Connext your phone to a computer and copy all content on the 4 gig to your computer then turn the phone off. On your computer format the 32 gig card to fat32, then copy everything that was on the 4gig that should now be somewhere on your computer wherw you copied it on to the 32 gig, replace the 4 gig with the 32 gig in the phone and turn your phone on, should be good.

I thought folders have special restrictions. I have upgraded SD card from 4 GB to 32 GB
Steps I did :
1. Removed card from Phone and inserted in in Laptop
2. Copied all files to Temp Folder from Old sd Card
3. Plugged in 32 GB card copied from Temp Folder to new card
4. removed card and inserted in Phone
5. Tested it out and it works

all i did when i upgraded is select everything on the old card and create a folder for those files and copied it, then i got the new card and i just copied the files in the folders and it should be pretty easy

SD Card Space

Hi
I have a 16gb sd card.
I only have 4gb of music on it
But it says I only have 600mgbs left
How can I see what is taking up all the space on my card
Plug you phone into your computer and mount as external storge, then use your computer to look at what files are on your sd card and what size they are. There are also file explorer apps like astro, just long press a file and look at its detail, it will tell you its size.

I checked all the folders and they definately do not add up to 16gb.
Just wondering where all my memory is at
So decided to copy the entire contents of the sd card onto a folder on my desktop
When I did this it said the entire content was 4.11gb

Copy the files to a folder on your computer, then reformat the sdcard to FAT32, then transfer the files back onto the sdcard and see if that helps.

Does your phone report the SD card as 16GB? Also, do you have lots of apps installed to the SD? I don't believe these will show up when you are just copying files from the mounted SD.
Also, are you running Sense? I don't know much about this since I run CM6, but doesn't the HTC Locations program store all of its maps on the SD card (presumably also hidden)? Not sure how much space this would take up as well...
Copy the files off of the card and format it then move the files back. Make sure there aren't any unnecessary partitions or anything either.

Where did you get your SD card from? Do you know for fact (using it on other phones, etc.) that its really a 16 GB card, and not a counterfeit?
What is the phone reading the SD card total space as? My 16GB card is reading as 14.82 GB total space.
Fake 16 Gig card.

There is a thread in the Accessories section and tells how to check if the card is fake. The thread will have 16 Gig sdcard and where to get them. Sorry but I think you got a fake.

[HELP] 16GB memory card automatically deletes files!!

Please guys help me to fix my 16GB memory that always deletes files(some files) inside my memory card.
Everytime I try to format using HP formatter it says 'device is protected'.
Please post some advice to make it work again. I still believe there's a solution.
Thanks in advance!

I dont see anything wrong with the title.
I can format the sd using any other tool except to HP formatter.
And yes everytime i transfer my files from 4GB memory card, after removing from the computer the contains of 16GB are not equally the same as to my 4GB sd. For example i copied my titanium(folder) back up from 4GB and transfer it to 16GB the folder becomes empty when.try restoring. Even my music files are automatically deleted after placing the 16GB to my phone. Thats the situation.
But the other files remain inside.

Welcome aboard matey, Mine came with a 16gb sd card but I have a 32GB class 10 card in my Play.
Highly recommended, the faster speed seemed to have sped up my games also as they were getting a bit jittery when I had the stock 16gb class 4 sdcard in my phone.
If you have a Mac, you can try Carbon Copy Cloner, it's free and it's awesome for cloning an entire disk (or SD card, in this case) to another one. I used it when I got a new SD card for my Play
I also use it to backup my SD card to an image file on my computer every week. Yay!

Go into your SD through windows, select all, copy to a folder. Put in the new card, select all, copy the contents over. Done.
thanks guys...

If the file manager really does a MOVE it is supposed to be like a sec. But some file managers do a COPY and then delete the old stuff. 5 minutes in that COPY scenario is not the worst speed possible, but is nothing to write home about.

Sorry I forgot to mention that I was on PC. I was using PC file Explorer to move files on this SD card when the phone connect to PC

Try using a card reader and plugging directly into pc instead.

That explains a lot - over MTP move IS implemented as copy+delete.

[Q] Move apps & files from full 64 GB microSD card to 128 GB card without corruption?

[Q] Move apps & files from full 64 GB microSD card to 128 GB card without corruption?
I filled up my 64 GB card with apps and files and so want to move to a 128 GB card. However, I've seen many cases of files being corrupt or cards being unreadable/unmountable after using a (Windows) PC for the transfer. What's the proper route to do it for the S5 without those problems?

you need to back up everything on your 64gb sd to your pc then before you put the 128gb card in your pc put it in your phone and format the card so you know its working on your device then after that put your 128gb micro sd into your pc and copy all the files over that you had backed up from your 64gb memory card, and know this works because ive done it.
