I have had almost every Motorola Droid since the Original. I was so excited when they announced Motorola was getting this years Nexus. Last week when my Droid Turbo's glass broke again I was givinn the opportunity to have the Nexus. I jumped at it.. Now I'm thinking I made a mistake.. I actually miss all of moto's skin or Moto Blur . This naked android is a nightmare ! First off my Calendar no longer has a search feature( if it does I can't find it. Texting someone who've you've recently call is nearly impossible unless I enter the number manually, I'm forced to use the google camera and google photos. All these years I was lednto believe that the manufacturers skins were bad .. I'm thinking they aren't so bad after all...I'm hopping I can find some exposed mods to help me here I'm having a terrible time making the transition from my Droids to Vanilla android.
They each (AOSP vs manufacturer's skins) have their advantages. For me, I was sick of being many months behind on Android versions.
You'll be able to find lots of tweaks to help. You might also try Benzo or Chroma ROMs.
And I am someone that every non nexus I have had I put aosp on as soon as I could love me some vanilla

Search in Calendar is right in the top level menu, just above the first separator (Schedule...Day...3 Day...Week...Month....Search). Assuming you mean Google Calendar, which is stock.
Click on the contact image to bring up the contact, and the text icon is on the right. Click on the number to bring up a redial menu. Its not labeled or anything, but once you know its super easy.
Why are you forced to use Google's camera? It sucks. I use Snap Camera. Google photos sucks, too. Actually, all galleries suck compared to QuickPic. And I use SugarSync for backup because it copies the photos to a specific directory on my main PC.
And other than maybe the dialer, I used these same apps when I ran a TW ROM on my old S4. The more open API standards of Android generally allow you to use best in class apps no matter what OEM skin is in place. Also...dialers can be replaced, too. I just don't use them enough to care much.

You aren't actually experiencing problems, you're still in the learning phase. Once you have it figured out, you'll be good to go.
I actually like the Droid Turbo immensely. My issue with it was pretty much that it doesn't work on my carrier's network (UMTS/AWS). The international version "Moto Maxx" was very appealing, but hard to get your hands on and really not all that much support.
** I favor, slightly, the smaller screen + bigger battery.
The calendar search has been explained.
Text to a caller is easy; In your dialer RECENTS list, click on the CONTACT ICON at the LEFT SIDE of the log line, and then press the "messaging" button on the top-right of the drawer that pops up from the bottom of the screen. Bang, you're in Messaging and that contact is selected.
Not sure what problem you have with the google camera application, works pretty well for me.
But yeah, photos[+] is a horrid piece of spyware crap that deserves to burn in hell.
You can disable photos by dragging it from the launcher drawer to the top of the screen "info" and pressing "disable".
THEN you can install the proper AOSP gallery, which I've rigged up to install as an external apk;
https://github.com/lbdroid/Android-Binaries/blob/master/Gallery2.apk
OR if you prefer to compile it from source yourself to reassure yourself that I didn't add any spyware to it;
https://github.com/lbdroid/android_packages_apps_Gallery2
* note: compiling that requires NDK
Thank you for the links to a gallery app. I'm gonna trust you and use the first link.. You wouldn't want to spy on my pics unless you like hot blonds and camaros (my girlfriend and my car ). That is all I take pics of for the most part.

I concur with some other folks here, it sounds like you need Chroma. IMHO the best way to describe Chroma is a vanilla version of Android with all of the little niceties added back in.
IMO the google camera has been slightly faster at responding (focusing, snapping, opening, etc) since the update to 5.1 (I have used both stock 5.1 and now cleanrom). Before that I used open camera, and still like it for the features.

