I have LG G4. I turn off my phone then plug in the wall charger. After a couple seconds i get the battery icon with moving dots indicating charging. Then a few seconds more the phone turns on.
Can I charge with phone off?
Please Help!

Is this the same with all LG G4 mobile phones?
My G4 stayed powered off while charging the one time I tried that. Powered off, not just screen off.
Mine does the same thing regardless the screen awake settings. It's annoying since it charges faster when it's off. Think it may be a quick charge thing.

I'm guessing that's what I did too, but I don't remember the exact sequence. The screen came back on to show just the large green battery, but hitting power turned the screen off fully.
On mine, this happened too.
You must plug it while it is ON and after turn it OFF.
This works for me.

No, I don't have that option.
Other option, at least with the G2, you hold the vol down then plug in the power cable. This is how you did it with G2. I haven't tried it on G4 yet.

So you also have the same "feature" with the G4, when it's turned off and then connected to a wall charger, then turns on ?
Turn the device off, wait 2 minutes. plug the phone in.

Anybody know how to turn that thing off? I've got the phone set to leave the screen on when plugged in. If I plug the phone in and walk away, the notification turns the screen on and then it stays on until I get back to it. Its already happened more than once and ended up being on all night.
I'd prefer a built in setting but I guess a market software solution would work if need be.
Thanks for any solution.

I 2nd this, that battery notification is just annoying.
Is there anyway for the screen to auto turn off even while charging? I noticed when not charging the screen auto turns off, but while charging if you dont manually lock the screen, itll be on and wont turn off.

Hi,
my n10 works great except the odd time when I try to wake it up and it's completely non-responsive, just showing me a black screen.
I'm unlocked , and rooted, running CleanRom. Is this device related or rom?
Cheers

Device is on - as I said it's not waking from sleep with the power button.
Confirm.
Strange thing - sometimes notification LED blinking.
How are you guys determining its on?
I had a defective N10 and experienced similar things. Another user taught me a trick: When you see the led flash but can't turn on the screen try plugging in a charger - if the battery charge icon appears, its not actually "on"...

My RMA experience was pretty good. It was a Thursday afternoon I phoned Google, and had the second device the following Tuesday. Although I don't like that they put a charge hold on your credit card for another $500 which isn't the fastest to come off, the benefits outweigh that single negative. You don't have to pay for shipping, youre never without a device, for a while you have two devices so you can compare (if needed), shippings decently quick.

This "black screen of death" has just happened on my Nexus 10. My device is unlocked, rooted, with CWM and CM10.1 and stock kernel. EDIT: the battery was full (~80%)
I was using Perfect Viewer and the screen suddenly went black. I've tried holding the power button alone and with the volume buttons pressed for up to 1 minute and nothing. Tried to do the same while charging and while connected to a computer. I also tried to connect the USB cable while holding the power button. Nothing worked so far.
Is there any way to send commands such as "reboot' or "shutdown" while connected to a computer? (something like the way fastboot works on linux)
Maybe removing the battery might work, what you guys think?

the device wont turn on, the device wont charge (i have tried different socket/desktops, and also different chargers), and i cant boot into bootloader / recovey mode.
Note: when i performed the steps on the internet, when i plugged in the cable, the Red LED light in turning on for about 15-20 seconds, and then turning off.
what can i do except for going to a lab?

You can try this, if you didn't have already:
- Plug your phone to the charger while holding down the volume down button. Your device should boot into bootloader mode.
- If the above doesn't work, then let your phone charge for half an hour and try it again.

You are charging from the electrical outlet, are you?
Just let it charge for at least two hours, it is a good sign that the LED went on.
Furthermore this red LED also known as 'red light of death' is a common issue of Nexus devices. It's an indicator for the batterie not to charge or because there was a thermal shutdown cause by too much heat and you only can solve this by screw off your device.
I hope you dont must go this far. Just be patient and wait what happens after the charging period.

