Restore your backed up EFS folder .

Download the stock firmware from Sammobile and use Odin to flash it. Make sure you turn phone OFF before starting in Download mode.
Note there are other ways but you will need to search and read. This one is the basic method...

Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 (GT-I9500).
Yesterday, i flash the custom rom (XWUBMG5 V1.9 by Wanam). After this, i can't call or send message, i have an error message "Not register in the Network" in a black background.
I test another custom rom (Omega V11) and finaly test a official samsung rom (XWUBMG5), but the problem stay here :s.
I also change my simcard for a new one, but the same problem...
Now i don't know what to do, my phone is dead ?

Do you see your IMEI number if you type *#06#?
Did you backup your EFS folder? It may have gotten corrupted somehow.
Yes i see it, it starts by "0049.....". It's strange, because my IMEI number in the galaxy S4 box aren't the same. In the box, the IMEI number start by "357....".
For my EFS folder, i don't have a backup :s

Oh dear, your phone has had it. You have a corrupt IMEI number.
This recently happened to my Galaxy S3 (IMEI also changed to 0049...) and after days of various members of XDA trying to help there is NOTHING you can do to fix it if you haven't backed up your EFS folder.
Go back to stock and send it off for repair. Mine is back at Samsung as we speak
Lesson learnt - ALWAYS backup your EFS folder!!!

what is efs anyway where can i find it.? my phone is stock i9500 not rooted imei not changed. still getting this error can anybody help the sim is working fine on other phones
i am a samsung reseller....
i got note 3 live demo unit phone.....
there is no imei in the phone....
it showing unknown imei
i root my phone.....and cheaked the ef folder and radio folder.....
the data/radio folder have no file and in efs/imei only one file and there is no nv_data.bin in system
i backup my efs folder using efsbackup app....it created backupimei folder in sdcard and there is two files efs.img n modem.bin
i registetered new imei for note 3...
i want to write it in this phone...
plz tell me how can i write imei in this phone....
i cheaked for z3x box but now there is no support for note 3 in z3x box....

Gona try it when i arrive home.
My hope is not lost.
Wierd thing is i instaled the stock SM-n9005 rom from my country and it wokred a week later tested on another live demo and he made it turn it on and after a couple of minutes, when searching for wifi networks he just crash and restart.

How did u get demo phone in your hands?, was it stolen? i work in a phone shop and there is no way to get them unless you are official retailer plus they dont meant to be connected to cellular network....
IMEI alteration is illegal in most places and not allowed to be discussed in the forums.

so, i tried to flash another FW but still same ..
also tried to flash latest Modem and BB fixed but IMEI still (/01) ..
so, i went to EFS_Professional app and wrote IMEI from the back to phone ..
now phone has IMEI but Emergency Calls Only ..
IMEI CERT: PASS
what should i do .. ??
also, i have SPT and Z3X boxes and i can write Super IMEI with SPT or write CERT file with Z3X ..
but i don't want to change the IMEI .. i want to restore it's original IMEI.

1- Try re-flashing full stock firmware for your device via Odin. To obtain the correct firmware, use Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app > Menu > 'Firmware Browser'.
2- If that doesn't help, try this post.

unfortunately, no backups ..
but as i said, my problem now with the network not the IMEI .. !!
and i also tried to flash QCN backup from another working phone but still same problem.

after many tries and wasting too much time .. i decided to use Super IMEI method using SPT box ..
so, now i have a fully working Note 3 with Super IMEI.

Super IMEI is an unlock method for new models which can't be unlocked by default methods cause it has a new security which boxes can't bypass ..
To unlock your phone ( ex: Note 3 ) you have to wipe EFS first then there is a list with a lot of IMEIs for every phone .. So, you can choose one of them to write to your phone .. Now it's unlocked.
But you can't write back your original IMEI.
So, i used this method for that phone and it fixed the problem.

my s4 i9500 when i downgraded to 4.4.2 from 5.0.1 it lost its IMEI. when i tried to install new kernel then it can not register on network.

Flash back to the latest stock rom and check imei.
flashed stock rom
4.2.2 ime unknow---signal no services
4.3 imei generic---signal emergency call only
4.4.2 imei generic---signal emergency call only
5.0.1 imei unknow---signal no services

yes, but the same problem when restore EFS
I assume the phone has the correct imei before downgrading?
If restoring EFS didn't work, you may have to take it to a repair shop to have the imei injected into the phone.
