Anybody knows if there is any chance on Windows Phone 10 be released for Omnia 7 ??
Since there will be an update for Windows 7 users , i thought ( in a matter of fact i'm praying) that it could also be and update for 7.8 and Omnia 7 ...
WP7 did not share the same kernel as the desktop version of Windows. That change came in WP8.
So unfortunately no, it will never happen for WP7. Try to enjoy the Omnia 7 and look to upgrade to WP8 because then you'll get WP10

Hello everyone, lately i've been using some cooked ROMs from xda's cookers, but i went back to the official rom (1.56.401.0 «43972» WWE) (radio 1.13.25.24), i presume its the latest cuz i've downloaded it from the official website.
The problem is that before i used any cooked ROMs i had this same ROM but with windows mobile 6.2, i updated from 6.1 to 6.2 the day i got it, this "new" ROM didn't exist at that time, but now that i removed a cooked ROM for this one, but the windows update tool can't find any updates now...
Maybe i'm getting confused but i'm pretty sure i had 6.2 before, cuz a friend of mine has an HTC touch cruise with 6.1 and i had 6.2 ...humz lol
Anyway, is there anyway i can update my HD to windows mobile 6.2?
thanks in advance =)
as far as i know..
there is no" official windows mobile 6.2 " .....!!!!
only.."official "
windows mobile 6.0 then 6.1 and currently 6.5.... and hopefully " win 7 " by end of year !!!!!.
as matter of fact ..you can go to "htc official website "..select your country ....select phone type... select " product support "
check .. if there are any hotfixes or updates applicable to your phone and rom version.... click download.... etc...
further the windows update tool you refer to.. has never been used by .. Microsoft ( up to date ..so you are wasting you time )
..this update tool is suppose to only be there for "crictical updates "
according to them ,as stated ...re ..'FACEBOOK "
hope this helps ..?
good luck..
willcor
flash a 6.5 rom but turn it off two thirds through, that will get you your 6.2 update
a 2 kinda looks like a 5 if you turn it around ^^
Windows mobile 6.2 ?????
Hello. I am thinking about switching from windows 6.5 to windows 7, but there is one thing that worries me. Is there a possibility that after ROM reset and installing windows phone 7 my simlock that I recently took returns?
Thanks in advance
no.. it will stay unlocked... i used wp7 to unlock it... at first i thought i wouldnt work but when i inserted a different simcard it asked for the code and accepted it... since then ive flashed around wm6 wp7 and android and it has stayed unlocked

i am wanting some help to do with my htc hd2 running windows phone 7 with the dft rom and mgldr and when i have my phone connected to my computer it brings up there is an update available but it always times out and i have tried rectifying the problem by downloading the windows phone support tool BUT this is where the problem is, i cant use this tool because the buttons on the phone have changed when the dft rom and mgldr have been installed and now i cant get my phone onto the connect to pc image screen for windows which is a black screen with the phone, cable and a laptop in it, the updates through zune will then be accepted it fails on the last step every time please help!!!! many thanks jamie.
Yes there is a update from Microsoft available for WP7 called NoDo. But a working adaptation of it for the HD2 is not available yet. It was a video released a while back showing NoDo copy and Paste feature working on the HD2 by the DFT. But it kind of seem to be holding out for the Mangoo update or something because a ROM that can either receive the update or has the update included in it has yet to surface that I know of.
So just to make sure you understand, you can not install the update no matter what you do right now. Unless you would like to jump in and steal the spot light for a minute and be the one that officially released said ROM. That is if you are so minded to do it, I personally would love to but I do not have the knowledge to do so yet.

HI,
I have Windows Phone 7.8 (Samsung Omnia W I8350). I would like to change the software to Windows Phone 8.1.
Please suggest. Thank you.
This has already been said many times. The WP7.x devices will not get WP8.x.
There are too many differences, beginning with the kernel.
