My sprint LG G2 was boot looping into TWRT after I accepted an OTA.
I've read several posts, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477595 and this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448960,
the problem I get is I can not get into download mode, well, I did enter it, but it stuck at 0%, and my computer don't recognize it. Can not find the phone in "devices", installed the driver and still no avail. BTW, when I boot into TWRT, my computer can recognize the android device and ADB works then.
Since I cannot get past the download mode, I can not use the LG flash tool.. it says "LG USB/Parallel lock key is not detected".
Any suggestion is deeply appreciated.

I tried, use ADB while the phone is in TWRT, went through and restarted, still boot into TWRT.
The command line in TWRT will pop up an error message saying "not enough space", although I do have enough space. So it didn't work either.
Sounds like you just need to keep messing with it until you can get it to recognize it in download mode and go back to stock. What Windows version do you have? i had some issues with 8 but 7 worked fine.

Well, that Fix clear FOTA with zeros and it should end with "not enough space", this is normal.
I guess when your phone restarted into download mode and got stuck on 0%, it already overwrite maybe part of system partition, this is why only download or recovery works.
Did you made any nandroid backup before? If yes, restore at least boot & system from it. It should help, so you can boot normally. If you do not have any backup, well, maybe some other fellow Spring user can give u his boot & system backup files so you can restore them.

Yes, I have a full nandroid backup before. I did a full restore from it after the boot-looping, but it didn't work, I still boot into TWRP and unable to boot into system.

so you followed that fix to clear FOTA, restored from backup, but when do "REBOOT SYTEM" from TWRP it ends again in recovery?
hmmm, how about these steps:

using Flash Tool to restore stock ROM.

No, it doesn't work, because my phone stuck at 0% in download mode and it doesn't show up in my device manager on PC.
I had the same problem

I used the fix from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448960
except that I used the sprint .tot file. (http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G2/Stock/Sprint+LS980/)
Did you try to reinstall the drivers or use a different cable?
I encountered the same issue last night. I reinstalled the Verizon united drivers and rebooted my machine. The next time that I connected the device in download mode, device manager picked up the device. I had to re-run the LG tool, but it eventually progressed past 0% and my issue was fixed. You can reinstall the verizon drivers using the following link.
http://wacomalt.com/dropbox/LGG2/StockRevert/LG VZW_United_WHQL_v2.11.1.exe
I'm having the same issues with D802b after doing the 60mb OTA update. My phone didn't get a chance to actually do the download as on first restart it just went straight into TWRP and I haven't been able to get back since.
It's just looping back into TWRP each time. I've now completely wiped all parts of the phone including the internal SD card, I've even re-installed a new kernel and rom (The custom one I was using before this happened, from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2505682) from an attached USB (sd card reader) with successful installs through TWRP (including wiping cache etc), still reboots into TWRP on restart. I've also done a hard reset that was supposedly successful, still boots into TWRP.
Same as the OP, it won't 'install itself' properly in windows while in TWRP mode or in 'Software Download' mode (turn on with up and down buttons pressed down and plug data cable in). I've tried in vain to hunt down a specific D802 inf as pointing it at the universal driver didn't detect either.
I have installed the Android SDK, LG Suite, LG Universal drivers. I've then tried the B2CAppSetup (which works, but won't detect the device). I've then tried the FlashTool 1.0.54 and it gets all the way through but can't communicate with the device.
The only thing I haven't managed to do yet is to decompress the official kdz into a zip so I can flash it through TWRP. Haven't had much luck with LGExtract as of yet.
Rather baffled actually, as I'm sure the OP is.
Any thoughts?

I tried that method many times and it does not work on the Sprint version. If you read through the thread you'll noticed that others with Sprint devices can not get that method to work.
The only method that worked for me was to use the LG Flash tool and flash the Sprint tot file and follow the instructions for the Verizion method for going back to stock.

Not really sure if this would've solve your problem but here's my possible theory to why you couldn't get it to work:
I was in the same situation. Took the OTA update and was boot looping into TWRP. Just like you, nothing in TWRP would fix it. I think you probably panicked and rush through the instructions and forgot some important steps. Make sure you did not install the Verizon driver by accident because that will cause problems with your Sprint phone not being properly detected by your computer. I did panicked and started to try to many things and somehow got a copy of the Verizon driver and installed it. ADB was able to see my phone but when I tried to sideload something through TWRP it would generate an error. I found out that I had both drivers(LG USB driver and the Verizon USB driver) installed and after removing the Verizon USB driver my computer was able to detect my phone properly. It's really important that after making any changes or installations of drivers you will need to reboot your PC to get the new changes to take effect.
You got the "LG USB/Parallel lock key is not detected" error is because you forgot to copy and overwrite the "MegaLock.dll" that's located at "C:\LG\LGFlashTool" directory.
To get into download mode you just need to press the +volume button only(do not hold or press the power button) and plug in the USB cable that's attached to your computer and Download Mode should come on. It will stay on 0% until the LG Flash tool flashes the Sprint stock rom onto the phone.
Once I got the phone to come up in Download Mode I had to go into Device Manager and find the device and then change the COM port to COM 41 then everything went smoothly as the instruction indicated. If you were not able to change the COM to COM 41 then it will never work.
If you're not sure that you have all the files then this is where I got mine from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2486738&page=7
or
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47849315&postcount=9
After I got the file above I followed the directions for the Verizon method below:

Hey guys rookie mistake went to flash a new seemingly successful rom and forgot to make a back up first. Now my phone is on but black screen. I can get into recovery but I have no backup. Also when I connect my phone to the computer it no longer recognizes it. I have all up to date drivers. They worked yesterday. Ive been reading about bricked g2 on boot loop and other variances and trying different things all day with no success. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
bump
This may have been discussed before. Ive searched here and google. Plenty of horror stories and the only one ive seen with the same problem never got a fix or least didnt reply on the boards about being fixed. My phone will not turn off no matter what I do. The screen is slightly lite up and will only boot to recovery(where I have no backups) and download mode where it basically does nothing and will not connect to my computer reguardless of it having the right drivers. So I have no way to my knowledge to flash a new/stock rom. I even got desperate and did a hard reset. Changed nothing but deleted the original rom I was attempting to flash.
Install pda net driver or koush drivers.

I m on verizon lg g2 and im stuck in recovery with my system completely wiped. I cannot get drivers installed to read ADB for the life of me. I've tried them all including the universal drivers. Im not too familiar with the whole adb thing and or working with a computer so if someone could step by step me a procedure on how to either flash back to sock or get a rom on my phone that can be flashed, anything to get it working, I am rooted.
PLEASE HELP ME!
driver installation failing
Bump for help
I have a similar issue with my sprint LG-LS980 [STOCK] Rooted I've tried multiple LG drivers but my computer (windows 7) tells me that the driver installation has failed every time I plug in my phone. I am still able to transfer files with wireless storage.
I need either getting the drivers to work or flashing back to stock rom without using a usb transfer cable
what I did
Hey I had a similar problem, could only get on cwm, couldn't get adb to work after the ota.
I did what this person suggested and installed pdanet drivers on my computer and it worked great!

I then went to cwm to sideload, I sideloaded twrp then did what this guy said:

good luck!

Hi,
I was trying to flash cloudy g3, I put in all the files necessary into the phone, went to the recovery and wiped everything including internal memory.
Now I am stuck as I cant transfer anything into my phone.
PC doesn't recognize it, so I can't use adb sideload.
I can get into download mode and recovery
I tried using OTG but TWRP won't mount it.
I tried using back to stock method but since the computer doesn't recognize it, there is no way to do that.
Please help
What is the model of the phone ?.

Hey guys,
I would appreciate a little help here cause I am about to throw my bricked L5 into the sea........
After a lot of tries I have rooted my e610v and ported V20 bb and CM10.1. Though, the google apps kept crashing no matter how many times I re-installed the firmware and the gapps-signed.zip
So, I did the mistake to put it into emergency download progress and now I am stuck there like....forever
I ve tried everything. Hard resets, cold reboots, everytime the phone starts again it shows "download in progress do not disconnect cable". I've tried any possible key combination found in the internet but nothing seems to get me out of there.
I ve also tried to change firmware back to a V20 rooted with CWM or a stock V20 rom with KDZ FW Updater but I get an update error wparams=500, lparams=100
I dont know what else to do, KDZ updater doesnt work maybe because I am trying to downgrade from CM 10.1 to CM 10 ?????
Any help would be much appreciated!
thnx

are you using a windows based pc? If so, go to your pc to advanced options and find modems and disable LG mobile modem, reboot your pc then open kdz and run windows enabler. Set kdz to DIAG. Remove the battery from your phone.
Then hold vol - and connect your phone to your pc.
Now flash the original LG frameware for your device. Let finish.
KDZ will crash after it finishes update.
That is normal.
The lg logo will appear on your device and you may get stuck in a boot loop.
Just disconnect your device.
Dont put the battery back in yet. Just hold vol - and home button and connect your usb cable again. The device should factory reset and boot normally.
a nother way to a successful factory reset. Turn on your device with your battery inserted. Remove the back of your phone.
Turn on your device. Then hold vol- and just remove the bottom of your battery. When the screen turns off quickly put the battery back in. Keep holding vol - when menu lights up press and hold home key.
The phone will eventually enter recovery. Or recovery mode.

firstly id like to thank u very very much for your reply!!
ok now some qs...
1st of all, some things have changed since the last time i did the first post, in the meantime Ive uninstalled and reinstalled the adb universal drivers, the lg modem in device manager keeps showing up as disabled everytime I connect to my pc and I get a USB Composite device which seems like my LG phone (im running windows 7).
Since I reinstalled adb universal drivers the KDZ gives me a new error, PHONE WAS NOT FOUND!
2nd my phone status is bootloader v2, it was rooted and I had ported cm 10.1 right before it died! also Im not sure if last time it was unbricked if I had Usb debugging enabled and I cant change it now with my phone bricked.
3rd I cant find windows enabler. was it inside the kdz folder? I could only find msxml. also by saying stock firmware I assume you refer to V20G_00.kdz found on lg-phone-firmware.com, right?
4th as I havent managed to do anything differently as Ive done millions times, at that step flashing I dont think flashing will work now! Ive also tried your methods for factory reset and the method described last for entering recovery but nothing worked
thanks a lot again!

