LG G3 F400S/L/K Owners Thread - G3 General

Hello to All
I am creating this thread because I can't find a thread on XDA dedicated to G3's Korean version F400S/L/K and I think it's worth having a dedicated thread.
Here are some goals I would like us to achieve on this thread
1 Gather information about the Customs ROMs/Kernel/MODs for F400 variant scattered around on XDA or any other forum like Lgviet etc.
2 Share your experience with the ROMs you tried on F400.
3 Try to find out a stable ROM for F400 by sharing your experience.
4. Share you experience with different experiments you did on your F400 e.g trying a ROM not intended for Korean G3.
etc etc etc
Please go on and share your thoughts

I have personally used these ROMs on F400L
Cloudy 2.2
CM 12 and CM 12.1
Resurrection Remix LP
BlissPop 2.0 and 3.2
In my experience I found Blisspop have most customization options in particular the capability to change screen dpi. On other AOSP based the font appears to be too small for me.
Another noticeable thing is that you have the option to change animation level to .75 which I think is not available in other custom ROMKs.
About performance, this ROM runs very smooth because default animation scale is set to .75.
ROM has awesome stand by battery timing but currently I'm only getting 3 to 3.5 hours of screen on time.

I had a small Question/Doubt
I recently purchased LG G3 F400K from ebay in India.
Was wondering if i can install the stock D855 (International Version) Stock ROM on this?
[NOOB Question] What could i gain/loose possibly?
Also, How can i make the Korean fonts at some places to appear in english/ How can i make the ROM appear FULLY in english (everything in Eng)?
Thanks in advance.

i have F400s version ....
i am on cloudyg3 2.2 for now ...
i tried blisspop, cm12 , Resurrection remix ...
and all working v.good for me ...
.....
in recent weeks i tried dualboot patcher ... and i installed AOSP rom beside my primary rom (cloudyg3) ... and it was very good ...
be careful with flashing any rom that is not listed for out korean version (self opinion) ...
if you have a question ask me ...
.....
but ...
i have a question : how can i reach recovery mode without app nor ADB ... ( like using vol. down + power key in D855 versions ) ??

I will recommend you to use cloudy ROM. It will solve all the problems you are having with Korean stuff and this ROM is based on stock G3 ROM.
But before doing this you have to root your G3.
If you try to flash D855 ROM on your Korean model you will end up probably with no signal, Wifi and Bluetooth will not work. You can even end up soft bricking your device.

Quick Question,
Since i am new with G3 (Although I have Xperia Z1 Compact and Nexus 6), I searched for the Root methods and got surprised to see so many. Could you please provide me the link to the rooting method which worked for you guys for F400K.
Also, For updating to Cloudy G3 2.2, is it ok to root on kitkat rom (stock which came out of the box), install TWRP, take full backup and then install?
Or should i install Stock Korean Lollipop firmware first? (If yes, request you to please point me to that as well, sorry for being demanding though)

To enter recovery mode, you have to press vol.down + powerkey. When the LG logo appears, quickly press vol.down + vol.up. Before you do, make sure the power is shutdown completely (by remove battery). And note that you need to do very quick it very quick. I often success in one third of time.

I use this for rooting: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-lg-firmwares-kitkat-lollipop-t3056951
And yes, you can upgrade straight from kitkat rom. Btw, I'm not responsible if you brick your device or your girl friend broke up with you because you destroy her phone.

Thanks a lot . That made my life a lot easier.
Another thing i had in mind is, can we use system.img from the D855 (International version) and mix with "Radio.img and boot.img" of our F400K version's, so that it is completely stock and it boots up fine with Radios also working well?

Theoretically it seems correct but this won't work.
You will still face problems with Radio.
I tried the same with AOSP rom but it didn't work

If we've spent so much, we can try, u never know - maybe its worth the try
But, for that, what files will we need and from where? And how do we de-compile/re-compile

it is wooooooooooooork thanX br0 ^_^
@2e6

Hi.
I've had the g3 for about 2 weeks now and I'm loving every bit of it. I've had a few questions regarding mine.
My device is F400s running v20f (lollipop) and I've been thinking of flashing cloudyG3 on it. The procedure would be this right,
1. Backup internal storage
2. Flash .tot of v10e (KitKat)
3. Root it using purpledrake
4. Flash twrp
5. Flash cloudyG3
Now what I don't know is, how do I flash twrp and how to enter recovery mode? By pressing power+vol down button nothing happens.
Thank you.
PS: sorry for being a noob. Never used an lg device before.

