Does anyone know where i can buy a flex cable for a touch dual?
not the keypad flex cable, but an actual flex cable connecting the lcd to the main board... mines got damaged from excessive sliding and now the screen sometimes turns black and other times its fine...
Well, I'm selling my Nike so if you were interested you could take the flex cable from that?
See my sig for details.
hey all these days my wizard would sync perfectly but today it jsut charges and doesn't sync i did a hard reset but still don't work .. i tried in a different computer and it doesn't even identify it
anyone have this problem???
had the same problem. all days it worked and then suddenly just charging (no sync, no identification). I also did a hard reset but this changed nothing. then I did not use my wizard quite a while (about 3 months)...tried it again and it worked perfectly fine. i have no idea where the problem was...so mate I have no idea how to solve it but you see...there was a happy end
I just got given a Wizard and it's got this problem too, charging but no sync. Problem with mine looks like a damaged mini USB connector. I can see that the plastic in front of one of the pins on the bottom of the phone is broken.
This thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=300240 has some suggestions on where to get replacement connectors.

how easy is to replace this connector.
i have replaced the screen and got all the way down to the MOBO but i didnt see that mini connector.
edit: i meant i did see the connector but its soldered to the MOBO so i was wondering if this can be replaced.
im having the same problem
In the forum link I posted above people have said that you can damage your MOBO easily if the PCB gets too hot when soldering.
I have access to a hot air tool used for SMD components, which lets me heat all the pins on the mini USB connector evenly. Using a soldering iron would be more difficult and increase the chances of damaging the MOBO.
A few month's ago I'd ordered a LCD screen replacement for my incredible, and so when I got back from work o immediately took out the LCD from the package and started taking out my old broken. For me it was my first time experience replacing an LCD phone screen, anyways back to what I was going to say was when I unplugged the connector for the screen and the motherboard itself, after attempt to plug the connectors back together; the display connector plugged in perfect while the connector for the motherboard didn't do so well. The white piece that covers the PCB Connector, it tears a little bit off and I'd tried to power on the phone, meanwhile it didn't I tried again and things got worst. So I search online for a PCB Connector and see one, so I decided to and try to rip off the PCB Connector and plan to order the PCB Connector. So the part to attempt ripping off the PCB Connector didn't go so well, and stop there before things got worst. Any suggestions how I can replace that? I can't just leave my phone in my room and have to cover in dust. I need my phone back, how can I fix these? I know this thread seems long but I tries but it details for you guys.
Hello,
I was trying to replace broken USB connector.
I was using hot air and at the end connector is replaced but I blown away some 0201 SMD parts.
Any chance to get form someone what it was (R/C) and which value?
Thanks
It charges. The alarm goes off in the morning. But the screen doesnt respond and at first it was flickering toward the bottom. Now its black.
Ive torn it down about 50% and dont see anything wrong. The connections seem fine.
There are three photos on the phone I must have for work. Must.
Ideas on repair? Or data recovery? When I plug in the usb to pc I hear the noise and I know its asking 'charge', or 'transfer files'. Without screen response I can do nothing.
Any assistance to get it working or data recovery would be hugely appreciate.
Edit: The glass is not cracked or broken. Ive dropped it literally 100 times. In the first month I fell and sat on it breaking the back cover. I replaced that. That was 2 years ago. Some background of the device.
You destroyed lcd, so replace it or use o Mouse with otg usb c adapter and try to change connection to file transfer

otg usb c adapter. I have the usb c cord. otg adapter is something I need to get I take it. Thanks for responding.
The important thing is you're ok. Lol, all my bikes are worth more than my phone... I hope yours isn't too damaged.
Try disconnect/reconnecting the battery and reboot; a hard reboot.
If you're lucky a ribbon connector, or ground pathway was displaced.
Either the display is damaged and/or the mobo.
The BGA chipsets can't have their solder joints inspected and even finding visible solder cracks is difficult on surface mount components. High G impacts and excessive flexing can internally damage chipsets, solder joints and multilayered PCBs.

A damaged lcd will flicker, not respond and go black? The glass is not cracked or broken.
The glass and digitizer are one piece it appears.
Amazon.com
So far Ive found no ribbons disconnected. Ive inspected as close I can all visible connections. Nothing stands out.
A lcd arrives tomorrow. So well see if I get a response when I plug it in...
Like tv, if you punch lcd it won't shatter, the crystal will flood or it just flicker, so yes it doesn't have to be damaged visibly to be broken

The battery may have been damaged, keep that in mind. Make sure the phone has enough voltage and current to run.
XDA is awesome. You guys are the best. You may have thwarted an injustice. Saved the files. New lcd heated and I have clamps on it so it seals, hopefully. The frame was slightly bent which was making it hard to keepit on. Im on the home stretch I think.
edit: What to do with an old lcd...
Next project - unbricking an lg stylo 4 with the ch.co message.
