The Note 4 on Sprint was recently updated to add Factory Reset Protection, like the S6 and S6 Edge. With the S6 and S6 Edge updates, the bootloader got locked in order to enforce FRP. HOWEVER, Samsung actually added a toggle somewhere in Settings that said "Allow OEM Unlock", which lets you flash things normally like before the update. It's just another layer of protection.

I see the Oem unlocking option in Developer options, when I enable it I get a pop up box if I tap turn on it doesn't do anything.. The funny thing is when I tap cancel it enables the option when I exit the developer options and then reopen it, the Oem unlocking option is unchecked. Any ideas?
Btw, can we downgrade from Dok2 to kitkat if this option is enabled?

Its Android L so I don't see why you couldn't run the adb OEM unlock command and see what happens.

I've just read that the Nexus Q did support unlocking. I guess that this might be a good sign. I just don't want to end up with another unrootable device like the Logitech Revue !!
nope. Why? cause Android L = Android Lockdown

So I'm guessing its not possible, but I didn't try, don't really want to.
But looks to me like in Lollipop you have to enable OEM unlock in the dev settings similar to enabling usb debug. Nexus Player doesn't have the option to enable OEM unlock in the dev settings.

Yes, it is easily unlocked. No root, yet, but the bootloader can indeed be unlocked.

Great, just need a root method before I buy this thing !
I have an ADT 1 and all works perfect. Even mine is rooted but still most apps don't work
Just received my replacement Moto Style from insurance company naturally I wanted to root it like my previous Style was.
OEM unlock has been activated
USB debugging has been activated
Adb works
fastboot works
Unlocking bootloader does not generate a token
I keep getting "remote signature verify fail"
No matter how many times I've tried it will not work get past this.
Stuck on 5.1.1 and it won't ota update to MM either as my device is upto date
Any ideas how I can get past this bootloader problem?

My kids have been clicking away on my phone and password entered too many times. Now it's locked.
I don't have a Samsung account so unable to use Find Phone and the Dr Fone everyone is recommending does not have the S7 on the dropdown menu. Only up to S6 Edge
Any suggestions?

You might have to factory reset your phone but that will erase all your data.

Thanks.
I know absolutely nothing about flashing ROM and Odin so not sure how to proceed. And nobody answered whether it works with Nougat.
Is this really the absolute only option for people who lock their phones?
Also, any idea why so many websites are recommending the Dr Fone toolkit specifically to unlock the S7e when the program does not support the S7e?

There he explain nicely
Read carefully, Download the necessary files, Do the steps one by one
I grabbed the package through Charles and found that it is likely to be an OEM lock verified by the interface

. If anyone has a rooted pixel 2xl, you can set the certificate of Charles as a system certificate and set this The interface is captured, and then a json that can be unlocked is constructed locally, and it may be unlocked
Care to elaborate? I don't think people really understand what you mean. So you want to "OEM unlock" a Verizon Pixel 2XL. How are you going to do that? I have personally tried the "uninstall phone app" method and was able to toggle the "OEM Unlock" but it's does nothing and reverted to 'disabled' when you enter the bootloader. There is only two ways to do this; Verizon themselves unlock the phone (which they said they wouldn't), or hacking into the device (which for some phone require hardware hack to work). Now you're saying you find another way? What have you discovered? What help do you need exactly?
@lishenghui trying to understand it, googled some words from your post, still didn't get it actually. Are you requesting some files from already rooted Pixel 2 XL users to unlock Pixel 2 XL Verizon?

You Cant The Verizon Pixel 2 XL Is Parma Locked Just Go On Amazon And Buy A Unlocked One
Here's A Link https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0799ZMY6D/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
According to Q & A from that link many are receiving the Verizon variant so not any help to get a rootable phone.....take your chances.
I am somewhat new to this but I can't find any solution to this problem from all the guides out there. I've had my s10+ snapdragon since may 2019, and only recently decided that I wanted to root my phone. The guides for rooting all have a instructions to enable usb debugging (done) and OEM unlocking. However there is no option in the developer settings to toggle OEM unlocking. Other guides say to turn back the system clock to june 2019 to have the OEM unlock option to reappear but when I restart, the date is turned bacl to the last update that I installed (august 2020) and no OEM unlocking toggle.
So it looks like they patched out the OEM unlocking by making it impossible to set the time before that security patch.
Is there another way to root? Or a way to bypass the need for this option? (Maybe im just not understanding how it works enough to proceed without OEM unlocking)
