want the android M wallpaper?
here ya go http://phandroid.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/default_wallpaper-phandroid.jpg

Too early

aaah...(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

I'm pretty sure it's going to be called Marshmallow!
If Google was Canadian, it would be Maple Sirup for sure
Enough Spam, now my question:
Can anyone give me a link to a site with detailed Information about Android M(arshmallow)? The Information on the Cyanogenmod Website aren't detailed enough for me. I look for Linux Kernel Version of Android M and changes they do in the Kernel. I've just started to learn about development, that's why I don't know where to look.

Some also say that it's going to be called Muffin or Milkshake. There is currently almost no information about M regarding the kernel version and other (developer) information.

Im guessing Milkshake

i think its marshmallow. haha

OK, we've all read about Sony not wanting to port their Marshmellow AOSP Kernel to Xperia SP.
What they refuse to do is the same work our developers are doing for Lollipop right now, do I get this right?
I read about a "Unified Kernel". What would be the benefit if this unified kernel was ported to the SP compared to the ports of the regular AOSP kernel that our developers do?

unified kernel = same kernel for a bunch of devices

I don't get what it is that is unified.
- Neither the RIL does belong to the unified Kernel nor does the camera driver.
- All the other driver stuff is different on the phones too.
- The code deep inside the AOSP kernel is the same on every device. As I read in a kernel porting tutorial, most of the work when porting a kernel is the hardware stuff.
I don't see what is left now.
I'd be happy if someone could give me a link or a place to search for more information.
Google is full of results from news sites where it is explained THAT the unified kernel exists and that it is a great thing. I can't find more detailed information because of that.

The unified kernel include all drivers for all devices, e.g. in the unified kernel you'll find the driver for every flash LED included in Xperia phones. It's great because in only one Github repo you have all the sources you need (this means that when a "general" bug is fixed you have to push it to only one repo and not to 17 different repos), and it is updated to the latest Linux kernel supported by Google, i.e. Linux 3.10.x.

Well first of all, the list is under "Quote:" lol why why why?
Secondly, the list will get pretty long in the future, so maybe do a collapsible list.
And, finally, just the aesthetics of it lol You know, we're buying the Z1, known for clean minimalism design. Maybe tidy it up a bit, and make it clean and minimal.

For whom is looking for the same info, I asked the same question on the FreeXperiaProject google+ page, this is the reply I got:
"Working on it. Z1 and Z Ultra are very similar. Kali published our Rom for Z Ultra on XDA already. Z1 will come later but it will come. First let Sony solve the camera issue when unlocking and also let the device arrive in the markets, it's not released yet in all regions!"

[ALPHA] | CustomDroid | Automated flashing, rooting, etc like CM installer

You all must have heard of CyanogenMod installer, which makes it easy to install CyanogenMod ROM on a number of devices. You just need to download the app on your phone and then connect your phone to your PC and the installer app on your PC will do the heavy lifting. But the problem is: It's a CyanogenMod installer -- You can only install CyanogenMod using it, that's it. So I present to you - Custom Droid
What is Custom Droid?
CustomDroid allows you to tweak your newly purchased phone. It can:
Unlock the bootloader of your device
Flash a custom recovery
Flash a custom ROM
Flash a custom kernel [WIP]
Root your device [WIP]
The user interface is like an installer and it makes the entire process, from bootloader unlocking to custom ROM, super easy and intuitive.
This project was inspired by CM Installer. Since CM Installer was limited (and could only flash a CM ROM), I thought "Why not create a similar app which can do more and also flash any kind of ROM?".

Important Notes:
The app is in experimental stage so please don't say "It sucks" or "It bricked my device", there are still few things left to fix and add. Please report bugs via GitHub
Kernel flashing and rooting is WIP and will be ready by ALPHA 2
List of currently supported devices are: Nexus 4, Nexus 7, Nexus 10, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S, Nexus One and HTC One.
Only GSM variants of the devices are supported. LTE/4G model support will be added in ALPHA 3 (expected). Support for more devices will be added soon.
If you have a HTC One, make sure the bootloader unlock key ("Unlock_code.bin") file is present in the root folder of the application else it will not be able to unlock your One's bootloader. I will be adding the support for extracting identifier token automatically in v2 to make it easy for you to obtain the bootloader unlock key.
Requirements:
.NET Framework 4.5
ADB/fastboot drivers

I'm really interested in seeing how this software works out. I'm a new HTC One owner who's very intimidated by the complexity of rooting the One... Well done to the developer, and fingers crossed it evolves into what I need it to be ?

Hi there,
If it's well known that a lot of people use Windows, I will ask: there is a chance to get this app running with mono in Linux? have this app, OS validations to get started in other platforms with .NET framework, AKA mono.?
Best regards.
Just a suggestion, Post what version HTC One this is working on. I see only 0ne recovery img in the app.
Did you ever consider using this?

