Omnirom Nightlies 5.1.1 - Nexus 6 General

Omnirom is finally coming with official nightlies for Nexus 6. They can be found @ http://dl.omnirom.org/shamu/
İf anyone give this a try can you please update here if multiwindow works and if encryption enables. I will not have the time to test for now

Has omnirom enabled hwcrypto? If not, is there a simple way to make sure that crypto *does not* start? Or is it down to modifying the fstab as usual?

No multiwindow yet. Not 100% about encryption since I've always flashed a custom kernel right after, but I doubt it's enabled.

[DISCUSSION][ROM][5.1]CyanogenMod 12.1 for Bacon[OFFICIAL Nightlies]

CyanogenMod 12.1 (Android 5.1) Official Nightlies Discussion Thread
CyanogenMod tries to build a new, fresh "nightly" version every 24 hours for each of the devices it supports, which includes the most up-to-date changes to the source code, provided from all over the Internet. Of course, the nightly builds may also contain newly-introduced bugs, but hey- if you feel adventurous, you can help make CyanogenMod better by trying these experimental builds and reporting back bugs to the developers.

Flashing Instructions
Comprehensive installation instructions for CM on the OnePlus One can be found on the CyanogenMod Wiki: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_bacon
Note: If you are flashing from CM11/CM12, you MUST flash 5.1-compatible gapps after flashing the ROM!
1. Download the nightly and move it to your SD card.
2. Download gaaps and move it to your SD card. [This step is optional.]
3. Reboot into the custom recovery of your choice.
TWRP
CWM
Philz CWM
4A. Flashing dirty from CM11/12: Wipe cache/dalvik cache.
4B. Flashing clean: Full wipe.
5. Flash cm-121-2015xxxx-NIGHTLY-bacon.zip.
6. Flash gapps.zip. If flashing dirty from CM11/12, then you must reflash 5.1 compatible gapps (link above).
7. Reboot
For those having problems with apps crashing:
CafeKampuchia said:
1. If you didn't wipe cache / dalvik-ART from recovery when you flashed 12.1 over 12.0, go back and do that first.
2. If you still have FCs, go to Settings » Apps, find the offending app and click Clear data.
3. Still no go, time to do a factory reset.

Rooting:
This is a pre-rooted ROM, so there is no need to flash SuperSU!
1. Enable Developer options by going to System » About tablet and clicking Build number rapidly 5-7 times.
2. Under Developer options, click Root access and select Apps only, then Ok.
That's it!

As the OP says, coming soon and the download link is still not live for 12.1. It may even be today.
I'm using the latest April 15th version. Clean install, wipe system/cache/dalvik cache.
Anyone experiencing double-tap wake screen issues? Success rate is around 25% for me. I need to double-tap 5x (10 taps in total on average) to wake the screen. Never had this problem with CM11.

CM_VERSION=12.1-20150417-NIGHTLY-bacon is currently building and looking good so far, fingers crossed
Just to confirm, if/when it does build, should the installation process from CM12 nightlies be: flash the zip in recovery, then flash 12.1 gapps, then let it boot and all should be well?

I would download the nightly. Experimental builds are manually built. Nightly builds are done every night. Someone told the build server to build cm12.1 manually. Both are probably very similar code wise.

Does this have OMS support or even CMTE support? Also does it support f2fs? And lastly is forced encryption enabled on boot?
Downloading now . Thanks
Launcher is lacking a few options we come to expect such as grid size alterations and folderisation.
I love the system animations. Something different from the norm. Look really nice set to 1.5x too.
Security settings crash on clicking. Thankfully unknown sources is defaulted to yes, otherwise I wouldn't be restoring any apps from TB!

PSA: AICP latest treble is great

Okay so I've been trying some treble gsi's and yesterday I installed the AICP image on my phone. I've had zero issues, magisk works, substratum works, the style option in settings works, magisk modules work, the rom is really smooth and has a lot of settings and the battery life is pretty good too :^]

Gapps: https://opengapps.org
Latest magisk: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YftvNNZVruyYgtFE5wFsgLTDDb4Yux5W/view
Install process is the same as with any other treble rom.
Happy flashing!
edit: typos
Quick question... where did you get this? Because I never saw a AICP treble ROM thread. Anyway, that doesn't really matter. I have to give you my gratitude for sharing this ROM! I was about to give up and go back to the ugly stock EMUI.
I owe you one!
EDIT: It would be better to say in the original post if there are GApps included with this ROM or not, it would help clear up some confusion.

I feel you man, at first I thought treble was too unstable for daily usage but luckily I was wrong! I found the rom on a github page of a fellow xda user: https://github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/wiki/Generic-System-Image-(GSI)-list
It has all the treble roms that are currently availabe if you wanna try 'em out
And there are no gapps included in the rom itself, I used the pico package from opengapps.

You can make just about any ROM pass safteynet by grabbing Magisk Root, and install the module MagiskHide Props Config. Then using the terminal commands you can install the Huawei fingerprint thus passing safteynet correctly.

