hi guys, when I use a custom ringtone, the ring seems to be cascading. for example, it starts off quietly then randomly blasts the sound full volume. I haven't touched any settings and my ringtones are all standard .mp3 files cropped with ringdroid. when I use the pre-installed ringtones it doesn't do this but it vibrates first and then rings. any tips? thanks.
It's called ascending ringtone... normal stock galaxy behavior. Most custom roms disable it or have the option to disable it. I dont think there is a stock setting to turn it off though cant remember for sure and dint have time to check.

In order to rid yourself of this, the only solution I have found thus far is the app "Disable Increasing Ring."

Hi all!
Does anybody know a way to disable the Power button from waking up the screen? I only want ta use to Home button for that.
I know that some cm and aokp roms has a function for this.
I'm currently on a slightly modified stock 4.3 rom.

I think Wanam Xposed has that feature.

As a mod or an answer described how to do it?
I want to be able to do it on my stock rom, if it's possible.
It's easy to disable home button waking up the screen but I just can't figure out to do the same with the power button...

It's a module that can be installed with the Xposed Framework.
There's a lot of real neat settings on there, I would recommend you use it.
It will allow you to keep stock but have some extra features you may want. (4 way reboot, call recording, etc.) without modifying / flashing other stuff.
Keep in mind you have to have root, though.

Looks like a fun way to customize roms. I will try it!

Did a quick search but couldn't find a definite answer, so does anyone know if the Xposed framework is compatible with stock rooted G2? It's the Sprint ZVA variant, deodexed. I'd really like to customize this phone a lot more but to be honest I'm really not too impressed with many of the custom roms because I've found a nagging bug in just about every rom I've tried. Stock seems to work best and provide solid battery life, call quality, etc so I'd prefer to stick with that, and customize the hell out of it.
Edit: tested, works great on stock with G2 Xposed. I am even able to install CM themes on stock with HK Theme Manager.

Thanks. I'm using stock 4.2.2 rooted. I just thought I'd ask before experimenting. I'm a bit leery of accidentally sending a phone into a boot loop that has a sealed in battery. (Though I hear volume up+ power will reset it, which is handy)

Hi all, I'm just wondering if it's the kernel that is actually causing this enforcing problem ? And if it is how hard will it be to modify one just to add this function. There is an app and a few lines of text entered into terminal to switch the mode that I've come across but unfortunately neither method works on the S5! For those that don't know what I'm talking about its when you go on settings > about device, then scroll to the bottom.
The main reason why myself and many other users need this is that we've found out it's what causes the touch function to not work when using screen mirroring via app radio pioneer head units (arunchained). I have already seen a lot of reports on the actual arunchained thread about people advising others not to buy the s5 or even any other samsung phone solely because of knox and the SElinux problem so it seems a shame that it doesn't work.
I think many people will benefit from being able to get this working!
Cheers

Oh wow don't know how I missed that. I don't really want to go down the custom rom route already as not sure they would be 100% bug free or even work properly with arunchained but noticed that that one has a separate kernel so I might just give that a go on it's own with the stock rom. If no luck I probably will just flash a custom rom and see if it all works.
Do you know if the camera is just as good as stock with that rom? That's always been my main concern with them but it's been a good couple of years since I've even switched from stock roms other then rooting and recovery.
Thanks a lot!

I get a -505 error when installing ROM Toolbox in the 12/5 release. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a workaround?
Thanks.

Pro or lite normally just a reboot will let you download
is someone already on the 12/8 build? >is it working fine?...am on 5/12 so far the only issue is the sms failure message,..and i was having a hard time getting tether to work but thanks to "JhoonB51" in some earlier posts, finally got it to work. I did the SQlite Editor fix, if anyone is having trouble getting tether working just download SQlite Editor "got to be rooted" then go
/data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db then enter the database "global" then change the value of field "tether_dun_required" to 0, if is not there just make a new one., name it tether_dun_required, value 0......reboot the phone and done
it worked for me!
I tried the 12/8 and still had sms error notifications. I revereted back to 4.2. My bigger concern is the miscellaneous battery drain. I seem to still have that even after removing nfcnci with System App Remover.

Roaming Issue
I have heard one or two people post about CM12 automatic roam setting reverting to Home Only. I have had that problem but not just on this ROM. I was wondering if very many phones are having the problem since it does not seem to be mentioned very often.
The miscellaneous battery drain has disappeared for me. The NFC shouldn't be causing it any more. If you don't use NFC, just disable it in Settings. I think there might be a wakelock from Bluetooth. You may want to try turning that off and see if it helps -- assuming you use it.

I have the roaming revert to Home Only, and have yet to roam on this ROM. It is definitely a known issue.

Thanks! I thought I was going nuts.
bluetooth is still a little buggy with the latest 12/09 post. moto 360 fails to connect and bluetooth still messes with wifi.
SMS issues with hangouts, just want to verify that those that have it are changing hangouts to the default SMS app. My case is a little different and works fine as I'm using google voice integration with Sprint, so I'm not actually using the app, though i did get the message failure until i changed the default SMS app to hangouts.
Confirmed error when using hangouts as default sms app with my Sprint cell number. I believe but cannot confirm 100% that I did not have the problem using hangouts not set as default using my G Voice number.

Ignore my post wrong thread.
Hello, is there a changelog for today's build? 12/10, this rom is my daily driver am following every single update,..thanks
Same for me I'm following every single update and flashing it, i would like to know for when estimated we will be received a version of lollipop with customization options like aopk roms? Like dpi changer, themes etc!?
Thank you for all the work done for this model!! Which in my opinion still has a lot to offer!!

You can look at the merged CM commits here or the open (pending) ones here. If you look at the main ROM page, you'll see the cutoff of CM's GitHub for my most recent build, so you can see what patches/features have been included in it. You can also see what cherry picked patches I am including -- those are almost entirely for better device support.
There is still a bit of work to do to get a stable base for CM12, but I'm sure after that there will be a lot more features.

Home Button doesn't wake device
I recently flashed the latest version of your ROM, but I can no longer use the home button to wake the device. Is there any way to fix this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Voicemail
I know this sounds stupid but I no longer seem to have the voicemail app. How do you access voicemails? I don't even get a notification.
I found the stock Sprint VVM APK in another thread.
this rom s awesome. as soon as the sms bug is fixed this will be my daily driver. great job