Annoying things samsung was lazy about in the release/build of the vibrant's software:
HTC Sense UI makes Samsung's touchwiz Interface seem like a fail sorta.
I'm being sincere and want to know if you guys agree or disagree with the below. I hope Samsung can address these issues with the Froyo release. This can make up for the cheap quality hardware build. I love the phone though. seriously. ok here we go:
Issues:
1. Switching from edge to 3g takes a lifetime
2. Slight lag in the standard software going from screen to screen (i shouldn't have to use a home replacement like adw or launcher pro for smooth scrolling)
3. The market is horribly slow to load and often says retry-connection error
4. When going into the photo gallery, old pics show first. (annoying because I have many pictures and have to go through them to get to the newest ones)
5. In the feeds and updates widget, someone may load a picture, u click on it and a tiny pic is shown (u can't *like* it or enlarge it) *Facebook action*
6. If you click on a contact, go to the media tab, let it load then click on an album, it takes you to the browser (why not fetch it within the app?)
7. When you reply to a twitter/Facebook/Myspace status update, it automatically refreshes the feed (i don't need another refresh if i didn't request it by pressing the refresh button) it should take you back to the feed
8. ACCOUNTS AND SYNC have been horrid. They work when it wants to. Always receive an error more often than not. facebook/twitter/myspace
9. Battery take 2 lifetimes to charge
I don't agree with the Sense UI making Touchwiz3 look like a fail, there are issues that it has within itself that others dislike. However, please be aware that Samsung is quite new to the game and is still developing.
The only problem I have in common with yours is the market issue which is pretty irritable.

1. Doesn't for me, and this is the first I'm hearing of that. Perhaps you are in an area with poor reception or have a defective device.
2. I have no lag at all. Are you running any intensive widgets? Live wallpapers? A million things running in the background?
3. Again, that's a sign of being in a poor reception area which isn't the phone's fault. If you haven't already, I would try activating and swapping out the SIM card out for a new one if you are using an older one from a previous phone. That has solved some people's problems.
4. There should be a setting to sort by date. If there isn't, *shrug*. There are other good picture viewing apps in the market. I find the Gallery app to be very helpful in sharing pictures though.
5. Facebook makes an official app. Same goes for Twitter and Myspace. Some specific social networking actions, such as "liking" can't be done with the widget or in the contacts menu. I find the widget is good for a quick updating of statuses or tweeting.
6. If it gets you to the same point, then? The browser is speedy enough on this phone that you shouldn't need to worry about using it as opposed to the built-in apps that take you there.
7. Again, there are tons of other software in the market to use if you wish to not use the ones provided.
8. This is the social networks fault, not the phones. Facebook sync in particular works when it wants to for me. But it's Facebook's fault. Something awry with their server connections. Twitter always syncs for me.
9. Mine takes 4-5 hours from dry to charge fully. That's the downfall of having a bigger battery, you get more usage out of it but it takes longer to charge. Make sure you are using the wall charger and not a USB port on your computer (USB charging any device takes a lifetime as USB ports don't draw a lot of power anyway). If possible, turn the device off as it charges. It will charge much quicker this way. Perhaps leave the device off overnight and charge it up?
These seem like general smartphone complaints and really not much to do with the Vibrant specifically. Most of these phones have the same general minor annoyances or glitches. Sense is OK, nothing special. It's all personal taste but after using Sense for a month and then TouchWiz for 2 weeks, I much prefer TW. The Launcher and the Samsung specific apps really integrate services, social features, and Android very nicely. If you don't like the Launcher you can always use the other two big ones in the market, they work just as well. You can also use any messaging app you wish.
The hardware feels light for a reason. The heavier the device is, the harder it falls when you drop it. If you've seen all of the quality tests of people dropping the phone, trying to scratch it, etc, you would see that the build quality is amazing. The metal-looking plastic on the rim will take the most damage. Screen is scratch-resistant, not scratch-proof.