1- you can flash TWRP using twrp manager app (you must be have root)
2-if you want to get in recovery mode press vol. down + power key till you see LG logo then press ((((vol down+ vol. up))) " but use this step after intalling TWRP ...
note : you can root your mobile using 'towelroot.apk" good and easy one
if you have any other question just ask

NEWBIE @ LG G2 : starting... from what rom...

Hi all,
as u perhaps already know, after almost 3 years with my beloved LG 2X, I bought the LG G2 D802 32 GB last week
Now... I've installed the LG Drivers onto my Win 8.1... I've rooted the phone and installed TWRP recovery.
It's time to flash my first custom rom on the new little monster
But what rom ? I've seen that some roms are sized 1 GB while others... 200 MB ( as almost all roms of my other android' based devices ). Obvioulsy I've looking for a 4.4.2 rom. From what rom it's better to begin ? Actually, what's most stable 4.4.2 rom ?
Thx in advance

It depends upon your choice either Stock or AOSP based.
Start with PA4.1 or CyanoGenMOD 11.

As I can remember, for example, for my 2X... I held the stock original rom for first 4 days Then only cyanogen, paranoid, pacman, kang etc etc rom, I think all cyano's based I've always thought the cyanogen with reduced sizes rather than stock may be slim, lite and fastest than stock... My opinion, my hope.
PS If I use hot reboot or a similar app to reboot into recovery, no problem. TWRP starts, I'm able to backup the system, etc. If I use the vol - & power on button, no way to enter into TWRP

1. Power off the phone.
2. Hold Vol Down + Power button
3. When LG logo flashes leave power button and hold it again (Don't leave volume down button)
4. You will reach to Hard Reset menu press power button twice
5. Instead of hard resetting you will be moved to TWRP/CWM.

PA 4.1
Nameless rom
cyanogenmod 11
slimkat (but i had an overheating issue)
First, you have to decide between AOSP exeprience or LG Android experience. I tried several AOSP ROM-s cuz KK but went always back to the modified stock ROM's. Why?
a) QuickWindow.
b) There are some LG Apps I like (QuickRemote, SplitView tec)
c) I use my G2 with my corporate exchange mail account and have never used a better email application than the LGEmail before. I can set out of office replies from the application.
d) Not a big deal but I really like the weather animation on my lockscreen.
e) I cannot live without the horizontal quick settings and became frustrated on the classical quick settings on any AOSP ROM (even if there are some 3rd party solutions).
My personal recommendation: do not play with 4.4.2 (LG) ROM-s, try CloudyFlex 1.4 - very nice and stable. As long as there is no official update from LG for open phones and no custom recovery on KK and no Xposed 2.5 I won't switch to 4.4.2.
However, everything is matter of personal taste. Try and decide yourself.

Let me reply :
a) QuickWindow : the possibility of reduce the size of an app, like in windows OS ? Not so usefull, for my usage...
b) There are some LG Apps I like (QuickRemote, SplitView tec) : quick remote is wonderful, I've found the porting of this app for any kind of roms... I've to test it.
c) I use my G2 with my corporate exchange mail account and have never used a better email application than the LGEmail before. I can set out of office replies from the application : I use aqua mail
d) Not a big deal but I really like the weather animation on my lockscreen : not so usefull, for my usage...
e) I cannot live without the horizontal quick settings and became frustrated on the classical quick settings on any AOSP ROM (even if there are some 3rd party solutions) : ya, it's true, really nice
Thx u man
PS I've read that with stock kitkat, there's no way to make usable CWM / TWRP recovery... :-o It's true ?!

with stock KK you will lose custom recovery
Before to attempt to flash my first rom ( PA ), I've read some topics about to recover a bricked phone...
Not very nice to read 32 GB that become 16 GB
There's a guide / help / how to, in order to avoid ANY problem ? Or a guide to recover the phone with correct rom version ( I've a G2 D802 32 GB Italian ) ?

