Just for giggles shall we put down all release dates that you have heard for the hero
I know of:
3rd July - Orig
20th July - expansys
21st July - king of gadgets
29th July - Play.com
15th August - Amazon.co.uk

Orange upgrades, called them 15th July....

Expansys email confirming will be first week in August, 1st/2nd. Received today

What abuuuuut T-mobile? I've heard other people on here (one actually working for them) saying 17th or 20th.....

Well, all the Swedish stores just say that they don't have any release date or that the phone is not in store yet.
So I've actually not seen a releasedate except the initial 15th of july.

a guy at king of gadgets told me expansys were ordering from HTC europe and that they had stock from HTC UK, and that was why the dates were different!

dutch shops and carriers:
Hi / KPN giving it an expected release of July 22th (was 8, then 14, then 18, then 20).
Pdashop.nl saying the unlocked can be delivered from July 24th onwards.
centralpoint.nl saying 7th of august.
Other webshops saying 'in stock within two weeks'.
So I have no idea, I hope somewhere next week .

Expansys have never ever got a release date right, they are just a hype train thats successful in making you preorder and keep waiting. i usually just wait until it says its in stock then just go over and pay cash at the expansys depot (1hr drive) lol

Well expansys UK still say release today, expansys Sweden say the 31th of July...
And I need this phone now..

You even can not rely on expansys when they write they have it on stock - on friday, the 3rd of July, their web page said, they have 100 on stock (at least on their Hong Kong page). I already ordered on July the 1st. But, like all others, did not receive until now.

I'm in the same boat. I wonder if the bluetooth promotional code worked.
Oh and Wirefly matched Amazon's $200 price for new customers. If anyone is considering cancelling your amazon order and switching. Also double check Wirefly to make sure they still have inventory first.

Bad news for anyone who has ordered through amazon...They have changed their delivery date from 18th Apr to 1st June.....I'm glad I cancelled my order this morning and went with comet....should be coming Thurs.

I don't understand why there is such a long delay. They( Asus) will lose a lot of sales as there will be the Acer and the Galaxy 10.1 competing in June and who knows what else....HTC, LG

Yep....I did and got the discount although others have said they couldn't - may be a regional thing.
They still have them available online...next day delivery !

It could be that as they are coming off the production line they are being distributed to suppliers, so they have not stock-piled for a big on-mass release ?

Don't know tbh it was just a thought, maybe Asus are distributing to Comet first as they have physical stores that people can see a demo model.

Ebuyer`s dates have gone back too: April 22nd for the tablet on its own and the 19th MAY for the dock bundle, which I had pre-ordered. On the off chance I gave Carphone warehouse a call this lunch time to ask on delivery times for the tablet. I was told if I ordered before 4pm it would be delivered tomorrow. Placed order immediately and cancelled my Ebuyer preorder. I`ll take Asus up on their offer to order the dock direct from them

I remember when I was waiting for my Kindle they kept changing the date on the info page but the date on my order never changed - which was when i got it.
I never read too much into Amazons estimated dates tbh.

Just cancelled my order and ordered via carphonewarehouse.. still in stock.. and delivered on thursday..... will as many others order the dock once it arrives !

Hopefully the order date is the one that matters. If not I'm going to have to take this as a message from God. Nobody wants to sell me a Honeycomb tablet, time to get an iPad.

I have the eee pad transformer & k/board bundle on order with amazon since 4th April for an 18th April dispatch. When I saw the date change to 1st June was going to cancel, but managed to get a customer service number for amazon uk
Rang them & they told me that there was enough eeepads & k/board bundles in there fulfilement centre to despatch April 18th for everyone that pre-ordered before April 11th. If you pre-ordered after that date you dont get the bundle until june 1.
Bottom line is if your estimated dispatch date hasn't changed & is still showing April 18th on your order then you made the cut!!

please explain to me how doing ATT NEXT 12, or ATT NEXT 18 is a better deal than getting a 2 years contract.

nope. i just did a sample/fake shipping on fedex.com, for Saturday delivery, have to pay extra for it.
dont think att will be paying extra for saturday delivery.
2 days air delivery on Saturday 51.57$
2 days air delivery on Monday 34.29$
i sure att have discount on shipping but it still cost more to delivery on Saturday

That sucks. I frequently get deliveries from fedex (don't pay anything extra for it) on Saturdays but I guess it is different with the 2 day delivery service vs home delivery service.

Because......... When you want two of them...... There is very little upfront cost. I think of it as a lease with option to buy. When I get two, towards the end I sell them off, pay for the remainder, and get to keep one of them for a hand me down for my son. It all works out in my benefit. It's a little tricky to explain but trust me, it's worth it.

i have a question about pre-order with att.com.
when is my "upgrade eligibility" get updated? when they shipped out my phone or after i received the phone?
let say Att ship my Edge on Thur, i'll be getting it on Monday. Fedex wont delivery on Saturday with 2days air unless you pay extra.
can i still go to store and buy the Edge on friday using "upgrade eligibility"? or is that too late already since att updated my upgrade status and make me ineligible to upgrade for another 2 years?
if i able to get Edge in store on friday, i going to return the one i pre-ordered on att.com.

2nd business day shipping, the package will be at your local fedex distribution center on Saturday, you might be able to call them and have them hold it and you pick it up, but you will get in Monday for sure, pre ordered the note 4 and and they did the same thing.

It doesn't stay fedex. It's starts out fedex and then it switches to USPS. USPS delivers on Saturday. Therefore you will get it

I have also and I have aalso delivered them. I'm a mail carrier. Most of the phones I've delivered have started of FEDEX. maybe it just depends on there load. It can come either way

a few things to note on my last 3 pre-orders (GS3, iPhone4, & GS4):
1. Pending charges on credit cards may or may not be a good indicator of whether or not the phone will ship on time. Currently my flip case charge was pending on my card since yesterday but not my phone. Two of my last pre-orders from AT&T didn't have charges show up until a few days after I received my phones.
2. No need to pay for expedited next day shipping. Many people paid extra thinking it would be faster. All 3 of my pre-orders were shipped Next Day even though I selected 2-day and I received all 3 on the day AT&T said they would start selling them.
3. Many folks stated their order statuses never changed or never got shipping info but they received their phones on time.
So if all things remain the same, I'm hopeful from past experience that those that preordered, will get our phones tomorrow but I'll still have my fingers crossed.

My order status is Pending Confirmation. Dunno what that means.

Mine says shipping USPS but it doesn't have a tracking number or expected date of delivery yet

OK I just got a shipping through Fedex notice but it says part of my order was shipped and anything backordered will be shipped as soon as it's made available. The problem is it doesn't tell me what is shipped and what isn't!! My phone better not be backordered as I ordered right after it became available around midnight of Nov 7th!

At&t taking preorders on the 12th

For all those are interested At&t is taking preorders on the 12th. So there is another chance to buy it on Wednesday. I talked to a Google rep and he said he had a feeling it was launching tomorrow since carriers will be selling it on the 12th. I was thinking also because the embargo lifts tomorrow. So anyone who didn't want to buy it outright they have a chance to get it on AT&T through the next program, 249 with a contract, or 689 off contract if you want to do that lol.
