Greetings,
I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy S4 (SGH-I337) that reboots every time I try to uninstall/delete system apps. The device is running stock lollipop and I have been able to remove system apps before under this ROM. The problem arose after I re-flashed the ROM to resolve an MMS issue. Both Titanium Backup and ES File Explorer fail to remove the apps and just reboot the device. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and apologies if this has already been posted elsewhere.

I lost my rooted Note 2 and got an S4 with UCUAMF3 installed already. I did however make a backup of my SD card with all apps and data I pulled from Titanium. My question is if it is possible to restore all of my apps and data without root from the backup I have? I tried manually moving things using Root Explorer but of course I could not get R/W access... Hoping there's another way or I will just have to wait it out until hopefully a new root is released.
Thanks in advance!
Hello everyone!
Im not new to xda forums, but I'm new as a user, so I am really sorry if I'm writing in the wrong section.
I live in Hungary and I have a GT-I9505 unlocked by default device.
Yesterday i went ahead and rooted my phone using Towelroot to keep KNOX untrigered. Oh btw i was running android ver. 4.4.2.
I rooted my phone without any problems, and KNOX was still 0x0, installed busybox and xposed framework.
I installed GS5 launcher and apps, and to get MyMagazine working i had to replace some files in /system/framework named
twframework-res.apk
and
twframework.jar
I did those without any problems. I wanted to restore my S4 to its original look, so i started putting back the original files, both in system/framework and in system/priv-app
While i was deleting thos two framework files, I accidentaly pressed the home button, so the changes took affect, and i got a lot of FC windows, making me unable to use my phone to get back those files.
I have a backup of those files, on my SD card, i just cant put them back because of those force close windows.
I tried wiping cache and data in recovery mode (stock, no CWM or such) but that didn't help either, and now i have the galaxy setup process+the FC windows.
Is there anyway to make my phone working correctly again?
Really sorry for the long text and any mistakes, it's 2am here and I'm really tired and I'm just trying to get my phone back to normal.
I ended up reflashing an official samsung firmware with Odin, and now my problem's gone.
Hey guys, today, I was following a guide where there were all the bloatwares I can safely remove. I uninstalled them, but when I restarted, and I did wipe partition cache accidentally. As I restarted it, it stuck on Samsung flashing logo without booting up. I'm sure I probably erased some important elements so before I proceed again crying I want you to tell me:
How to safely disable KNOX
All the bloatwares that can be safely removed from my Galaxy running Kitkat 4.4.2
How to optimize my phone in developer options (I tweaked some settings there so I suspect that this may have screwed up my phone)
If you've ever had a related experience, just let me know what was the cause and how you've managed to fix it
Thanks in advance
Is there a way that someone could upload a zip of the stock system apps for the ATT galaxy s4? I uninstalled some of them without backing them up in Titanium and now the OTA updates won't work without them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I’m by no means an expert, but I’ve always been tech savvy or at least been able to research and follow directions for things I’d like to do on my devices. I flashed my rom using Odin to fix the bootloop, but I still need a way to successfully move the app to system apps without getting stuck in a bootloop. Here is what I have done or attempted so far:
1. I have a Galaxy Tab 4. I recently rooted this device using Kingo Root.
2. After I rooted the device I confirmed I had root access and everything seemed ok. I have used this app before to root other devices with no problem. I wanted to root this device so I could move Fake GPS Location Spoofer to the system apps folder and make it a system app.
3. I used lucky patcher to move the app to the system apps folder. However when it went to reboot my device, my device became stuck in a bootloop. After trying to repair the os, I successfully used Odin to flash my rom (android 5.1.1) and fix the problem.
4. After attempting to move the app with other file folder systems with root access, I still can’t move this app without it resulting in a bootloop.
What am I missing or doing wrong? Any suggestions, solutions, or insight would be welcome. If you need additional information or detail, just let me know. Thanks!
Update: After some more testing I believe that the rooting with Kingo Root is the problem and not the attempts at moving the app to system app. I flashed the 5.1.1 Rom with Odin then proceeded to to reroot the device with KIngo Root. Once I did that and it showed as successful. I restarted my device and I got the bootloop problem. I've tried rooting the device SM-T330NU using the method in the general section of the samsung tab 4 forum but was not able to boot into recovery and got a different bootloop problem that would go black and then blink repeatedly. I made sure to use the download for the 8.0 so I'm not sure what is going wrong.
Suggestions?
Update 2: I managed to finally root my device with the CF method. I am still not sure why the other methods I used didn't work.
