Help!!
I got the phone last sunday (15th May) from o2 and from day one I have had this problem
I updated the Samsung app then It said that there was an update available for the camera so I downloaded and started the install.
It said it would take 4 minutes but I got a error message after about 2/3 minutes and it stopped the install.
Trouble is now my camera doesn't work and I haven't got the option of trying a fresh install of the camera firmware.
Tried
soft/hard reset
flash ke2 firmware
but I cant get the camera functioning again
Any ideas apart from taking it back to the store which I dont want to do as they have no more in stock?

Have you tried flashing back to whatever firmware was on the phone when you bought it? I know you said you'd re-flashed KE2 but was that the stock FW? Try flashing stock KE1, see if that helps.
The firmware that was on it originally was the one before the ke1 but I cant find that one on o2.
I will have another look tomorrow after work.

I flashed with the very first software but still no joy in getting the camera working.
I noticed that one of the options on the *#*#34971539#*#* menu is -CAM to phone FW Dump
If someone can dump their working FW with this option then I assume I can install it with the PHONE to Cam FW Write?

Hmmm, crap... I'm actually a bit scared to try this Got the phone yesterday and would like to know for sure exactly what the Cam to phone FW dump does (even though the name is pretty explanatory).

Yeah I wonder if any can confirm that is safe to dump the camera fw to phone?
I have seen on the galaxy s forum that they have successfully used the write camera fw from phone to flash new firmware.
It would be good if it is possible to do it this way then we will be able to back up our camera firmware incase any has problems like I am having at the minute with my camera.

Right sorted phone exchanged instore (gave me one that was reserved for someone else cos they had none left)
Phone is already on KE2 firmware but this one is locked to o2.
damn, I'm another victim of the failed update via samsung apps.
Unfortunately I can not return it (bought it in another country).
Can someone take a dump of the cam firmware and upload it so I can write it properly?
Partial solution -
So I reflashed various firmwares, dumped the camera FW to phone and tried to reload it (this failed as they were the same version.
If I disable auto flash the cam works fine, though the video sometimes works and sometimes does not.
Help me plz i also have this problem and don't know what to do !!!

Do you know any firmware newer than this? bcoz i cannot update again it says i already have the latest version, but actually i have failed the update.

Same here, anyone came up with workable solution to reverse the update or replace with a working firmware. If it was possible just to re-install the firmware using the update then things would be so much simpler !
long shot but have you tried the emergency firmware recovery option in kies?

Probably not. I just updated the camera with no problem at all. But can't say i noticed any difference, i still have the pink spot.
don't tell me about little faults i haven't noticed yet (or don't have)

Try reading a few threads and you will get worried, lol. Just a pink spot on camera, a yellow tint in the lower left of the screen when using lower brightness and a blue tint when rotating. Those are just the screen issues Ignore them if you wanna sleep comfortably at night
hmm, mine don't seem to have any of those
Guys, just checked and there is an update to 1.29.1540.16. I am installing now. Hopefully it has the cameras fixes.

Well no new camera, but they did fix the home and back button sensitivity. They work consistently as they should now.

question, did you get a list of changes when the OTA pop appear? or just "system enhancements" ?

Custom recovery update?
I have the Team Win's recovery flashed on my Dev Edition. When I try to update, TWRP starts and no update happens.
How should the OTA updates be addressed with custom recoveries?
No updates yet for international version. I am still using 1.29.707.16 Hopefully we get the new updates soon.

I am on AT&T edition running a dev edition ROM. It is showing the update for me but I am on CWM recovery. I'm assuming all we need is stock recovery for it to work right?

I hope many people might be getting OTA updates on their one 64 GB developer edition .. Any more guys wanna comment who have recieved it ?
Just got this on my US 32GB Unlocked! Glad the US Unlocked and Dev Edition are getting prompt updates.

The number at the end is the build version. .16 is definitely the latest one.

Just said system enhancements. We came from 1.29.1540.3, not 1.26 or 1.28, so probably not much changed for us. I didn't have any issues with my back and home buttons before the update so not sure about that. The update was about 17 MB.

Did you check ur camera app version cause .16 is the latest and should have camera...what is ur camera version?

You need stock recovery for OTAs, otherwise wait for someone to release a zip unless you know how to make one yourself.

Nice! Just got the update notice too (on a US developer edition). Using CWM right now, so have to get back to stock recovery right?