Market issue and app lag in general is easy to fix. look up vibrant stalling thread, lag is due to how slow the storage is. By moving app storage to nand, you fix the issue, there are only a few side effects which most of us wont run into anyways.
I've had nexus one and ran desire rom with sense, I've had evo4g with sense, and older android phones with sense. I skipped Samsung phone, whatever it was called on Tmobile, the first Samsung android due to touch wiz. Hated it, was super slow, retarded looking, and buggy. When I heard about the vibrant, I was hesitant as I did not want touch wiz, I hated how it was in the past. Still got the phone, and wow.... I love it! I replaced launcher with adw because I Just like the way it looks more, but everything else is great. I actually prefer touch wiz to sense, it looks more modern, has some neat features.
Although, I do agree with you that it still does have issues, so does sense, specially espresso version of it on the slide. My girl has it, omg, I'd throw that phone out of the window... lol
My biggest issue with touch wiz now is the messaging. It lags, specially if you're texting several people at once. It also refuses to scroll up in the thread sometimes, just bounces back down. Despite it, I still love it, makes an already good looking OS, look better. I do prefer the visuals of touch wiz to sense, personal preference. Sense feels like a a fancy limo to me. Over the top classy visuals, with too much bloat, and overall is rather slow. Touch wiz is like a BMW, looks superb, just enough flare to make it look modern, still runs fast.
The lag in sense is mostly graphical, just feels choppy. My guess is that it is mostly related to devices themselves, as they are not as powerful as the vibrant. Like, oncrhe nexus one, 3d gallery loads just as fast, but animations feel a little choppy, on vibrant it is very smooth. And your issue with gallery, I think it is more android related and not touch wiz. Nexus is full stock and it uses same 3d gallery as the vibrant, it does the same thing when it comes to ordering.

To number 9 specifically. He's right about charging, I think its mostly done by Samsung to preserve the battery. Nexus one has 1400mah battery, I also threw a 1500mah right before I sold it. I noticed slow charging immediately on the vibrant, nexus one charged way faster. I'm used to it now though, I always leave it on the charger over night anyway. So, the issue is not with higher capacity battery, but Samsung improving the battery life, at least I think.
And op, android is not like apple, very open sourced. It is very easy to customize and there are a ton of replacement apps on the market which could help. Like launchers, very useful and don't even waste memory as default launcher gets disabled if you run an alternate one. Point is, nothing wrong with voicing opinions and hoping that Samsung will fix or improve things. But, That will take ages, and it is a long shot. Why discredit aftermarket apps? They do no harm and could really help You enjoy your phone more.

Its a shame you are comparing a hardware issue(iphone) with software issue that you are having. The iphone fails because it is hardware and there are pretty much no other options but to fix it with a case however with your phone you can install different apps. You can use other apps than stock, i keep Twitter installed due to the integration with TW however i use Twidroid im sorry Twidroyd for my day to day twitter client. This phone is far from flawless i would relate the lock/power button to the iphones reception problem however with ours there is no case fix. I think it was a poor oversight on Samsung's part to put the button on the side of a rounded housing at that!

This is a netowrk parameter setting. By increasing the time between scans your local T-mobile market is increasing your battery life and reducing the paging load on the network. Everytime you ping pong between 2G and 3G you have to do a location area update so the network knows where to find you. EVeryone doing that would overload the system and some calls would not be delivered. Aka, they are probably doing a good thing.