That's awesome! I didn't know about that. I've ran into an issue with the terminal tho when trying to run su:

CANNOT LINK EXECUTABLE "/sbin/su": "/data/data/com.termux/files/usr/lib/libtermux-exec.so" is 64-bit instead of 32-bit
Aborted
Any solution for this?

Sounds like root isn't install correctly? Did you check with Root Checker from play store? Which terminal program did you use? You ran su and granted root access first right?
I can't get this ROM to flash. tried both with fastboot tools and flashing the img in TWRP. I just get the Generic "Serious problems have occurred..." message
Edit: NVM I am a moron. Was flashing the AB image.
Bugs spotted
1. Lockscreen clock sometimes does not show, along with the date. I don't know the reason why, it just sometimes doesn't show it, like when your reboot your phone.
2. Can't set duration for long pressing the power button to enable the flashlight.
That's all the bugs I've noticed so far.

[DISCUSSION][OT][8.1.x]Oreo ROM Discussion thread for Titan

This thread is made for Oreo ROM discussion, in development threads, there should be only discussions about a specific bugs and issues, any OT should go here, I thought there should be a common discussion thread for suggestions, theming, substratum, dolby, viper, custom kernels mods and your home screens etc, as if you use any modified stuffs on rom, YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO REPORT BUGS AT ROM DEVELOPMENT thread, thats why this common discussion thread is here.
Currently, all Oreo ROM has following issues:
>SElinux is permissive, means SElinux wont be at Enforcing state
>HDR works with only OpenCamera/A Better Camera, with stock cameras, HDR doesnt work If any maintainer didnt implement HDR fix yet, try the zip from attachments
What is SElinux and what means SElinux is permissive?
A: https://source.android.com/security/selinux here is your answer
List of currently developed OREO roms?
A: @sapo_joe has made a thread for it, go here and if you find any rom missing request him there to add https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/list-currently-developed-roms-titan-t3736067
Developers who are behind to bringup oreo to our titan:
1: @LuK1337 , he is lit, all of our works based on his codes
2: @RenanQueiroz , is the guy who fixed issues which were on Luk's los builds, and brought stable tree to us for building roms, currently all roms are based on his trees
So, feel free to discuss about anything here from now, that can be OT, unofficial builds, build issues and anything that doesnt violate XDA rules, cheers

Some people might know bout Spectrum. Its a battery, balanced and performance kernel-profiling app. All it needs is a kernel support. @thedeadfish59 can you make the RR kernel support Spectrum? It'll give great benefits.

Am I the only one that has issues with apps freezing and force closing in every single Oreo ROM? Happens most frequently to me with browsers and reddit clients. Everyone's all happy with Oreo and the abundance of ROMs but no one talks about this problem. Also before anyone mentions that's its a problem with my device, it's not because I don't get these issues on Nougat.

Wow! (Check the SELinux status).
For me, LineageOS 15.1 [TITAN] by Renan looks like the best Oreo ROM to install as soon as SELinux issue is resolved, because the codebase is mature, it is supported on a regular basis AND there is official Root addon.
Have anyone tried to root LOS 15.1 with the official Root addon? How is the performance after rooting with the official Root addon, are there any lags or freezes introduced by rooting?

Happens to be regardless if I'm rooted or not and with every single Oreo ROM I've tried so far. Almost a dealbreaker for me tbh. Nougat rarely ever gave me such issues.

Hmm I'd like to have this clarified. AFAIK, the SELinux state is not persistent across reboots—that is, as soon as a device is rebooted, SELinux state reverts to the state the kernel was built with—in our case it's the permissive state.
If SELinux is permissive at boot, the SIM cards are detected normally, right?
What happens if we set SELinux to enforcing AFTER boot (with root it should be simple, we only need to execute "su -c setenforce 1" in any terminal emulator)?
First, do the SIM cards get undetected as soon as SELinux state is switched?
Second, if we set SELinux to enforcing and then switch to the Flight Mode and back without rebooting the device, will SIM cards be re-detected as soon as the Flight Mode is disabled?

Thats not happening, with enforcing boot, Renan didnt get RIL working, and so many things are broken, so most probably, we are staying with permissive SElinux, but however, HDR is still major concern, to Renan, to all of us

Oh. So it's not only RIL but also other things that are broken on Oreo with SELinux enforcing?
Nice of you to spread the info, many thanks!
@Wolfcity, are you still on AEX 5.6?? What kernel are you using and what kind of SOT are you getting on it??
I'm bored and in need to test more ROMs... LOL

Instead of new ROMs, you can test a new build of Evolution Kernel
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77066703&postcount=197
- Source sync with LOS and is more clean without crap
- Offline charge battery fixed (credits to RenanQueiroz)
- Dolby DAP sound driver enable
- High Performance headset enable
- Delay in plug/unplug headset fixed
- Low latency sound driver added
- Stereo call support
- 320kbs sound
- More changes for high quality sound added
- Simple GPU algorithm added
- Overclock 1593 mhz added (UC to 96 mhz needs repair now, if you know how to warn the private)
- Some fixes for memory leaks added
- kgsl changes for battery saver added
- MSM_HOTPLUG
- WQ_Power efficient driver added
- Kernel Neon features enable
- PowerSuspend driver added
- Efficient_Unaligned_Acces enable

I tried it, it was good. But battery was a little better in stock RR kernel. Do u customize it in any way?? How do u improve battery life with that kernel?

