So I'm new to the android world and today I stupidly decided to root my phone. I used Odin3 and I think put in the Tmobile version into the AP place. After that, I realized my phone was unlocked and Odin failed to root my phone. Now I'm stuck at the message "firmware upgrade encountered an issue. please select recovery mode in kies and try again." I read other posts about this problem but there are none for the note 3. Can someone help me and link me files to get out of that screen? I have no idea if its because I have an unlocked phone. Thanks for everyones help. I tried sammobile but I cannot locate my product code. Like I have no idea where my phone is made from because it's unlocked. PLLEASSSE HELP ME!!!! :crying:
Please? just a comment on what to do could help!!! Thanks

Install Kies (v3). Go in Kies to recovery mode. Post more details after that if you want more answers.
The much better alternative would have been if you knew your original firmware - that way you could have downloaded it from a place like
http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=SM-N9005
and try to write it in Odin.
So i found out my firmware is N900XXUCMK2 but I dont know what country its from! help!

I also faced this issue. Don't be too worried.
Just download the latest firmware for your country and flash it from ODIN.
Or you can follow this link
http://androidcentral.us/2013/09/how-to-fix-firmware-upgrade-encountered-an-issue-on-kies/
and use Kies to get out of the mess.
I did brick my device and was trying to find stock firmware to return to stock via odin, but couldnt find it. Finally i got it from sammobile after so many attempts. I thought some of you are looking it too. So i uploaded it to google drive and here is link.
Flash it via Odin. Its 4.0.4 so after you odin you have to update it.

Yes. To flash via odin you need download mode not recovery. I was also not able to enter on recovery but was able to enter download mode.

Here it is . For firmware use one from my link.

Hi, my tablet Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 N8013 is also bricked, I mean when I try to start it, it just shows the Samsung logo and then it turns off, then again the Samsung logo, and that happens always.
I followed all the steps of the link you gave with your 8013 firmware (I loaded it on the AP option) and it showed me the ''Pass'' message but after the reboot, it just shows me the ''Samsung'' logo with his ''blue'' thing flashing and then nothing happens.
What I have to do now?? I'm very sad about all of this... I did the recovery thing before that but it didn't work as well.
Thanks
EDIT: I was really desperate, but I think the final step was putting the ''recovery mode'' (Turn on/off button + volume up) and then doing the ''factory reset''.
It's solved for me... Really appreciate your help Bik
You rock man!!!

I was just about to put one of my n8013 tabs up cause I needed to go back to stock to fix screen rotation, and there is no way I will spend money at a site to basically buy something they got for free. One was so scary that it didnt even have https. I'll stick this on AFH in a bit and edit this with link. That way when google eventually shuts yours down, users can still get a safe and reliable copy of firmware for their device. Thanks again, and I certainly pushed that button for you
FYI: For users, this is 4.0.4 ICS, yeah thats old school. It works fine though, and corrected my screen rotation issue. It was probably a file in lib, but fixed now, and this is for the WiFi version of the GT-N8013. Im going to add some Custom ROM in the directory where you can download this firmware also. I have CM 10.1 thru CM 12 and Hyperdrive i believe, so enjoy and let me know if it helps you. Also have pa.gapps for most versions.

In 2019, when this tablet is almost 10 years old, I'm super thankful. The download link STILL works, although it flashed through ODIN with PASS, it didn't seem to fix my stuck logo issue.
I was stuck in a bootloop and this stock firmware fixed it. This is the only place I could find the stock firmware. Updato.com has a download cap of 80kpbs and i dont think sammobile is any better. Plus, all the links in the pins and 99% of the link in this forum to this stock firmware are broken. This link should be pinned IMO.
I'm going to bump this. This should be pinned as one of the only working downloads for stock firmware which is super handy to fix commonly bricked galaxy notes. Hopefully some poor soul won't spend hours going through hundreds of broken links to get to this one, like I had to.
as the username suggests, I am a noob at this and I have a GT-N8013EAYXAR thats been broken for a few years now... welll comes CoVID and WFH and I have some time to try to ressurect this old ToDo project... So far seems like this stock ROM image mentioned here is what I need to start with, but none of the links work ...
So if some one still has the image can you please upload it some place?
sammobile.com samsung-updates
and many others for firmware
are there updated instructions anywhere? I'm stuck in reboot hell. I can get to downloader mode. I tried flashing the stick image, and odin said passed, and on the tablet itself I saw the bar get bigger and bigger, but when that finishes and it should boot to system, it goes back to reboot hell.