I can't speak for markets I don't work on, but from time to time corporate changes the recommended settings. There have been a few changes specifically to the 2G and 3G interaction lately. There are also different "release classes" of handsets and they don't always support the newest "features". So sometimes a parameter change only affects certain handsets and not others.
Hi XDA, longtime lurker, first time poster. Love the forum, thanks for taking my post...*laff*
I have had a smartphone back to when they weren't phones (Motorola PageWriter). I remember the bad old days of the Pocket PC phones, how good Blackberries were with email when they hit the market and a charter G1 owner.
I can say without hesitation that the Vibrant is the best smartphone I have ever owned.
My only qualm at this point is the whole phone/google contact thing in the TouchWiz contacts app, I hate that I can't set custom ring tones or use the "groups" function for Google contacts and can't sync the "phone" contacts...I hate that, with a passion.
Seems like Samsung is treating Google contacts like an LDAP server instead of the seamless integration I had with my G1.
Other than that, I really like TouchWiz.
I have been pining over this phone for months. The Anandtech review convinced me this would be my next phone. After having it for a day and a half, I just can't stop hating on it over every little thing though! I think I will end up returning it.
1) Boot-screen. I powered on the phone, and was instantly disappointed. Why was I already in this mind set when I had been dying for the phone to be mine for so long? The issue: A full white screen and a loud start up sound. Why would I want this? What if I am in a movie or a dark restaurant... I have turned off my phone to be polite, but in something comes up and I need to turn it on to shoot a quick text... why would I want it to blind me with full-brightness white and make a long, loud, annoying sound? Yes it is nit-picky, probably the most nit-picky of all of these, and they are all nit-picks, but it just goes to show how no thought is put in to anything (or rather marketing is put in far ahead of real user desires). It has me very depressed over the whole industry.
2) Photo-Upload. So I boot up, sign in, and am told to setup DropBox and have it save my pictures if I want the free 23GB that comes with the phone. I follow all its directions, then go shoot some Zoe's (a)! Within an hour of using the phone, I get a message from the DropBox app saying that phone-battery is too low to upload photos and that 512 photos remain.... WHAT? I come to find out that for each 3-second Zoe I take, it uploads 30 hi-res photos to DropBox, there by using up my storage, wasting my battery/bandwidth, and leaving a huge mess for me to clean up. Google+ Instant-Upload does the same thing. I can understand why this happens, but I cannot understand how HTC included DropBox and requested you to turn on the upload knowing it would do this. WTF!
3) Camera. The one thing I love about this phone is the ability to take a good photo in very low light. It is amazing compared to any other phone I have ever seen. The problem is, I also really loved the idea of Zoe, but you cannot do an HDR Zoe, and without HDR on this phones low-light photos are just as crappy as any other phone with HDR on (better that other phones with HDR off, but crappy is crappy, and only HTC One with HDR is non-crappy, which means Zoe is of no use to me... especially with the DropBox/G+ issue as well).
4) The menu [...] sucks. I thought it would be no big deal... I actually like the on-screen buttons of the Nexus 4 and others, but only a [...] taking up a huge portion of the bottom is so annoying. ExDialer is where it is the most annoying, as the bottom button NEEDS to be [Call], not [...]. I know I can root it and add back the shortcut, but
5) The Dialer. The first Sense 1.0 had the perfect dialer. ExDialer is a perfect clone of that dialer. When I open my dialer, I need to see a scrollable call-history with at least the 3 last calls above the #-pad, and then be able to type numbers or letters into the #-pad to FILTER the list of ordered-call-log above phonebook results. Seeing a single result and a next arrow is lame. Show me a scrollable list, hide the #-pad when I scroll it, with the #-pad visible, show at least the top 3 results (on this huge screen, ExDialer shows 5.5)
6) The Launcher. I'm so glad they put in an option to let me change the drawer from 3x4 to 4x4... not! Zeam Launcher show the dumb [...] on the bottom, so I am now using HoloHD and have my app-drawer configured to 7x8! Icons need to be the size of your finger, as they were on the first iPhone/Android. Now we have these much bigger hi-res screens and the same number of icons across the screen? That makes no "sense"!
7) Call-quality / Volume! During my first 40min call I was told I kept cutting in and out. We did the last 10min on speaker phone which he said sounded way better. I have not heard the same since then, so maybe I am already learning to hold the phone correctly. Being a left-hander doesn't help I'm sure. From my end I heard a lot of poping volume changes until I disabled Beats. Why on earth are the volume buttons on the right? I like to change it with my thumb, and I guess HTC thinks right-handers would too, but every phone I have ever had was opposite. Also I keep enabling speaker with my cheek during calls - probably a left-handed issue with the proximity sensor.
8) Charging. Man it take a long time, not just that, but while using navigation in the car-dock I keep getting a big white error box warning me that the phone is discharging quicker than the battery can be charged. WTF! I know that, most phones do that, no reason to interrupt my navigation with a giant error box and make me click ok to continue driving!!!
9) Build quality. I've seen about 5 of these now, and my DevEdition is the closest to perfect I have seen (smallest gap near power button, jack not too messed up... compared to the other 4), but it is still not as clean and nice to hold and use as my GF's Nexus 4. I have a beard and right now there is one tiny hair that some how got pinched between the glass and white part just above the SIM slot (not the SIM tray at all... where the white meats the glass). I just cut it as tweezers would not pull it out. Far from "seamless-design".
10) Google Wallet? Even on the DevEdition it is not compatible? WTF?
11) Google Voice as voice-mail won't work: "Failed to retrieve and save current forwarding number settings". I can manually change the number for "My Carrier" to my gv number, but I cannot change to "Google Voice". I have seen others post this issue with other phones too. I don't know if it is a long-lasting Sense bug or a GoogleVoice bug or what.
12) GMail (JB issue). I'm coming from Froyo. My old and new phones are both running the latest GMail but they look very different. JB is much improved and better in almost every way, but one thing that has repeatedly annoyed me is that in daylight I cannot distinguish between read/unread mail. On Froyo the grey is much darker and you can tell it from the white. Not possible by my eyes in daylight with JB GMail.
There are many more nit-picks bother me (gets hot, is heavy, no slideout keyboard), but this list are the important ones for me right now.
Sorry man...bu this is the silliest excuses I have ever heard in my whole life....it's your personal opinion and I respect that but it's my opinion too and you have to respect it...

