Edit : CF-auto root for VNF9 firmware is working on WOEA firmware . Though XMod is not working... . But other root apps (titanium backup , greenify etc.) are working nice .
Are there any disadvantages to using a KitKat kernel with Lollipop? Do we lose anything by using an older kernel (like wifi, processor, ram or video performance?) Are they linked at all? I'm not quite sure how much the kernel has to do with each build.

No issues so far. I am using over a month now.
Does it still use voice over lte and the art run time?

Sorry for the late reply.
My country has not yet enabled LTE service. So, I couldn't test that yet. But the LTE is on, I mean if I turn no it doesn't force closes or creates any problem.
And for art run time, it is working without any issue. But there is no options for switching to dalvik.

The latest Samsung build I tried was KI4; excellent firmware and is leaps and bounds above the Bell firmware in every aspect. There are newer 2.3.5 builds, but I'm not on a Samsung based ROM currently.
Bell Canuck thread.
Firmware thread.
Search Original Android Dev for the latest/greatest firmware; it changes rapidly.
I wouldn't worry about updating your firmware via Kies if you're on Bell; you may NEVER see an update.

Read and research some more until you're comfortable. You only have to worry about matching kernel to firmware if you're doing a simple root, and retaining your current firmware. I've run 3 or 4 of the XXK_ _ firmwares, which are all Euro specific. No issues whatsoever.
Bell would likely tell you to pound sand if you tried to get warranty work done however, despite the fact you would have an official Samsung firmware (but not Bell's firmware).
When/if you flash a non-Bell firmware follow the instructions in the thread I linked to the letter, and yes, PDA is all you need, it has CSC, kernel, etc... in it.
You can then track down a CF-Root kernel for that firmware.
I thought I would create this thread as all section's have one except us.

Tried using Es and Root Browser. Also tried using Fix Permissions in Recovery.

I was running stock 4.2.2 on my tab 2 10.1, and decided a week ago to try out 4.3.1 using the CM 10.2 nightly builds. I was very pleased with the 1105 build and have been using the 1108 build for the past 5 days. Much smoother, faster, and best of all, the bloatware Samsung puts in is gone! I've not seen any issues, or crashes so far.

If you want to change region code you would have to root your tab (root loses warranty) so your best option is to go to sammobile.com/firmwares and download latest firm for your tab! This will not void your warranty! If u ever have a problem and you need to take your tab for repair through warranty you can flash the firm for your country and then take to Samsung

"North American" N910C note 4 variant doesn't exist. Go to http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ and search for SM-N910C firmware. There are several regions that released MM for N910C, but I recommend the Poland (XEO) version.

I see. I just don't have a pc. I was able to temp root with king root, flash twrp, and then from there flash a kernel to get perm root.......so is there any way to get to MM from there without a pc? I can't get a rom to flash, it just gives me an error about being unable to map the file. Not sure what that is about, it was the note 5 rom v05. Radio and kernel flashed just fine though. Edit: Keeps giving me an Error 7 when trying to flash ROMs in particular. Edit again: It was the kernel i was using to Perm root. It wasn't liking me installing a rom with that i guess. I restored and skipped the install of that and then was able to get a rom to install so ignore that, but my original question about MM with no PC still persists.

Yes please lol. I think I was sold a phone with bad hardware or maybe just a bad battery. On stock LP the battery acts really funny. It'll get to a certain percentage and either shut down on me or I have visually watched the percentage just drop by 1 percent until it's dead in 2 second intervals even after attempting to calibrate it. It seems better on a custom rom and I haven't experienced it yet. I'm hoping it's just a bad battery but I can't seem to find another one to buy to test it out. A couple of times on stock too while changing animation speeds the screen would start flashing red (not the red borders) I mean the whole screen would flicker and would only go away on a restart. Not sure what that was about. I only payed $100 off of CL for this phone. If it really is just the battery, that's a helluva deal lol.

I used App Freezer to freeze all the bloatware and it's cleared up my app screen greatly.
You need to ADB into the phone to set permissions for the app, so that's a bit tricky, but worth it.

Got an update today for a205u on tmobile it was a security patch not android 10 why is it taking so long
Just got the Android 10/One UI 2.0 yesterday.
I am in Ottawa Canada.
I was interested how much the Pro settings had changed in the Camera App.
I was looking for Shutter Speed and Exposure Time settings which had been rumoured to be in these updates.
Alas they are not.
I was hoping they settings would be there to aid in my astrophotography until I get a dedicated telescope webcam (SVBony SV305 or better).
Maybe the settings I want will be released in One UI 2.5.
A bit disappointed.
Update
I just found Camera FV-5 App and it does everything I want.

Bootloader gets updated too. That's why I was making a joke.
Used a different site to download, gonna test and I'll report back
xfinity Q firmware works on the tmo-metro a20s. make sure to factory reset after installing or itll jump to recovery with an error.
(just in case) the update does not enable the oem unlock option.

Well I still have the Question has anyone on the any of the A205U has anyone gotten the official android 10 update from their carrier yet ? We know Xfinity mobile's firmware works for almost everyone on this phone so why is it taking so long for our carrier's to put out the update when Xfinity mobile got this update a month ago ??