I posted in here like 6 years ago and solved this issue, but now the tablet seems to have randomly bricked again and now I can't find a link for the GT N8013 stock firmware... The one I found is "KIES_HOME_N8013UEUCOI1_N8013XARCOI1_813049_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5" but it seems a little fishy.
The link on Sammobile is locked so I can't download it.

Ok that's the same one I had, so I guess it's the official one. Anyway I flashed the stock rom with Odin, but I still can't access Recovery Mode. TeamWin logo appears briefly and then the tablet goes back to the bootloop.
I have Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SCL22 from au japan.
I have unlocked it before using service mode (*#0011#) when it was on Kitkat 4.4.2.
But after I updated it on Lollipop 5.0 I cannot unlock it using service mode because there is no menu anymore it is just end.
Is there any other code or way to access service mode.
Any other way to sim unlock my phone? THANKS!
Same problem here
Any solution pls
SCL22 on Lollipop
Same problem here, cant access the Service Menu and Can't use any sim in the Philippines.
Please somebody help us.
Probably found a solution in a Japanese forum. Though I haven't understand it fully (with google translate), but it can be something like this.
Do not upgrade the firmware from your phone (If you already did, then you can re-install it again with following procedure).
Instead download the official SCL22 Lollipop firmware from sammobile.com or somewhere else in your PC.
Extract the firmware and add "ServiceModeApp_RIL.apk" in /system/app/ directory. Probably we need to google a bit on how to rebuild a firmware. A starting point can be http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2138885
Then install the firmware using Odin.
After installation, follow the unlock instruction for Kitkat 4.3, which I think you know already. They are also available in the Japanese forum too.
http://www.neko.ne.jp/~freewing/android/au_scl22_galaxy_note3_sim_unlock/
Note: The ServiceModeApp_RIL.apk download link is given in the Japanese forum. Or I think it can be extracted from the Kitkat 4.3 firmware files too. Once I followed this post (http://allthec.blogspot.com/2014/11/how-to-root-samsung-galaxy-note-3-scl22.html) to root my SCL22 Kitkat 4.4.2 which is specific to SCL22 only and very easy to follow, this should work for Lollipop 5.0 too, if you are interested to root your device. But rooting the device will not unlock the phone.
I haven't tried it in my phone yet. Can any of you try it and let us know how it goes. Hopefully it will work!
Awesome
Thanks tutul.net, I will try that out.
And the translation is terrible so I'll try with the little japanese I can read:
First Method:
・Using odin flash SCL22KDU2FNF7
・Unlock using the SCL22KDU2FNF7 method
・Dont upgrade past SCL22KDU2FNF7
Second Method:
・Using Odin only flash the SCL22KDU2FNF7 modem
・Extract the old version of the ServiceModeApp_RIL.apk and overwrite the new one (/system/app/ServiceModeApp_RIL.apk)
・Using the Service menu, *#0011#, unlock with the old method
Now that I actually wrote all that out, looks like you were spot on. Thanks again!
I have had a note.3 as a paper weight for about a year now, maybe your advice will finally let me use it.
Also it was kind of biatch to get that apk, so I reupped it somewhere else for convenience hope it helps someone: ServiceModeApp_RL.zip
I'm having trouble with this and it's getting me really frustrated... did you eventually get it to work?
can you just flash the modem? isn't the modem supposed to be .bin file?
if you were able to successfully rebuild the rom with the fix, it would help me greatly if you can upload it somewhere
any help is appreciated
Did anyone manage to do this?
Basically you need a Linux base PC to rebuild a tar.md5

ive already done it and its working..
Hi! I've been searching all over the internet for any way to do this, until I got to the point in which I'm not sure it's even possible.
So I finally decided to ask here.
Is there any way I can flash a stock G900F firmware (more specifically, one of the ILO's versions since I live in Israel) on my SM-G900P?
During my search I've come across pit files, csc codes, firmwares, adb and whatnot. I can't make any sense out of it any more.
I've searched this entire post and found nothing that works for me.
I have tried every method that I could, but it just won't cut it.
Every time when I try to flash the European PIT file or the general G900F PIT file or the ILO (android 5.0) stock firmware, I get a security check error.
When it's the rom, I get security check: aboot. When it's the PIT file I'm trying to flash I get security check: PIT.
Some say you can't flash G900x roms on a G900y phone. Some say you can. I'm very confused, I have no idea what to do, and my
stock G900P firmware is giving me some issues (let alone not being in my native language).
My sister bought this phone for me, and it had an Hebrew option, but it was running a firmware far from a stock one.
It also had many problems and bugs and freezes, so I changed the firmware to match the model. Can anyone help me, please??
Hi
For your S5 G900P model there is already 6.0.1 rom download the firmware and install it through ODIN
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-G900P/
download any country S5 G900P 6.0.1 firmware it will work
Dont try to install other variants firmware to yours it might brick your device