I've ran into these issues whilst not paying attention to what I was doing but have recovered from them all, so its pretty safe, if you want to run stock KitKat there will be custom recovery very soon probably in the next few days as well as fixes for the bugs in aosp as KitKat kernel source has been released, I'm currently running Dirty Unicorn and love it

[Q][L5 II] Touchscreen not working after flashing ROMs

I have an L5 II E615(f) rooted. Last 2 days I tried to flash another rom for the first time.
So, I got latest CWM installed using ROM Manager and tried to flash this ROM:
[L5][E610/E612/E617][ROM][KOT49H][4.4.2][BETA 2] Pure AOSP KITKAT 4.4.2
Followed all the instructions properly, I put the ROM in external SD card, did factory reset, and wiped all caches, then flash the ROM and GApps. After the reboot, I got inside the new ROM but my touchscreen isn't working at all, but the volume and power button works.
Tried this ROM too (I entered the recovery mode by taking the battery off and put it back on, pressed power+volume down > and pressed 'back' button) [L5][E610/E612/E617][ROM][KTU84P][4.4.4][BETA 9.4] Unofficial CyanogenMod 11 Build , still not working. So I thought it's because the ROM doesn't support E615 ([L5][E610/E612/E617]) So I tried to install other ROMs:
[L5][ROM][4.4.4][AOSP] Vanir weeklies, Fast and smooth
[L5/L7][4.4.4][KTU84P][FINAL]Unofficial Paranoid Android 4.4 rom build by Cr3pT
They don't mention the exact type of the phone, but none are working still. Now I'm stuck with the first ROM forever in the lockscreen LOL. I'm pretty sure I followed the instructions properly.
Where's the problem? is it the ROM or another things? Or maybe can you suggest me some ROMs that might work with my device? I really want 4.4.x ROMs though Your helps are all appreciated. Thank you very much!!
Tried to flash
[L5][L7][UNOFFICIAL]SlimKat[OPTIMA TEAM][4.4.4] and CM 10 for E610
still same problem, touch screen not working. Someone please tell me what ROM should i use :crying:
You have installed a L5 E610/E612 ROM on L5 E615 which is dual sim?
Try a ROM meant for E615, like BhekBhek and check if touch works there..
Also, do you have sim card inserted? Because for me, despite having E612, touch didn't work without sim..

Yes, I installed the ROM, only touchscreen not working. Those ROMs for E615 still have 'ugly' animation I think I'll use it temporary because my phone's been disabled for the last 2 days haha.
And yeah, I had my sim card inserted.

Replacing some files might help too..
Use porting guide by Caliban (in general section) (Guide is for porting from P700 to E610) .. There there will be some files listed, replace those files with a ROM designed for E615.. Hopefully should work..
Battery will be (most probably) pathetic though, you need a E615 kernel ..

That would be really cool, I can't find the guide though, and if it's really complicated I won't be able to do that because I'm still a beginner haha. Maybe I should wait for another months for someone to do it. For now I'll try this one
Looks cool, too bad it's discontinued. Wanted to try BhekBhek but the download link is broken (or is it me?). I'm really obsessed of KitKat's UI though :silly:
Another Topic
Another thing, does anyone know how to hide SIM 2 icon and/or tint them to white? Because they look ugly when I'm using Tinted Status Bar, thanks.
Here this is the guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428797
Let me know the result
Replace the files mentioned there with the ones from a E615
Hopefully should work, good luck!

Data issue. H changes to G on wake
My problem is that whenever I wake my device, the data H symbol changes to a G 2-3 secs later. Browsing or using apps that require data is impossible and may take 5-10 mins + to display anything.
Network shows unknown.
> I've tried changing several basebands - currently back on XXUFNC4.
> Tried *#*#4636#*#* and setting data there
> Preferred Network Type in mobile networks is set to LTE preferred/3G.
> Set /data/property/presist.radio.eons.enabled to 'true'. Recommended on another forum for a LTE issue but tried all the same.
> Tried reflashing stock firmware and redoing root, recovery etc
> I have an unlimited data plan on U.K EE network
My phone is a new GTi9505 and came with stock 4.4.2 XXUFNC4, with a new sim card that gives ok data on another handset.
I'm currently using 4.4.4 Gpe with MIUI v6 experience launcher and data is fine but I 'only' have this issue with MIUI v5 4.x.xx Multilang [CM Base 4.4.4 M9], and yes this is the only firmware I would like to use and get along with.
Cannot post on the forum that provides this Rom due to post count, so if anyone can help i'd be extremely greatful.
Thanks

I don't have LTE from ee just standard unlimited 3g ( on my current Gpe rom it shows hc-dspa+ ). In all honesty your Rom is awesome so really want to get back to using that. Ive tried all your builds and the one and only issue is on wake H turns to G and data is terrible.

good afternoon
Sorry, could not find these settings, Could explain again to me step by step please.
Finally wanted to flash my phone after 1 year.
Would like to know how should I get my phone to be updated to "latest firmware"?
This is because I root at 4.2.2, which is totally out of date.
Also how different is flashing this ROM against the HTC Desire days back when it was Froyo and Gingerbread?
I used to play around MIUI during then and flash almost weekly for their updates, but there are too many different terms now so I just wanted to make sure.
Thanks.