Just wow ..... return it and be happy.
At least #2 and #8 should be MAJOR issues that affect EVERYONE who uses Zoe+InstantUpload and Navigation. They both completely baffle me as HTC included DropBox and TMo included a CarDock. ...do they test these things at all?
Bye

Everyone is welcome to their own opinion, of course, but a couple things in your post stuck out to me:

Annoyed by #2 and #4 as well. Any quickfix?
You could simply turn auto upload off. And as far as build quality, this is by far the most well-made phone I've ever used. I had a N4 and, to me at least, the One surpasses it in almost every level (the exception being timely updates.)
I love AOSP, but until Google releases a Nexus of this caliber, I doubt I will leave this device.

Lol. I wish. I'm a Google fan boy only. I've been recommending the HTC One over the S4 for months. I guess my hopes were just too high. I'm more disappointed in flagship smartphones and the industry-direction in general than specifically the One, which is a remarkable phone, but so much is not well thought through, and I expect the S4 to be the same.
That really sucks I feel bad that you cannot enjoy the One.
After being in the wireless industry since the dumbphone era I have to say this is the best mobile phone I have ever used.
I played with the S4 on Sunday and I still prefer the One.
It's amazing that we have so many decent choices now. Good luck with your next device!

Is this a joke? Some of these are silly.
1) Who just turns their phone off when they're out and about in 2013? Really? Plus, if you have it silenced, it won't play a boot sound.
4) Sorry, but if you see the [...] in an app, it's crap. Uninstall it. Find a good app by a dev who knows how to make Android apps.
5) Can't slide left one pane to see a list of call history? Also, when you start typing on the number pad, it filters your contacts. It only shows you the most likely match at first, but if you click the number of matches right below that it minimizes the number pad and shows you the complete list of matches. Works great.
6) When the app drawer is set to 4x5, I can see 24 icons including the icons on the dock. That's about the same as the 25 shown in stock Android on the Nexus 4. And again, anything that shows the [...] sucks. Zeam... facepalm. Try a decent launcher like Nova if you don't like the Sense launcher.
7) Call quality is great for me. Might be your provider. Solavei? What the?
8) Haven't seen the error you're talking about while plugged in and navigating. Did you cheap out on your car charger too?
9) My Nexus 4 creaks like your cheap car charger every time I hold it and always has lint stuck in its cracks. The One is better, end of story. You're the only person I've seen who thinks the Nexus 4 is better built than the One.
10) Google's fault. Not HTC's.
12) All modern Android phones use the same version of GMail. How can you fault HTC for this?