Overview
Pure AOSP for Cancro
Features
- No T-mobile theme engine or Layers, It is just stock AOSP.
- No .dat features
Download
Developer-Preview-1
Working
- Everything (unless I missed something, pretty sure I didn't)
Sources
My codebase is uploading.
GPL stuff:
Kernel used can be found here
Extended Information
I created this for firmware developers, It is for forking stock firmware such as MIUI.
If people choose to use this to port MIUI I obviously cannot stop them, but blah blah, beta software, blah.
This firmware uses the structure everyone loved in KitKat; I will not force anyone to deal with the .dat nonsense that we've all come to know and hate.
The codebase aligns very closely to what Xiaomi uses, and this code-base also aligns with many other vendor firmware.
Thx to: Datagutt, Heheda; co-maintainers :<
Thx to: Firmware developers, the source builders for this device

It's pure AOSP, and yes it's good to work on any device that idents as Cancro
It is designed specifically for use with porting firmware, recovery has been modded in source to allow for this more easily as well.
It is easy to build either CAF or deCAF firmware in this build engine, I designed it to be very easy like CyanogenMod and it does accept CM configs.
HOWEVER IT IS AOSP AND NOT SLIMROM OR CYANOGEN I can't stress this enough, It is AOSP

Yes, my build engine is really huge and has multiple GCC forks depending on the firmware used :<
Neat clean stock ROM. Though meant to for porting and etc stuff. But as a user I like it, it's smoooth.
Everything is great except some minor stuff eg: long Wi-Fi turning on time, WCDMA Only mode reset after reboot, CPU frequency control not working proper with stock kernel.
These are minor stuff and I'm not complaining neither asking you to do anything about it.
PS if anybody has a solution for 3G Only reset would be glad.
Hope I can see a 6.0 ROM by you soon
Also, there's a lag between screen and capacitive keys becoming inactive.. say if I turn off screen and the very next second I touch capacitive keys the screen wakes up.

As we all know, there are tons of custom rom based on AOSP like MIUI, Flyme OS, MoKee, OmniROM, ...
Recently, @Myself5 and @HaoZeke have released the (mostly) fully-working UNOFFICIAL Lineage OS for the Xperia Z5. Lineage OS - the successor of CyanogenMod, which is quite close to AOSP. The launch of Lineage OS for Xperia Z5, in my opinion, is a key fundamental for further development on more AOSP-based Custom ROM.
I hope that incredible talented Xperia Z5 developers at XDA will soon launch new project on these custom ROMs, giving the users more choices and experiences and also, unlock all the potential power of the Sony Xperia Z5.
Once again, thanks all Xperia developers and look forward for new custom ROM released for the Xperia Z5.
This thread is created for Xperia Z5 XDA members express their opinions and demands on the development of more AOSP-based ROM. Developers can take advantage of this thread as a reference in terms of demands for ROM development. I hope my humble thread could contribute a bit for the general development of Xperia Z5 Developers Community.
Please share your thoughts and comments about which ROM do you want to release for the Z5 best!

OMG. He want users to pay to download his ROM? WT*? Yeah, your decision is right. XDA is where developers create ROM, mods and apps for the community, the thing developers receive can not just limit in money, it's the joy of being satisfied with their works and desires, hearing the appreciated compliments from the users, and maybe receiving some donated money as an encouragement. XDA developers create all of this not for money, but for their desire. That's the fundamental of this forum.
P.s. I am really disappointed about him

Who's back? We're back.
CarbonROM is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look, build, and use our code at CarbonROM's GitHub... and at CarbonROM Gerrit.
Disclaimer:
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.
Support:
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.

I don't have a moto mod yet, I'm waiting until the keyboard mod will be shipped in August. I just got my Moto Z but I'd like to already use a compatible custom ROM. I'd just like to be prepared when the keyboard mod arrives.

I legit have no way of testing it to make sure it works if it hasn't come out yet [emoji6] .
Should be a basic fix anyway.

Sorry, I assumed that all moto mods run on the same platform/driver, so that when one moto mod is working with it, all (future) moto mods should be supported.
Apparently that's not the case, but glad to hear it would be a basic fix.
i cant go in the web site and this rom support jbl mod ?
no jbl speaker mod dont work
I'll get those mod changes merged in soon enough.

Whenever you try to download it, it gives you a 404?
Can you try this again for me as I successfully downloaded the latest version.

I merged in the battery mod changes. Efficiency mode works as expected. One thing I've noticed is battery stats will show the phone is awake a significant amount of the time. Snapchat/camera apps no longer force close. I believe whenever the charge state is changed from the mod the kernel throws a wakelock that the framework interprets as "wake up."
Most likely will not have the speaker mod working right away as I'm redoing the audio policy and have nothing to test it with. I pushed a change to fix speaker audio using the backend (as originally intended). Mod zip it's included by default from now on.
Let me know if you have any other issues.

You need to flash an su add-on in recovery.
E.g. Supersu, magisk, lineages.

It would be be better prerooted.
When I do flash Supersu, magisk it ends up deleting imei information on Moto Z.