I know that feeling....
I changed to the latest Pixel Experience build for the moment. I once flashed that ROM before and I was missing some features but the battery consumption was just awesome. So I gave it a second try and found two substratum apps called K-Klock and /subtweaks/ that had some of the things I was missing.
When I was on AEX.5.6 I used it alongside with Evolution_oreo_titan_20180603 kernel, the performance was really good but the battery consumption was high as we know it from AEX. I have to say that PE provides a really great RAM managment and the best battery usage I found until now.
Next on my list is bootleggers ROM, heard good things about it.
edit: Just read about the new build of Evolution kernel. Will try it with PE.

Can't pull down status bar on fullscreen

Hello
With Resurrection Remix (Oreo) on a Samsung Galaxy S5 I can't drag down the status bar when the screen switches to fullscreen. Youtube for instance. It works when I start the device on safe mode. I disabled some apps which I thought they may cause this issue. I also disabled all Xposed modules. I guess safe mode not only affects which apps are loaded or not. It might also just not apply some internal settings.
Also I tried another launcher. Nova and Google.
What could I do now?
I started already a topic on the Resurrection subforum, but no answers.
nobody?
Really nobody? Or is it forbidden to talk about the statusbar?

You can talk about it buts it's probably best to post this sort of question in the rom thread where people who use the rom are more likely to see it
I don't use that rom - I'm using lineageos 15.1 & don't have any such issue

No if switching roms always format system data cache first

Thank you.
The problem is, no status bar and no screen rotation. With that, this rom is actually quite useless.
There is just nothing like a decent replacement for the stock rom. I guess, there are users or developers here who could provide a solution to this issue. But well.... Nobody is willing to help.

Sensors have been fixed in lineage 15.1
You need to understand that custom roms generally use the same common device source code - if the source code has a bug every rom based on that source code will have that bug
All I can say is the previous user using the same rom doesn't have that issue & I don't have that issue with lineageos & the rotation was fixed in the last build (rotation would work in previous builds but may randomly stop until restart)
From reading the resurrection remix thread the sensors commits have been merged into their source in the last build yesterday - you should update the rom & wipe delvik/art cache if not already done so
If you still have problems I would format system data cache & then flash the latest official version of lineageos from their website
Remember that there are different versions of the galaxy s5
Mine is 900f or klte
Flash the correct version for your variant
If problems still exist logcat & send to developer

Hello
Mine is a G900F too.
I just upgraded to the latest RR version. Now I played around and it seems, auto rotation just works fine. It's even quite fast. Wow. If it stays that way, I'm more than happy. It also doesn't longer rotate the desktop. The behavior of auto-rotate seems to be now as it supposed to be.
Thank you very much. I upgraded RR last week the first time and thought...well...maybe that would solve it. So, I wouldn't tried it again without your suggestion.
Now I have to solve the issue with the status bar. It works well when I boot the phone into safe mode. With that I guess a particular app is responsible for this issue. But I wasn't able to identify it.
I had an app 'Bootmanager' but it end of life. I would like to disable 50% of the apps and see if it works. If not, disable the other 50%. Now I'm not sure what is the best way to isolate the culprit.
If i can solve this issue, then RR would provide all I need.
For the moment, I use the Xposed Edge modul (it's a great module btw.) were I'm able to expand the notification panel with a swipe gesture. That's ok.
I also played around with the 'extended desktop feature'. But no success.

Expanded desktop works fine for me in lineageos 15.1
The chances are the xposed framework itself or the module is taking over
I don't have xposed installed

I had the same idea and disabled Xposed module. Still same. Now, as I upgraded RR I tried to pull down the notification bar in Youtube fullscreen. Isn't possible. Then I installed Xposed Framework again.
For some reason this time I had not install TWRP again after the upgrade. Last time TWRP was gone.....
However, auto-rotation works perfect. Rebooted the device, tested it on several apps. That's fantastic.

Although it's disabled it may still be causing the problem
Format system data cache
Flash only rom zip & mindthegapps and test
That will tell you if it's a rom issue or something else
If it's a rom issue logcat it & send to developer

I uninstalled Xposed framework and tested it again. No luck. Then I uninstalled Nova Launcher. Also no luck.
There are not so many apps which are running in the background. I stopped a few....
I booted again in safe mode and it works just great.
I don't know what I further can do.
However, auto rotation is working great.

Just an update: To get some practice with all that custom rom stuff TWRP. Then, I updated Gapps to the version of today. And now guess what... the status bar works in fullscreen.
With that, everything works fine.
e last thing what is a bit weird: I was able to search settings. For instance, when I searched Sound it came up several sound settings. Now it shows only apps which 'Sound' contains within the name. I guess I did somewhere changed the setting. But can't find anything.
Th
Finally it works. I updated TWRP and GAPPS. Whatever the issue caused, it's gone.