Did you also try to charge it with another cable? Try again to press down volume down key and plug in the cable.
By 'not charging at all' do you mean, there isnt this batterie logo when charging?
Edit: Try this volume-down-plug-in-cable a couple of time. It may not work the first time you do it.

leaving it on the charger might fix it. taking off the back cover, disconnecting the battery, then reconnecting the battery is an almost 100% fix.
Hey All,
I have bought a used leeco pro 3 off swappa. Unfortunately I didn't get the phone until much later after delivery (had to have someone bring it to me). In photos the phone works fine, but when I got it it won't turn on and there's no indicator that it's charging at all. When I do plug it in, the phone does get warm though.
Any thoughts what the problem could be?
Have you tried another USB-C cable? Apparently the stock OEM one sucks.

I have another leeco and I tried that charger still nothing. I've been reading and wondering if the battery drained. I'm going to leave it plugged in for awhile to see if anything changes. I plugged it directly into my laptop and it made that noise that it recognized something was plugged in but it didn't turn on or anything like that.

Hello, I have very similar problem. My Leeco le pro 3 don't charge I try diffrend cables and chargers but when plug-in only orange diode start to blink. Do you have any other ideas what to try?
same problem here. LeEco shut down because of low battery. After plugging the charger in it, the LED only blinks red. Then it vibrates, turns off and starting into the charging mode without charging. Starting TWRP or dotOS is not possible because it shuts down.

Problem is "solved". I was able to boot inti TWRP and charged from zero to 10%. After that after few trys it was possible to boot into the ROM to charge the battery to 100%.
I ran my phone down to empty battery, so I went to charge it. As it was already powered off I left it because, surely, it would charge faster that way.
When I came back to take it off the charger I discovered the phone powered on, display on full brightness, WiFi on and everything, and the phone hadn't charged sufficiently at all.
I never told it to turn on but it does this every time, and even when I turn it back off it turns back on again!!! ???
Thanks for your answers! ?
The same thing happens to me... no offline charging on our G6's, at least not after reaching around 5% of battery.
So when I want to charge my g6 faster, I will plug it in and make sure it's charging and then I will power it off. It will act like it's booting back up but it won't.

You can't change that. The only workaround is to turn it off after you have connected the charger. Since I use wireless charging, that is a difficult option for me so I just gave up.
You can't ffs, it has auto boot after 3-4% of charging. And thats not even a bad thing. If you want charge it faster turn airplane mode on, on charging.

Try factory reset first. If still the same then it sounds like a battery failure, which can be replaced but not easily.

That option in settings is there whether you can OEM unlock the device or not... Also, most or at least some G6 models can be OEM unlocked.
That temperature warning is still probably your battery. Batteries can get extremely hot when they malfunction (much more so than the other components alone) so I'd get it checked out or you may have a Note7 in your hands

So still no fix for the issue? Mine is turning on when charging as well, I mainly use wireless charging but it happens when charging with the USB cable AND when charging wirelessly. The phone will not stay powered off. Any suggestions? I have the most recent Android 8.0.0 update, VS988 on Verizon. I've never had an issue like this on Android, very frustrating.
I also found this link from LG. It seems to be software based, why would they do this?

In my case I drained the battery during usage thus not performing a graceful shutdown. When I try to charge into the wall it displays the charging icon on the screen and runs out of power and shuts down again-->Won't Charge.... I plugged the cable into my computer which seems to perform a slower charge --> the battery icon does not display and I am able to charge... this is silly as as a workaround solution. How to prevent the battery icon from display during charge?
This worked for me and it was so simple. I was looking in the wrong place for an answer.
On the plug end, where the USB cable is plugged into the plug, I noticed that the cable did not seem to be pushed in all the way. I pulled it out of the plug, then reinserted it as far as it would go.
Voila! The problem went away. I can now turn off my phone, insert the charging plug, and the phone goes into fast charge and, most importantly, stays powered OFF. Try it. this might work for you as well.