PM Sent. Dev for Nexus 4 trade, I'll include car dock. You include $$$?
EDIT - please keep to PM... this is not a buy/sell/trade thread.
If you really think the DIALER is ok, please just try using ExDialer or DialerOne (note: I do not recommend either as they have both switched to nag/trial-ware, I am still trying to find a replacment) for a day or two just to experience the difference it makes. To me it is night and day. As I said, the HTC Hero running Sense 1.0 had the perfect dialer (copied from the WinMo5 days)... other apps just copy that. I can't believe Samsung, iOS, Google/LG, and modern HTC don't do the dialer "right" (by my standards yes, but if you TRY it I think most people will agree).
Edit: Just turning off the instant upload sounds great and all, but thats the only way I have been getting pictures off of my phone since the G+ app was released (I prefer that to DropBox, and G+ was first to do it). HTC Zoe has a major drawback that you cannot use that feature properly (and they INCLUDE dropbox and suggest you to enable photo upload on first use!).
So I hate clutter and junk in my life. My moto is "if it hasn't been used in the last month then sell it or give it away"
So with my phone, if I don't use it or have no use for it is gone.
I can't recall how many pre installed apps I was able to uninstall but there were a few.
And here are the 26apps I've disabled. I don't expect any improvement in my device but if I notice any I let you know!

1. You really should try the google app. Cards work well once it's got a sense of what you're interested in. Weather alerts, sports team news, time to destination etc.
2. Fair enough, I guess you don't need to merge multiple calendars
3. Same as #2.
TBH, it sounds like you would have been better off with a Moto or Nexus phone (if you could have dealt with the size).

If OP like me is not English/american then the google app is (almost) useless. Plus disabling cards saves a lot of battery
Is there any way to change the default lockscreen camera?
With other android phones, when you install an alternative camera, the lock screen ask you which camera you want to use.
There are certainly many apps that need the "Disable" option.
i.e.: "Smart Apps" main app. (I'm hiding it with ADB but it's just a workaround...).

Your right I would love to have got a nexus pure android but they are just too big! If only they made the 6P with a 4.8" screen and 3000mha battery I'd be all over it like a rash.
That being said, with the apps uninstallled and disabled on the z5-compact it's the perfect phone.

Canadian here, but fair point on the usefulness of cards elsewhere.
Having said that, one of the reasons to have a smartphone is because it's a mobile computer. Being able to have it do things automatically is kinda the point. I'm willing to "sacrifice" having to charge once a day for the added utility. And yes, I think the screen on time bragging is silly.
Thanks, I've been trying to figure out what I can disable
I agree completely with the OP. I disagree with the high end phone statement. 720 screen and 2gb ram, not to mention its made of plastic. It is decidedly mid range. But the high end camera+size+expandable storage makes it a no brainer for £400. Imo
I think i have around 30+ bloaty apps disabled.
Disabling/uninstalling the bloaty apps just hides them from the interface doesnt it? They are still there in the ROM taking up space.
I do agree there are way too many of them. I also have a nexus pure android but as mentioned, it is too big to be a keeper for me.
PS Woza72 thats a great guide you put together of suggested things to kill. Gunna copy most of it.
I don't think phone size makes a high end phone. There's no requirement that high end needs to be a phablet. I don't think 720 is an issue since the phone display is smaller, it should go by ppi which is on par with the latest iphone. I do agree, 2gb ram, plastic does bring it down a notch. As for the camera, that's still up in the air. I suspect the hardware is high-end but the software is low-end. It is at least on the upper end of a mid-range.
On a handset of this size, anything over 720 would not have made much difference unless you hold the thing two inches from your face. There is a ppi sweet spot and i think the Z5C is right on it.

Sony Bloatware: A - E
Account Manager
Active Clip
Album
Ar effect
Ar Mask
Automatic optimisation

Should I go on?
I doubt most people see Album, Calculator, Calender,Clocks,Email as bloatware. Kind of a dumb phone if you take those away. I guess the concept of bloatware is rather subjective then

I got the priv and it's my third day using it and man do I miss my s5, most importantly TOUCHWIZ. I had Samsung since 2010 so it's so weird to me. But my s5 was getting really laggy and slow. I'm kinda regretting the priv because I miss switching batterys, I hate being connected to an outlet and I miss having root. Would the priv be able to get root at least? I wanted something new but this is not my cup of tea. If there's no root then I'll just end getting the note 4 with removable battery and SD slot.

