phones. Like the Sony phones.
Sweet. Pretty quick imo. Look forward to seeing if it fixes some small issues I've been having (touch/tap misses and knock settings). I know knock settings are a longshot, but it would be nice to be able to configure them to each persons liking. I'd love to be able to turn off the "drag one finger down to quick view the clock/status"
I got my update overnight.
Phone updated without any warning or notice when I woke up this morning. CHecked the software version and it was the new one.
I havent noticed any differences as of yet.
Actually I just looked at my phone and already running version h I wonder if from the factory there were two different images

No I haven't got any updates on my version (H815).
Got the update and my phone starting shaking and jumping around on my desk. When the update was complete it turned into a Galaxy S6
Since they are already working on root and unlock I wouldn't take the ota just yet. Ive got a replacement on the way so once I get the update I'll take it on the one I'm returning and see if any changes. Ill also do a system dump on the new version too if necessary.

Update to Korean LG G4 fixes certain issues with the phone

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Update-to-Korean-LG-G4-fixes-certain-issues-with-the-phone_id71184
PhoneArena reader reveal that the update takes care of a problem that results in the phone overheating when certain apps have been running for a long time. Other changes include an improvement to the touchscreen that allows it to be responsive even when using a thick screen protector. Visibility has been improved to make the screen clearer only in bright areas .

I have a Korean LG G4. If you know someone that would help me pull necessary files, I'd gladly do it.
I have a feeling I'm in the vast minority with a Korean specific LG G4 here on XDA, so the least I can do is help out while waiting for an exploit to unlock the bootloader and root.

So you received this update? If it isn't too much could you answer some questions?
1. Were you experience touch issues before? If so did this update fix it completely?
2 Do you notice the device heating up less?

H990ds TWN Security patch?

I haven't received the last security patch in my V20. I have the H990ds TWN variant.
Should I be worried?

LG sux big time, latest firmware is from December 2016 ?

You probably won't receive it either.
Go to this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/restore-v20-to-100-stock-bricked-devices-t3524903
From the given link download the following firmware to update:
H990ds10e_OPEN_SG_DS_OP_0314.kdz
Follow the instructions in the OP to update with the above firmware you downloaded. It's easy, but be aware the .kdz file is something like 2.8GB.
You will then have the latest security patch for your V20 variant, 1 March 2017.

This a way to update, but keep in mind that you will NOT get any OS updates anymore. That is because your phone is not original branded anymore.
Correct!
But we haven't been getting updates anyway.
So I'm happy with this, and occasionally checking for future updates and installing when found.

Most regions have recent updates till march/april 2017, except the TWN version. I am afraid that we are part of the very unlucky few..........
Yeah but we still have an incredible piece of kit.

But what are the differences between these software versions (a,b,c....,g)
As far as I know the only benefit I gained was the security patch update.
I've not had any official OTA update from LG.
Also I have no idea what the position is with other variants.

I compared the system files between the C(TWN) and E(SGN) version with FX Explorer. A lot of system files have a update. So it is absolutly more than just security updates.
Okayyyyyy

OK, in a nutshell....
Having only read online reviews I liked the V20 more.
Then after picking up my G6 and handling it for about 90 minutes I wasn't so sure....
Until the owner of this V turned up. 5 minutes with this and I knew the G was going.
So, after less than 2 hours with my G I exchanged it for this V20, LG Quick Cover and £150 cash ?
That's my story. And I'm well pleased.
Only one thing would make this my best phone ever.... yep, root. The amount of stuff I've done with my rooted Z2 over the past 3 years has been awesome and great fun, and it's still a brilliant phone.
Maybe one day.....
V10e-TWN-XX arrived yesterday ?
But VOLTE which they mentioned in release notes for V10e-TWN is nowhere that I can find. Perhaps it is not showing since my carrier at this moment doesn't support it.
I'm not sure anyone has the VoLTE. I haven't.
Although it's not a priority for me its still annoying that LG's official description seems to be plain wrong. But sadly not surprising.
the feature is available if your carrier supports voice over lte future.
I personally checked with a Vodafone sim card

