[Q] Bootloop on 5.1.1 [GROUPER] - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, sorry for the noob question.
I've been trying to update my N7 wifi to lollipop, but everytime I try I ended in a bootloop. In 4..4.4 I didn't have any issue. Searching in other forums I've found that when this behavior starts the tablet is about to die, is this true? Also I was reading that the bootloader that came in the last versions is corrupt, but I'm not sure if there is a fix for that.
I manage again to downgrade to KK 4.4.4, but I really want to have Lollipop on it, guess I'll have to wait to Android M, any suggestions?
Thanks!

My Nexus 4 wont update (still works only 4.2.2) boot loop

Hello Guys,
I'm with a problem in my #nexus4 .. If i update my device to #android 4.3 or newer my phone gets #bootloop and don't start anymore. I read a lot of tips to solve that but nothing worked. I tried to reflash with stock firmware from google (developers images to nexus devices) but didnt work (flash-all.bat), i tried use #NexusRootToolkit but happened the same situation. I tried to install the versions 4.3, 4.4, 4.4.2, 4.4.4, 5.0 and happened the same problem at all.
Someone could help me? Because i didnt find how to solve since a last year. I'm using android 4.2.2 because its the only one that works.
I tried all methods like flash stock rom, but, wont works. ....
Could someone help me with that please??
I have the same problem, can someone help ?
Any updates?
I have the same problem. I used to get the bootloop when I updated from 4.4.3 to 4.4.4 and from 4.4.4 to 5.0 and from 5.0 to 5.01 and in all those times, from what I can recall, a wiping of the cache/delvik + fix-permissions + install the modified boot image from NRT - solved the problem.
However - a couple of days ago, after getting the Google Cardboard and playing around with it, installing all the VR stuff and playing with magnets around my phone to get it to work with the VR - I think I must've damaged something because it suddenly died and refused to get back up and out of a bootloop. I tried the above procedures and it didn't work. I went back to version 5.0, then 4.4.4 and further back till only 4.2.2 worked, as with the first post here. It's the only version that doesn't give me the bootloop. If I try then to upgrade I again get the bootloop, whether it's a full flashing or an OTA update (to 4.3).
One thing I noticed with 4.2.2 - it's not acting all that well: when I download apps through Google Play some of them seem to get stuck at 85-95% on the download and won't install. Maybe I have a faulty storage issue...?
Any insight on how to fix that?? Any news from those who experienced the same issue?
Thanks!

I think it's a defective device. You have to repair or change it. Sorry
No Sensors
Looks like none of my sensors are working, judging from 3 sensor testing apps I've downloaded. Seems as if the motherboard is defective.

[Q] Dumb question: Will OTA update break my phone?

Hi all,
I did search before posting this, but couldn't find quite the question/answer I was looking for. I've got a rooted S4 SPH-L720.
I've got a custom ROM installed, Sacs 4.3, and the phone has been fine. I just got the system update downloaded and the button to install it. I've got TWRP as my recovery right now.
Last time I had one of these I just turned off notifications, but wasn't sure if this is an important update, or what it even updates? Is it only for phones running Stock?
Thanks,
-Jeff

How Do I Downgrade From Lollipop 5.0.1 OC3 to Kitkat 4.4?

Good day everyone, my friend upgraded his at&t i337 device to the official lollipop, but the issue is, I can't get the phone rooted, tried kingo root and a host of others but all prove abortive. So I need downgrade back to kitkat so I will upgrade back to a rooted lollipop rom since it's the only way out. Thanks!
Look at this thread and this.
Also, read around the forum for information you may find useful before trying that. I've read that kingroot (not kingoroot) may work on 5.0.1. Start here.

Thank you, friend. I already downgraded since yesterday. I know how to work it and all that stuff, was only scared that the bootloader wasn't downgradeable since I intending going back to stock. So I downgraded the moment I found that OC3 bootloader allows downgrading to nb1. Thanks again!

Flash Stock ROM [Q/A]

Hey Guys,
today i got a Galaxy s4 black edition and there is a ROM called: Phoenix Rom. So i want to flash back to Stock ROM but im really not sure which one i want to flash on it because i dont want to brick my phone or something. Can i flash this http://www.handy-faq.de/forum/galaxy-s4-i9505xxugng8-kk-4-4-odin-kies-dbt-1t-23-07-2014-t306745/ without any problems?
Phone: GT-I9505
Basisbandversion: I9505XXUGNG8
Buildnumber: KOT49H.I9505XXUGNF1
That ROM will work without a problem. However, that may not have the added wallpapers and sounds the black edition devices have. Is there a reason you're not wanting Android 5.0.1 on your device?

Thanks for your Answer, i flashed that rom and it works perfectly. There is also an OTA update for Lollipop but im not sure to do that because i heard that lollipop has a lot of bugs like battery draining and so on. Im afraid if i upgrade it to lollipop i cannot downgrade it to KK. But do u think i should update?
I'm inclined to believe Samsung patched the battery drain bug, but you'd have to try it and find out. If you end up not liking it, going back down to the earlier version shouldn't be an issue, especially as you already have a Knox-enabled bootloader on your S4. There are tutorials on the forums here that I believe walk you through the process. Take a look at them before doing the OTA update.

Is it really that my knox bootloader is enabled or not if i do the OTA update? And how can i see that it is enabled or not? Anyway can i root my phone if im on lollipop with CF auto root trough odin ?
You installed Android 4.4.2. 100% positive you have Knox, as all Samsung firmware from 4.3 on has it. Installing the OTA update will restore the Knox apps. Fortunately, CF-AutoRoot still works so you'll have no issues rooting if you install the update.
Ok thank you for your helpful advises, i will flash a kernel on my s4 to stop this overheating issue.

Still need help with Reverting back to Kitkat on S5

So I posted a thread the other day to try and find help with my S5 I just got, yet no avail. So I'm here again, trying a new one to see if it gets me anywhere. The problem is this, I believe my phone is un-able to revert to Kitkat, because Kitkat was never on it in the first place. It came stock, out of the box with Lollipop. So I'm looking for anyway to get it to Kitkat, even if I have to brick the darn thing by removing the bootloader and everything on the phone to load in stock kitkat. So any advice or questions would be so very helpful. I'm going crazy trying to find a solution! Please help!
