[Q] Phone recognizing my touches on touch screen at wrong places - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So basically after flashing my note 4 several times my screen messed up. At first i flashed back to stock tmobile rom and it didnt work. Basically the problem is if i touch a certain part of my screen, it reads it as if i pressed a lower part of my screen. It doesnt read where i want to press it and the calibration is way off. I tried a calibration app but it did not work, and the only way im still using it is through my s pen which works perfectly fine. I even tried to flash a new rom (cyagonmod) but it still had the same problem, so i flashed back to stock rom and its still glitchy, PLEASE HELP!

I dont know exactly the service code. But there is a code that updates the touch screen firmware. Many users have solved this problem. If you can google or some other user can tell

Had the same problem here, your phone is blocking at the Samsung screen, your phone is actualy booted but not able to load touchwiz. wich app did you use? If you used one which survives reboot you have a problem otherwise hold the start button for more then 7 seconds and it should work.
Romanian too

[Q] Random Touch gestures

First this is what I have:
HTC HD2(LEO) TMOUS
Android NAND: CMYLXGO's Stock Desire HD(NEWEST)
MAGLDR 1.13
16GB SDCARD
I TRIED GOOGLING AND SEARCHING FOR THE ANSWER
For some reason when im using the phone it seems to randomly acting like its being touch. The has never been broken, has a hard case. Im not sure what could be causing this. It doesnt happen on stock rom wasnt sure if it could be caused by the rom or kernel? Thank you for the help.
I have/had the same problem. It only happened when the screen got a bit of moisture on the screen then that certain part of the screen would go crazy with keyboard taps etc. I think it's your screen, as mine only started happening after I got a new screen, which I then had to get replaced, again.
Mine has done that. It would randomly spell words or poem apps like the screen was being touched. My screen was dry and clean. I just did a factory reset.
Well a clean install of Tom and it went away

Need Advice N7 Screen issue.

Hello-
I usually do not open threads but I need advice on this recent touch responsiveness issue that has been happening. My Nexus 7 8 GIG was running great I had not had one issue with it, until one day I opened the case "Poetic leather case with magnet locks" and the screen came on notifications were on and animated everything looked fine. I went to unlock it and the touch screen did not respond to anything, now the screen rotates fine and all but it would not respond to touch. So I reset it with the power button, the touch screen then works until it times out and turns off, I wake it up and the screen does not respond again. I took it out of the case and have manually turned it on/off and it still does not respond to touch, but it will work every time I reset it. This problem has came out of nowhere it was running great.
I was originally on AOKP Milestone 1 with Franko's Kernel r25 so I thought maybe that was it so I re flashed Milestone 1 and kept the stock kernel and the problem persists. So I wiped everything and put BAMF Paradigm on it and it still does this, but the touch screen responds every time it is manually reset so I am trying to figure out if this is hardware or software related I am led to believe it is software considering the touch screen works flawlessly upon reboot but again I am not sure.
I have not added any new apps or anything like that to cause a memory leak or such. This problem started when I left the N7 for two days without touching it, then the problem happened after I tried to use it after the two days of inactivity.
Update: I turned the N7 off for about a day booted it back up now the touch screen is working every time I am confused.
So I still have 7 months on my ASUS manufactures warranty should I send this unit back? I just do not want to think its software related and it will get fixed through updates and then find out it is hardware related and be out of the warranty period.
I am on 4.1.2 with the last boot loader "not the new one"
latest version of TWRP
Thanks everyone in advance for your time.
It seems like a magnet bad effect to me! not sure though cuz the nexus 7 suppose to work fine with magnetic cases but it could be a Magnetic field effect. In my opinion as long as it works don't send it cuz you don't know what happens there in the service center, I mean once the device is opened it would never get the same as before.

Nexus 4 Soft buttons not working in Portrait mode!

My Friend's N4 has developed a strange problem. The Soft buttons (Home, Back & Recent Apps) are not working when the phone is held in portrait orientation. However, they do work in landscape orientation.
He tested the touch screen with a multi touch tester app and found that there is no touch response at the lower portion of the screen exactly in that area that would get occupied by the soft button bar in portrait mode.
The phone is all stock. Non-rooted and bootloader is locked.
Anyone faced such an issue? Please help!
I have the exact same problem, as many other it seems. If i turn the phone clockwise, so that the back arrow/home/apps buttons are displayed where the signal bar is, the buttons work as ecpected; on the other hand, if i rotate the phone the opposite way, the buttons do not work.
It's curious because, as you can see from the partial screenshot below, the phone is rotated counter clockwise and i have swiped to test google now (you can see the dots near the back arrow). So i guess that means that some touch input is registered after all.
I'd like to make some test with those multitouch apps. Can you suggest one?

hello,
i sent mine for repair since it is still covered by the warranty. anyway, due to my post service ((, it will take some more days until i receive it. will keep you updated if anything has changed (hopefully for the better).
Hello I have the same problem!!
I have already did a full wipe and installed CM 11 and Paranoid Android but still facing the same issue!!! Any ideas?
Sounds like you have a hardware problem, you'll need to buy and replace the screen and digitizer assembly.

i have the exact same problem and my warantee expired. it seems most people have this prob after the warantee expires.
Check out the guide below and hopefully you can avoid replacing your nexus 4 screen or digitiser

Touch Issue Spen works but fingers dont.

I have a very peculiar problem with touch screen. My phone does not recognise my touch after swithing on or unlocking. It happens after 2 seconds or 2 minitues. Time and no of touch do not matter. Its just happen no matter what I do. But everytime this happens I lock the phone & unlock it and then only it recongnise my touch. This is keep happening again and again. S pen works and thank God for that I can manage. I have tried everythig from updrading firmware by dialing *#2663# to flashing official ROM. I have tried flashing Dr Ketan ROM, Ram ROM, Norma ROM, EmotionOS, Emotion Revolution, Nemesis ROM, Emotion AOSP, Resurrection Remix, CyanogenMod, Omega ROM and more.
My phone once got wet in my pocket due to rain. It was all good untill I swith it off to dry the battey. Screen did not work properly after booting for the first time but then I discharge the battery completely and dried it for a whole day and everything worked out fine. After few days I flash a new ROM(I don't remember which one) and then screen issue started.
Can anybody please help me with this? I have a N910F note 4 currenly running Red Dragon ROM.

I thinks its a software issue rather than a hardware. Besides I dont konw how to open the screen and I dont have the right tool to open it. The screen does recongnise touch up untill it doesn't. Locking and unlooking the phone makes the touch screen work but only for few minutes or seconds. Is there another way you could hepl me fix it ?
Tty installing a custom recovery like twrp it has an option of touch if it also doesnt recognixe it there just knw its a hardware issue