EDIT: Just tried it and it hangs at "Entering recovery". How is one supposed to flash the stock recovery?
EDIT 2: Ok, I had to use the "ruuveal" tool on the RUU zip file, then unzip the result and install the original recovery with fastboot. It worked
Have the 32gb unlocked version and installed the update. 17.5 MB.

Downloaded, said couldn't update. I am on a custom kernel and have cwm, also I am technically on an AT&T phone even though I'm on DE ROM.

i have an extremly weird problem, i can update without any adb error what so ever, but once the phone restarts, i do not have any modem connection, the modem under setting even tells me unknown version! oO i have zero idea whats up,
can someone provide a modem backup that i can flash manualy maybe?

Hi bros. First of all i want to thank to developer for download link. It is working very good on retde version.
I have noticed a speed improvements and several bug fixes.
Is this OTA rolled out in multiple waves? Because I don't have a notification yet.
Hello, this OTA is only a Soak Test, so only selected users get this at the moment. Motorola will roll out the final OTA to all devices starting next week. But this still can take some time for you, because the Update gets rolled out in waves, not to all users at the same time. If you want feel free to download and install the OTA.zip from this thread manually this is just a copy of the original Motorola update File of the one the Soak testers get. It's not difficult or illegal and it works well. I've installed it on my own device. Cheers.

I got this via OTA, did not apply for any soak tests.
anyone else here experiencing high battery drain after the 5.1 update?
today I was at 58% at 12:30 with moderate use. before the update I would be above 70% percent at that hour with that kind of usage

Today - - July 20th, according to schedule posted on Telus website, is supposed to be the start of the official 5.1 OTA roll-out for our XT1097 RETCA phones.
I am not yet seeing it pushed on my end but eagerly awaiting to test it out. I thought I would start a little thread here so people can post their results, upgrade experience, overall performance etc. [MODS: if this thread is deemed repetitive or unnecessary, please let me know]

That was me. I was surprised that they answered me again. They said July 18th at that time. Then it says the 20th.

Thanks bertiespeed! Good link to have, I was wondering how active those Moto subforums are but it seems like a reliable place. So eager for this to land on my phone. I flashed the stock brazilian 5.1. firmware just to see the overall feel of stock 5.1 compared to 5.0 >> NIGHT and DAY. Huge difference.... looking forward to the RETCA version. I will post back here as soon as I get the OTA notification, for the moment back to NX rom :good:

Update 7/24/2015: All users on Retail Wind and Telus (22.121.11.victara_retca.retca.en.CA) can download and install Android 5.1.
I am unfortunately on the road and cant do anything till after the weekend. If any of you here using the Telus XT1097 RETCA get the OTA please let us know here....

I've been searching for 23.16.1.victara_retca.retca.en.CA full firmware to keep as backup, I still haven't found it. I prefer flashing full firmware using fastboot, rather than doing a system backup/restore using a custom recovery.

Thank you for that, I will try to download it, but I'm not hopeful, downloading a GB from Filefactory could take from 3 to 6 hours, if it ever finishes. Motofirmware still doesn't have it.
OK, downloaded, and flashed all files, no problems (I was on CyanogenMod).

perhaps you could outline exactly what you have been doing?
Unlocked bootloader rooted installed twrp now unrooted as had its update but wouldn't install downloaded stock rom and boot img installed great but now can't find ota update thought about rooting again but then I have to use sunshine to unlock my cid just wish I ain't messed around with it....

Not too sure where you are but i would suggest going back to stock again as you need this even to manually install an OTA.
For me i downloaded this file;

Renamed the file 0PJAIMG.zip and put it on the external SD card. The card should be formatted FAT32 and nothing apart from the zip should be on there. When you reboot into download mode, you will be prompted to flash the zip.
This will wipe your data, so backup what you need
Once you get back to stock the OTA should start
would the zip let you open it? ......Thanks will give it ago will message back if its worked or not cheers
You don't really need to open it.
Just rename as indicated and copy it to the external SD card etc.

I don't believe they actually got an update out in a timely manner. Just days after I pay to get S-OFF and flash an unbranded rom as well!

I feel your pain. I almost went s-off yesterday and stumbled across a twitter post about Wi-Fi calling being enabled on the M9 with the OTA so I decided to return to stock this morning and boom.....
But I agree with you EE is not very fast with updates and does not keep users informed

I don't think I've ever stopped on a T-Mobile/EE rom for longer than a week. They're normally well behind even the other UK networks with updates.
I'll stay on 2.10.401.1 anyway. I doubt EE will be this fast with any future minor updates.
