Am not so impressed since last night on standby and 75% battery i woke up and ot was 51%

My battery life has always been very good even with heavy usage. When i got the update notification i was at 66% at 3pm. immediately after the update i was at 33% and it was downhill from there very quickly. my phone shut of at 9pm. how has it been for you guys?
Mine seems to be holding up okay so far.
If I recall correctly, the update took my battery from ~35% down to like 20%.
I updated via odin today(everything went smoothly). as with any update or mod i have done the battery always takes a big hit. i suspect its because the processor is working hard and draining the battery. other than that i haven't noticed any excessive battery drain yet. i will report back after a couple days of use though.

i m posting this as i noticed big difference since yesterday on my battery drainage.
I recently updated through Odin on JPX and noticed that the battery was going empty too fast.An average consumption over night when i fell asleep was 30-40%,but yesterday night i decided to "Horizontally calibrate" my screen.A while later i fell asleep with battery on 75% ,expecting to find some 30-40% in the morning i saw it on 72% instead.
I havent applied any custom room,roots or fixes yet,its the stock JPX updated from JPU.
It would be great if some users do this step,and report if they have seen some difference or if its just a coinsidence.

Am I the only one who is facing battery drains since I updated the phone with the August patch? I mean, the battery life used to be awesome before, while now I barely reach 3/4 hours of screen on time... I can actually see the % dropping faster than before.
Should I try a factory reset? I never did it since I bought the phone on April...
Yes. I thought it was just me. I had Media Server chewing battery in the first day but now that seems to have called down and it jays not add good now.
I have the G935F and just received the August security patch about four days ago. I haven't observed that the battery is draining faster than prior to the patch.
I also have G935F and am having a lot of battery drainage after the August update. I don't know what to do!! Anybody got any ideas?
In regards to MediaServer.
If your using Google chrome then this can be a bug associated with it.
I disabled Chrome and started to use the Samsung Browser and up to now that's stopped MediaServer which was using approximately 24% of my battery according to the Stats. (Fingers crossed)
Or try Chrome Dev.

I have a A5 2016 (A510F) that has been under Android 7.0 for a while. A few days ago, it prompted me to do an update. I didn't check what it did, and installed it ; the version number is now "NRD90M.A510FXXU4CQL7".
After the update, the battery was dropping alarmingly fast, literaly 1% per minute while the screen was on.
I "re-calibrated" the battery by letting it drop to 10% and charging it back to 100%. Since then it's better, but I feel that it hasn't gotten up to its previous battery life. Before the update I remember using my phone normally for about 2 days without charging it, but yesterday it has dropped from 100 to 0% in one day for the first time ever, without my usage changing.
So my questions are :
- is it normal, has anyone else encountered the same problem ?
- can the battery life climb back up ?
- is the update responsible for the battery life drop, or am I imagining it ?
- if it is because of the update, is it possible to revert the firmware to a previous version ? I have found downloadables at "samsung-firmware.org", is it safe to grab them there ?

The last two days I hardly used my phone and the battery was down to 18% at 1pm Sunday and down to 18% at 3pm today. Hardly even unlocked the screen today. I haven't installed any new apps. just updates. Anyone else having issues? Must be a bad app update. Usually my phone makes it to 1am before going to 18% on typical days where I'm not using my phone much.
Update: I just remembered the Verizon Security and Privacy app came on wanting me to let it run so i did. that must be why my battery is draining fast. i took it off the charger this morning and it was already at 87% in 30mins.
