Well, today I discovered that you can change the stupid tabbed Settings layout to a more natural list with sections.

Thanks for making sure. I just dont understand why make the tabs at all. The list is much easier and more logical system to navigate and use. Samsung did the same thing and I hated it. Thankfully LG allows you to change it to list.

Hi
I am sure that I am not alone when I look at the new WM6.5 Start Menu and it just looks plain bloody ugly where it was once honeycomb and now all the icons are spaced oddly in rows of 3 icons then the next row below has only two and on and on..
Is it possible to go more down the line of having them all line up both horizontally and vertically.
See below mock up please.
Regards

That would look nice. Also, how about being able to arrange alphabetically?
My thoughts exactly
Can't be that hard. But since i'm using Launchpad nowadays, i'm not gonna make it

Would be cool as above Launchpad & Launchmanager are good progs but an app to replicate WM6.1 menu with Start Menu hook and the ability to change background "and other tweaks" would be sweeeet
If you have any luck let me know! It seems that the honeycomb is forced. The only way I could get it half-decent was a single column (i.e. a list). For more details, look at:

And with reStart you can tweak it still a bit more like changing folders, arrange icons etc

Looks Good
Someone over at Android Central asked about changing the default Contacts/People icon and although I wasn't able to successfully change that, I was able to change the default incoming call picture on the EVO.
See http://forum.androidcentral.com/general-help-how/88768-change-android-man.html for info.

I put this in place of the Android...
(I know... I'm weird)
That's pretty cool, I'll have to mess around with this when I get home. Does this hack get erased every time you change themes?

I've never done themes so not sure if it gets erased. It's a change to a system file so my guess is that it won't.
Tried for hours to change the default contact silhouette pic but no joy. I see my pic has changed but nothing actually shows the change. :-(

The only reason I ask is because, I notice some themes change it when you apply them. Some are cool looking, some are not. Sometimes I get that ugly one which looks like the silhouette of an old lady. Ruins the theme in my opinion.

There is no way to get it to display just the name of the person messaging you without also previewing the message is there?
Ok the question is not as stupid as you think, maybe. When choosing a photo from the gallery to set as wallpaper the selection rectangle has two wings on the side, I can not figure out what they do actually. In fact they do not seem to do anything at all. but it seems to me that if they are there, they must have some sort of function?

It shows the part of your picture showing horizontly and verticaly
It's a sizing grid or frame, showing what portion of the image will be used for the wallpaper. If the original image is much larger, you can choose which area of the image to use as the wallpaper or resize the image by dragging the grid.

Hello guys,
After some updates, I noticed a button like a slider on notification panel but it is not active.
I could not slide right side or something like that. It seems fixed button.
What was that?
do a long press on it and it should bring up app info for the app that created it. then just click on the i symbol

that's not a notification. it looks like a tab to bring up a side bar or news service, could be a horizontal homescreen indicator (haven't used tw in years sorry), does it move or stay still ?
to sum up, I don't know sorry