I am also hoping there is a non tethered root method discovered for the Priv. I think there might be but I know it will be difficult. Many well known devs have already commented even before the Priv that root access will become more difficult with MM.
Just curious but what exactly are you missing about touchwiz? I have a several Samsung devices & one of the first things I like to do is rip touchwiz out & either leave functions disabled or replace it with an alternative solution. I just never liked the cost of lag that running pure stock left you with.
If you let us know specifically what your missing we may be able to offer 3rd party solutions you might actually find superior to what you get with touchwiz.
I like the weather and clock all in one and how everything is more simple. This BlackBerry android is really complicated and boring. I never really liked stock Android, Nexus and so on.

The simple maybe a bit harder. Samsung really did dumb things down on their devices. (apple of Android)

Yeah that's true, I can't believe all these apps on here on my PRIV are like all downloaded from the Google Play. They really got into te agreement that they were using android on their phone.

Not sure what you're trying to communicate here but I especially love the fact that BlackBerry is actively trying to bring the best they have in smartphone tech to the Android platform.
I don't find it complicated at all. In fact I find out exactly the opposite. The shortcuts they add to the launcher & keyboard alone have saved me tremendous amounts of time. I admit I send allot of emails & text messages but I actually like to work on my phone [emoji1]
I think you hit it in the spot when you pointed out that you never really liked stock Android which is not really a BlackBerry thing. Sure they could have done more to customize the interface like Samsung did with Touchwiz but until the Note 5 came out I really hated how slow & laggy Touchwiz made my past Samsung phones. It made my a Note 4 upgrade to lollipop so slow I had to wipe the phone & go back to kitkat.
I'd also recommend getting Chronos widgets from the Playstore. They have a great time, date, calendar combo widget.
Don't get me wrong because I think the Priv is far from perfect. I would have really preferred the following items
* removable battery
* fingerprint scanner
* DTek software that could actually block application permissions so that I have total control over my personal info
* more control over the launcher functions like the bottom screen gestures
* more control over the edge screen options & functionality
* more control over the productivity tools
* Developer Edition Priv hardware with unlocked bootloader & root access so XDA can help fix the things preventing the Priv from being the must-have smartphone device it can be!
* the rest of the missing BB7.1 & BB10 missing features & gestures [emoji1]

Nvm youre right, Im starting to get used to this phone but theres alot of stuff I have questions for. Do you know where the screen shots go because I can not find them on photos. I just really wish the phone had a removable battery and it wouldve been perfect but oh well I just ordered a Auckey portable charger and Auckey fast charger and Ima see how that goes. Also is there any way to leave the back, home and clear apps always up instead of it dissapearing?
I feel like this phone is going to be one good ass phone for awhile either way.

You can view screenshots through Photos. Click on the three lines at the top left and then you can change the view to device files. You'll then see your screenshots.
I don't think you can set the home and back buttons to always on which is probably a good thing the next time you go watch a video or some other action that might have those in your view.

Not sure what you mean here. Mine stays up unless I am in an app that does full screen mode like YouTube or the Gallery in full screen picture mode.

And even if you're in an app that's full screen, if you swipe up/in from the bottom of the device, the buttons appear again for use.

So far, it's a great improvement on all fronts, of particular note, the issue with multiple keypresses on the PKB has been resolved, so now I can truly touch type again at speed without fear.

I don't know of a way to do exactly what you're looking for but what I have done as a work around is use an app called All in One Gestures to setup gestures that I use to initiate a Home, Back, Last App navigations by swiping the edges & corners of the screen

Ah, I wasn't directing my comment at you, it was for the original person you responded to. It's a native Android function since... I think kitkat to do the swipe in from the bottom edge of the screen to bring up the softkeys whenever you're in fullscreen modes.
Hi Guys, I've just bought a 6T....12 Hrs ago.
I love it, it gave me a real Wow switching it on.
There's just 3 things niggling me.
1. One speaker? Really? One Speaker?
2. The Clock and Weather Widgets, I can't get them lined up on the screen, also the trademark Red digit is not incorporated into the clock widget and both the weather and clock widgets show the date....!!! So side by side they not only don't align they repeat the same data and don't match.
3. Can't hide apps....would be nice to hide a load of stock apps I will never use.
Apart from those 3 gripes, the phone is amazing.
I absolutely love it and am very, very glad to be part of the OnePlus community.