Flash latest firmware from sammobile. Com and http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/checker/ and flash with Odin , in regards to the flashing procedure it is the same. custom Recovery's have not changed much since 2010 only difference is there are now 3 options cwm, twrp and philz recovery.
I use twrp as it is still in development while cwm and philz are classed as finished.

Doesn't latest firmware comes with Knox?
Anyway, I've tried flashing to MIUI.EU without updating the firmware. It seems I cannot get my WiFi to work even after flashing the recommended Kernels. Do you think firmware/baseband is the issue?
I'm now running on PAC ROM and that too has issue with mobile data preferred network not sticking, it changes itself even after I set it with #*#*4636*#*#. Sometimes when I'm in an area without LTE, the mobile data goes off when my phone goes to sleep.
I googled and some said after 4.4.4 many had this problem, but seen none complaining in the PAC rom thread. Possibly firmware as well?
Thanks.

[Help] Root the LG D802 along with stable ROM suggestions

Yo guys, so it's been a long time since i've been on the rooting scene and i guess im back but i realised there's no android sdk as it's Android Studio. is it exactly the same in terms of giving me the fastboot and ADB files?
Also, back to the main topic of this.
I have an LG G2 D802 which is running 4.4.2 Kitkat and on software version D80220c-AME-XX
Links to any root guides would be useful, for now i'm trying this guide and i'll let you know how it goes.
As for the ROM, i know there's no 'best' ROM but i want one that's on the latest Android OS (I guess the latest stable for this phone would be LP) and is Stable. I really just want to flash a custom ROM once and keep using that without having to keep updating it.
Hoping for some quick replies.
Cheers!
What i did was that i first upgraded to stock lollipop by downloading the kdz and then rooted by the oneclick tool by avicohh then custom recovery by autorec and then flaahed cloudyG2 3.3

Hmm, im reluctant to update to Lollipop as i need the LG software installed on the laptop and etc.
I found this thread for IO Root http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=48709232&postcount=869 (Latest one i found so far)
I'll give this a try first because for my variant it says "ALL"
Also, in terms of stability, how is CloudyG2?

Bootloop ;-;
https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...overy-teamwin-recovery-project-3-0-2-t3356616
Following the guide, flashing TWRP and installing the supersu caused my phone to go into a bootloop which I managed to remedy by going into recovery and installing the j3 lite ROM found on page 100 of the thread.
I would think to avoid bootloop, avoid installing the supersu provided in the guide. Flash TWRP, pull battery, boot to recovery, install custom ROM, wipe catch.

I am uploading a stock ROM with only 480mb: v wait
I own this device , i have it rooted and TWRP.
People don't know the power of this device and it's chipset. Mine's J320m (brazil) 1.5 RAM but with 8gb internal memory.
TouchWiz UI sucks so much , i've had to install more than 20 xposed modules to make it go cleaner to look and use
also installed Pixl Launcher, HEBF Optimizer , Greenify , L Speed , Wanam Xposed , Xinternal
We need a custom rom , even CM13 or even CM12 for god's sake
Samsung blocks everything , so i think we need a new firmware at first.

But finally at reboot received the message:
kernel ist not seandroid enforcing.
It was not a problem to reinstall my backup with TWRP.
Surely I could try the otherone what was made for SM-J320M, but for this evening it wars enought stress. I hope also that there ist somebody who is so kind to work on a custom rom for J320F. It is very popular in Europe.

the big problem is the kernel , each variation needs a different kernel
what we really need is a pure and stock cyanogen version , with a ****ing clean 6.0 android , so we could use SD as internal memory
So... No j320f custom rom?...

We could try porting from j210f same chipset and same specs
LineageOS for SM-j320f (Duos)
It would be great if it worked! I am available as a Betatester.

The BootLoop is caused by installing TWRP's SuperSu. Make sure you put your own SuperSu file on the android device.
you do have brazalian version thats the qualcomm processor but we are here getting issues with spreadtrum processor (J320F)