Canada currently getting a new 1AQEJ update

Apparently only a security fix though it appears newer than the 1AQEB rolling out in Europe and other places. No apparent Bluetooth fix, though my very, very brief range test with the S3 Classic worked. I did not get disconnected until I was about 25-30 feet away. More testing is required of course. The patch seems light in size compared to the 1AQEB, with 1AQEJ coming in at approximately 270MB VS. 670MB for the 1AQEB. Only visible difference is that I am now on May 1st, 2017 security patch.
Interesting.

I received it as well this morning, I'm on Virgin Mobile
Not available on Rogers yet.
I have massive battery drain all of a sudden. Google Play Services are keeping the device awake all the time. Nothing changed since yesterday except the new update. Cleared the cache a few minutes ago. Have to see if there is any impact.
Got this OTA update on my Bell S8+ this morning. Since i got the update Im having issues on screen sensitivity, like Im texting then menu option pops up or just scrolling my chat messages and then out of the blue it's menu pop up. Using a tempered glass screen protector which has adhesive on edges, working perfect before the update. Will still monitor it and report back tomorrow.
My device got hosed after this update. I had to factory reset it. I am going to attempt a restore now from a backup but I have a feeling that I'm in for a nice new setup from scratch. The phone just went nuts this morning and progressively got worse. Play Services started draining battery like mad, Play Store stopped working, random glitches and crashes, etc. I finally decided that enough is enough. I wasted at least 2 hours troubleshooting the issues in the hope that factory reset won't be necessary. I ought to know better.
After 3 days using this update i guess it's time to do a hard reset. The glitches I'm experiencing are just annoying and there's a slight battery drain issue too.
After factory reset the device seems to be back to normal, more or less. Have to wait out the first 3-5 days for the device to settle in but all the glitches I was seeing are gone now.
Okay, got a chance to test the Bluetooth connection again. There seems to be a bit of improvement in range. This might be placebo effect. Beyond that, nothing has improved at all. I am still having trouble with Bluetooth dropping at random, connectivity and discovery issues, etc. Same as before. I don't believe that this update incorporated any of the Bluetooth fixes that were discussed for 1AQEB.
Got it today on Vidéotron, no issues so far.

Disabling Moisture sensor?

Hi, A couple of days ago I had the misfortune of getting "Moisture in the usb port" notification and since then my G6 won't charge when turned on (it does when it's off but that's not a real solution).
I've tried a lot of things, but none work.
Is there any way to disable the "moisture sensor"?
I was thinking there has to be a way to disable it by messing with the kernel or maybe a custom a rom.
I am not a developer but I can tinker with the code, I just need some pointers or anyone willing with some experience willing to help. Or maybe even some documentation (I don't know if I'll be able to parse it or not but it's worth a shot)
PS. I have ruled out hardware issues as best I can. If it is still a hardware issue then I guess I'll have to replace the charging port and the parts with it.
PPS. I can't have it replaced because there is no official store or anything else here and I have the canadian model. (h 873)
Same issue here
I am having the same problem after the update a couple days ago. Never had issue until the recent update. I have looked through all settings and can’t find how to turn off.
with root maybe and xposed can fixed but you have h873 so no root go back to nougat and see

So essentially this works on ALL LG phones.

Turning this setting off did not make any difference for me and I've seen other reports of that as well.
Someone said you can kill off "LG System Services" - yeah, that stops the notification, but for me still doesn't let the phone charge.
The first time this happened a couple days ago I was able to charge with the power off, and the warning actually went away for most of yesterday, but came back last evening. It's gone away occasionally but my phone still will not charge via USB. Now even with the phone off, I get a pictorial version of the same warning on the screen.
It's off to second-year promise land for me.
I found the moisture setting in that menu but I'm not able to turn it off