Let me tell you what I've learned since I have gotten mine. I'm not sure about the clock and weather widget. But at far as the single speaker, this phone doesn't need 2. This summer l speaker is loud. And you can hide apps by creating a Locker. I'm not sure yet how to do that but you can Google that, that's where I read about it.

Thanks...yeah I hear you about the speaker but when you are watching a movie all the audio is in on one side....I mean come on it's mono and that went out in the 1960's!!!!
My first oneplus aswell ?. Another tip in hiding apps is that you can store them in the hidden section of your stock launcher. You can do that by swiping up to get to your apps and if you gently Swype from the left corner to the right it brings up the hidden section. One the speaker in with you most times than not I tend to cover it by accident while watching YouTube etc

You can hide apps, open the app drawer, swipe left, you can hide them in there.
Btw there's a dual speaker mod in the app section.

Oh Wow, thanks guys that's a real secret!! Excellent.
I did see the dual speaker mod but I need to be rooted and I'm still debating whether it's worth it or not. I don't want to make my phone buggy and slow and I'm sick of cloak root and stuff like that....

Fair enough, it's a great phone stock as well, I just rooted to mess around, plus I like the international rom more since I'm on the t-mobile variant.

Yeah I haven't rooted yet. Just got my bootloader unlock token today. I think I'm going to wait for the dev of some ROMs to catch up a little. To me this phone is perfect as is.
By the way in my earlier statement about the speaker, replace the word summer with single. I got auto corrected.

Even the phone itself tells you how to hide apps in its default launcher, it pops up just after you open app drawer...

It is amazing, so clean and fast. I've had no stalls, apps download and install in seconds without causing any clitching.
I can have a dark theme on an amoled screen which looks awesome. I think it's brilliant. I've got the international version because I'm UK. I might well root but now I can hide the apps it would only be to sort out the speaker...but that's in the future....I'm more than happy for the time being now knowing I can hide the bloatware.

So do you know why my stock clock widget doesn't have the red digits? Is there an APK somewhere on XDA that can sort it?

I completely agree with the OP regarding the feeling when using this phone. I had been a long time htc fan but after TMobile stopped carrying it, I was lost because the os experience was severely lacking from the other manufacturers. I'm on jump on demand and I tried fiddling around with lg and Samsung for a little bit but just want satisfied. Finally made the switch to iPhone and was happy for 2 years with apple, however after apple pulled the stunt of increasing prices for subpar upgrade to the iPhone this year, left a bad taste in my mouth and when I saw TMobile will carry the one plus, I decided to jump and give it a shot. It's been a long time since I had the feeling of having the perfect phone and this is coming from someone who tends to change phones every 3 to 4 months due to the freedom provided by JOD. I will be keeping this until the next upgrade from one plus comes out. Plus I got lucky as one of the reps sim unlocked my phone even though I met none of their criteria for unlock in the spirit of Thanksgiving holiday! So a pleasant bonus and now currently waiting for bootloader unlock code for root. The only reason I want to root is due to completely and utterly blocking ads from everything including apps. That is one thing I miss from apple. A lot less ads on the device compared to Android, however that should be resolved soon. This stock os is perfect otherwise! Amazing battery life, extremely fast charging, and buttery smooth! What else can one ask for!

Yep, that's the weather widget it's great and has the red digit.
But there is no clock with the red digit.
There is however a setting for the red digit clock for the lockscreen...so somewhere in the phone is a red digit clock widget!!!

Advertisement wise you can use Edge browser with AdBlocker extension. It helps a lot.
I still haven't had one glitch or stall!!!

Hey look at the widgets I've found...
The red digit is only the 1. Anytime a 1 shows in the temperature or time, it's red.
