HI GUYS,
i have a SGS4 I9500. i flashed the chinese lollipop firmware and after using it for a while i was having problems with the chinese system messages and the fact that it didnt had any gapps. i have been trying since several days to flash stock firmware of other regions but odin keeps on failing at system.img. does it have anything to do with the fact that i am on a chinese build and do i need to change the csc for flashing other firmwares.
any help would be highly appreciated.
thanks

I don't know if you actually searched for this or not, but if you didn't, you should have. Anyway, try this.

[Q] i9500CHN query

Hey all,
Quick question for those who may know about this model of the S4. I bought a lovely blue S4 here in China last week, and it unfortunately didn't come with Gapps. I tried to flash it with firmware from another region, but all the regions I have tried so far have failed, and the device soft bricked (despite it now showing as an i9500 device). Luckily, I managed to flash a recovery (cofface), and from there get Arrow's 8.0 ROM on the device.
However, I'm still unable to flash any stock firmware to the device (Odin fails each and every time), and I'm therefore wondering if that means that I will never be able to upgrade to Android 4.3 (and eventually 4.4) as I can't flash stock 4.3 firmwares, or the Adonis pit. I also don't seem to be able to flash stock Chinese software any longer, although that could be because I can't locate a 5-file version of the software.
Has anyone had a similar issue, or worked out a way to either return to stock, or to upgrade to 4.3? I'd be grateful for any help which could be offered here, as I love the handset, but don't want to always be stuck on a 4.2.
Cheers! :good:

[q] stuck on lollipop

Hi, After successfully adding cwm and installing a custom android (JFLTE-GPE-20150128) I am now stuck using lollipop only roms. I have tried finding a solution reading through diffent threads and I'm completely at a loss to fix the problem.
I have tried using odin to install offical kitkat firmware Australia (XSA) and that lead to a FAIL.
Sorry, I'm sure there is a thread about this already but I cannot seem to find it.

Apparently you can't go back to kitkat if you are on lollipop.
You are now condemned to stay with Lollipop, impossible to revert back

[Q] GT-i9508 Firmware update to Android Lollipop?

New to the forum but I do know a bit about custom ROMS and flashing (I think)
So basically, I own a Chinese variant Samsung Galaxy S4 (GT-I9508) that is rooted and currently in Android 4.3 Jellybean. Recently I saw some sites with unofficial firmware updates for this model (I9508) to Android 5.0.1 Lollipop and decided to give it a go at flashing. Tried about 3 different MD5 files using Odin v3.10, but every time it would fail, saying that no PIT files are found. So I then proceeded to look for PIT files for the I9508 model online, without any success. Do I need a PIT file for this? Or am I missing something else?
Dunno what's going on. Any answers will be much appreciated
thx

SM-G3608 custom firmware or root?

I know this question has been asked already but I was wondering if anybody can tell me if the TWRP and other variant firmware are compatible with this device.
Some background, I received this phone as an exchange for an S3 mini that I took into a repair shop, as the mechanic had lost all the working parts of my original phone.
I have updated all the apps and it appears to be working well, it's just that I would like to update the firmware to something newer, such as the 5.1.1 from the g361f or at least the 5.0.2 from the g360h.
Perhaps one of the guys in the forum are a samsung expert and could explain to me what the differences are between the variants and why flashing firmware from another version may or may not work.
P.S. I am familiar with Odin and have flashed many other Samsung phones with both stock and custom firmware.
Thanks in advance.

Samsung S8 firmware - Questions regarding flashing

Hey guys, I have a Samsung S8 which I was running LinageOS on but now was to revert back to the stock android ROM.
The issue I have is it appears to be a South Koera (KTC) phone, but it always has this KTMobile crap on it when I flash it. So my question is can I flash another firmware?
I need some help understanding the different components made up in the firmware and what I can and cannot deviate from (to avoid bricking).
AP
CSC
BL
CP
Which of these HAVE to be the same? Im guessing bootloader (BL) must match otherwise I will brick it.
There is also a little confusion over weather it is a SM-G950F or a SM-G950N. I have seen the phone report both.
Is there a way or a firmware I can flash without all the KTMobile crap on it, or could I just flash a New Zealand firmware as I am based in New Zealand.
The firmware I installed currently is G950NKSU5DUA2, but it is buggy and is causing crashes. Can I deviate from this G950NKSU5DUA2 and chose a different firmware?
Thanks in advance.
