Paranoid Android is a custom rom focused on open devices.
We aim to not simply add to Android but extend it, utilizing the same design philosophies Google uses with AOSP (Android Open Source Project).
Features
This is based on ParanoidAndroid. The goal behind this ROM is not to add tons of features but simply have the same as the official PA devices. So please don't ask about X or Y things to be added !
Installation instructions
1. Make a Nandoid Backup before all !
2. Be rooted
3. Have a custom recovery installed
4. Have flashed the Extended Partition Zip
4. Go to 2nd post and Download the ROM
5. Download gapps (recommended: TK GApps ones)
6. Download SuperSU
7. Reboot into recovery and perform a full wipe (for the first installation. Dirty flash should work for updates)
8. Flash the ROM
9. Flash the gapps
10. Flash SuperSU
11. Reboot and enjoy ! The first boot is longer than the others

About extended partition - It is clearly mentioned in the OP (Installation Instruction - tested only on extended partition)
Camera bug is also mentioned in the OP with the workaround (Known issues section)

Like said, please read the OP before asking question...
The Rom take around 620 Mb on the system partition, so it should work on stock partition but I don't have tested it.
No bugs noticed on phone calls
Wifi work perfectly

Yes, this feature is missed by some of the AOSPA Legacy community members and, I'm not 100% sure but I seem to remember that an AOSPA -Legacy admin said that this feature will be reintroduced. Plus home button to wake

Also I don't have the time to create a zip for stock partition, so if this build don't work on it, there will never be a stock partition system. Thanks for your comprehension

OK, I understand now. How is the battery-drain on CM11? This is one of the most negativ sides on all CM-ROMs I used on my devices for the last years, starting with CM7.2 on my Hannspad.

Well, i didn't personally test the battery backup much. We're focusing on main bugs like camera as of now. For battery, we'll try tweaking it as well but later, if we think its considerably less.

Okay device get black screen on some moments. Mostly when it's in my pocket and needs a reboot cause it's not usable. Other people encounter that bug?

Same problem.
With the screen off when the phone touch keys off.

I'm using this ROM for about 2 days already (in mi4) , never faced this ... Logcat / dmesg ?
Ah, Omni, my old friend...the only ROM which could contain my flashaholic tendencies long enough and stayed on my phone for more than 6 months...
Although it seems it has the call bug...without calling! :laugh:
I'll wait for that to be fixed at least.
PS. @rooque since these are homemade builds, would you considers merging the Layers commits? :fingers-crossed:
(I know that the Omni team strongly opposes the CM TE cuz of all its instability and FCs, but merging the commits will give those who want to theme a chance...)

I am having a look at that...seems to be a prob for some users
Trying the 8/5 test build for a few hours, I observed the followings:
It seems that almost everything works properly.
The rom is smooth, rather fast and stable.
ZeurionX kernel works fine on this rom.
Xposed also works on this rom without any problem.
Overall, awesome rom!

Yes, it is fixed. Only flashing a xiaomi.eu recent before caf aosp. After sensors working fine.

What is AOSP?
AOSP is Android as Google publish without other modifications. More or less AOSP is the Nexus devices stock rom without gapps. Anyway to get a working system we ported some changes from Cyanogenmod/LineageOS and CodeAurora repos.
Please do not ask for features to be added because we're not going to add more to keep this ROM small, fast and pure.

We do not support piracy that's why lucky patcher will not work and I advice u not to use it otherwise u can get banned

@mayu19 how is signal reception? is it stable ? I used RR and signal fluctuates a lot. I moved from 7.9.22 dev rom.
Came from lineage age and I might stay at this Rom. Everything works like a charm, maybe the battery is drained a bit faster than on lineage, but I am not 100 percent sure. Apart from that perfect as a daily driver...

Well, that's nonsense. I'm not an user of Lucky Patcher but I can see it can be used not for ilegal purposes only. If you say so, you should also disallow users to make a root. From one side you say you won't support Lucky Patcher, but on the other you encourge users even in first post to "use Magisk to get root privileges and bypass SafetyNet.".
That is absolutetly hypocrisy!
And one more thing. If you choose apps which will be not available to use on this rom then you are definetly not allowed to call it an AOSP rom as it is not stock at all but "stock with your ethical additives".
That's my voice in the discussion.

There is a big difference between too and lucky patcher . Why are you even getting so hyper if you don't use lucky patcher ? Keep calm , this is a community and we believe in peace and harmony. Being a dictator isn't gonna do any good to no one and if you don't even use any piracy app , then stop being so offended. Be a good peep and just keep patience and calm. No one is here to bash on no one. If you don't like the rom , just hope to another one. Do think , that the dev themselves work for you for free and just want nothing in return , just some thanks and appreciation for their hard work and the time they put on working for a rom.

The ota update screen looks beautiful. but somehow it doesnt work for me. i get always "corrupted system " sceen when i reboot my phone after ota has been installed.
Mic issue finally resolved? I can see one line in changelog about mic improvements but does it mean it has been completely fixed or still has minor issues?
Sorry to bother with such questions but it is quite a long process to change ROMs on this device without any custom recovery so it is better to be sure first.

Sorry to bother with such questions but it is quite a long process to change ROMs on this device without any custom recovery so it is better to be sure first.

I don't know if it's fixed or not because I don't use this device as main phone. Its just a device to flash roms and play a bit.
Flashing this rom takes 8 mins max. Dunno why you say it's a long process.

It is a long process for those who use NP1 as primary device with all the work related data also being present on the phone. We have to backup all the data first and then reinstall the apps and everything.
So flashing the ROM might take 8 mins but the preparation before flashing and processes after flashing can take a good amount of time.

I was referring to "without any custom recovery". Your answer with backup data doesn't make sense now.

As per my limited knowledge, if there's a proper custom recovery available, it's easy to switch ROMs without losing data. Just stay decrypted and you're good to go.
I don't know any method to change ROMs on NP1 without losing data. I hope this makes sense now as my mention of lack of custom recovery was still relevant to time consumed for data backup and restore while switching ROMs.