if you can enter download mode its ok.
Find a new kdz file with windows enabler. Yes it should be in kdz folder. Reinstall xsml. disable lgmobile modem on your pc and reboot. Then run window enabler and use my first instruction. Yes i mean the original v20 frameware from LG
when in download mode usb debbuging and if your phone is rooted or not and how many times you used kdz or what rom you were running is irrelevant.
As long as your phone enters download mode it can be restored

no, dont toss it in the river. Try to turn the modem on reboot your pc and re try.
Make sure that your battery is not in your phone when in download mode.
Your device will be found eventually.

I used a pc running windows xp. I have a L5 e610 and a L7 p705.
I used kdz many times till now.
it works. Something may be blocking your connection to the pc. Btw i didnt use the original LG cable. I used a cable from htc one. i did have the same phone not found problem.
But is different every time. I wish i could take a look at your device personally. Its a hard for me to figure out whats wrong like this.

Hey Nesh, two last questions!
first of all, the modem drivers are missing and I have disabled the modem. should I search for them (probably I have to install the LGModem firmware exe file)
also my computer does not detect the phone via adb.exe when I run adb devices. this clearly shows that it is a connection problem? shouldnt I be able to see the phone through adb before proceeding with the kdz updater
thanks a lot :good:

wwwwwWWOOOW!!! :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::highfive:
after months of trying my phone and the usb drivers got enlightened by the easter spirit apparently and they found common ground.
this is what I did:
I used a new PC Windows XP based
Uninstalled completely every single android driver on my computer (I did that already before) - I was using Universal Adb drivers because this made FWUpdater to work last time. I first uninstalled the devices from the device manager and afterwards from the uninstall programs.
I spotted that the LG mobile modem driver was not installed.
Downloaded official drivers from LG site, specifically for my mobile.
connected my computer, let the drivers find communications and install phone as USB Composite device & modem as LGE Modem.
Disabled the LG Modem from device manager
Restart the PC
(I already had MSXML SP3 installed)
Disable antivirus
Run Windows enabler
Run KDZ_FW_UPD and patch the firmware
the proccess hasnt finished yet but I dont think there will be a problem as this will most definately get me out of emergency download mode so I can install anything I want from the SDCard - I swear to god I will not mess again with usb drivers, ADB and KDZ FW Updater :fingers-crossed:

I am running CM10.1 for some days now and I wouldnt say I am satisfied from the phone's speed after restoring my old apps+data from the Titanium Backup. (about 45 apps I'd say), although I've created partitions, swap etc.
I know that lots of apps make the phone run slow, but most of them are needed + I dont think they run on the background, so I cant understand the speed decrease...
Do you think flashing the CM11 and the Lspeed mod would make things run smoother and faster? :/ or should I switch back to CM10 ?

I am running CM10.1 for some days now and I wouldnt say I am satisfied from the phone's speed after restoring my old apps+data from the Titanium Backup. (about 45 apps I'd say), although I've created partitions, swap etc.
I know that lots of apps make the phone run slow, but most of them are needed + I dont think they run on the background, so I cant understand the speed decrease...

L Speed mod is recommended for all devices and all roms, you just need to find the correct settings for your specific rom and device.
CM11 is smoother then CM10.
cm11 sometimes has bugs, cm10 does not. My recommendation is to try both cm10 and cm11 and flash the L Speed mod and try to find your optimal settings

can you recommend the optimal settings for L speed mod??
I have these shown in the picture bellow right now, I changed them a bit from the default, I also run battery calibration, but I still have some problems:
first of all there is a battery drain which is pretty bad, sometimes battery gets very low without even using the phone.
also my phone is really slow when using some apps, specially with multitasking. at first when I didnt install all the apps I am using it was really fast and stable, now even though I tried not to install so many apps, I am having a serious problems as phone lags so much, and many times I have to restart it.
I think that not having enough RAM is the problem of that, can you give any advice on that?
** edit: I have partitioned my card and also have swap. is there any chance my sd is slow and its slowing down the entire phone? :/ I have a Kingston SDHC 8gb

well every thing depends on the rom you using, i keep my settings at default. And im on cm10. My ram is always maxed out but when i use LS all i do is boost memory. Theres always a little lag. But my device works pretty well. No i dont think sd card is the issue. My battery darin is high to when i actively use my device. In deep sleep battery hardly drains. Your battery problem may be the battery it self, Samsung devices have a battery issue. The bat needs to be changed every 6 months. Iv bin using mine tow years now. But its still working well.