My problem is the default G900P firmware. Even on the latest PVPU3CPCA
running Marshmallow 6.0.1, the phone itself ignores calls sometimes and notifactions.
Yesterday I got a call without my phone ringing at all. It didn't show there was an unanswered call.
I get disconnections and many other problems, even with the default firmware.
This is why I ask if I can change my default firmware, or just give up on my phone.
Note: I've managed to install 5.0.1 Lollipop default firmware (BOK4) and install Cyanogenmod 12 for my model. It is working but the call ignores and disconnections and the notifcations ignores still persist. Should I just give up and sell my phone?

Try other country firmware, there may be bugs that came by default with your country firmware
Try to clean install firmware by going to recovery and clear cache and data
No you can't flash stock firmware for a different model S5
Thanks for the reply. I guess I'll flash my stock G900P Marshmallow firmware.
I will however, change my mobile network supplier, and report here the results.
It could be a compatibility issue with Samsung.

I have used TWRP to factory reset and reset data. Afterwards I flashed a stock
G900P (lollipop, I believe) firmware which I got from Sammobile.
Then my device updated to G900PVPU3CPE1 using OTA update.
I did already try all of the 4 variants (unknown and Sprint), all had these issues with them.
Note: I used to have G900PVPU3CPCA. Now it is CPE1. Not sure how this will effect anything.
I have relative problem but in my case the phone give two different version whith phone checking by 1234 it say it's G900F model AP:G900FXXU1BOC1, CP:G900FXXU1BOC7, CSC:G900FITV1BOC1 but when I check with phone info apk all information is for G900P I ready try to update to MM6 with G900P stock firmware and then the phone IMEI changed to 9....serie after when I restaure the backup ROM the phonegive now many issues like COMEBACK and MENU KEYS don't work, when I receive a call the phone restart and camera don't work if sameone have solution , I thanks in advance
dont flash a tar.md5 on your G900P thats for another variant, it could hard brick your device. The problem youre having with missing calls isnt from the firmware. Are you not using it on sprint anymore? I saw your mention of Hebrew on it which leads me to think that youre using it outside of the US, if thats the case, the phone is entirely capable of using non-US GSM carriers, I used mine in Romania and Bulgaria this summer with zero issue.

All the information is here, read
Whatever model it says in download mode is the correct model, the rest are faked to sell a different model phone as a more popular one
now what to do to make it working like before on GSM
I live in Ghana. I bought my Galaxy s5 from a store. Obviously they said it is brand new. I went back to office and tried updating to marshmallow and I was informed that the phone has been changes in an unauthorized way so I should download the update via kids or smartswitch.
Mind you, the phone came with a firmware for model g900f (I couldn't write down the firmware details since I did not know what they meant then). I thought it was a firmware error so I wanted to upgrade manually, and when I booted to download mode I rather found the model to be a g900p.
After flashing back to g900p I cannot flash back to g900f because the phone is inactivated even though I use a high speed wifi, I cannot access lots of functions like find my samsung.
I know there is a way to flash back to g900f. Please help me and my friend up there. Thank you
guys, you can use a g900p in countries outside of the USA. I just did that less than 6 months ago (Romania and Bulgaria). What errors are you getting when you pop the sim card in? Is youre device rooted with a custom recovery? what ROM and baseband are you on? Certain ROMs only need you to run the SSU.apk to unlock the global capability of it. Also, idoneapps.com is a place you can go to fully unlock the device. @idone and @Nodial are the forum moderators over there and they are likely the smartest guys in the room
---------- Post added at 12:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:27 PM ----------
also, idoneapps.com charges $35 for their unlock service, but if youre at a dead end, its a price worth paying. Ive unlocked both of my G900Ps thru them, and their work is flawless
Hi,
I have been rooting my note 4 since it came out and familiar with any problems that may occur with kernels and stuff...
I decided to sell my phone and put it towards an S8 when i t comes out, i am sending my phone to Mazuma Mobile but wanted to unroot it first but the stock firmwares i am flashing though Odin are stuck on the Samsung start up screen.
I am not sure about unrooting and need some help, the latest firmware i have tried is "BTU-N910FXXU1BOC5-20150423120804" - i have the N910F model but it wont load beyond the Samsung bootup screen.
Anybody give me some help please and maybe point me to the correct firmware that i should be using?
Appreciate any help.
Thank you.
Think i need to use the latest firmware - N910FXXS1DQC3
Can someone point me to somewhere i can download this please?
Every link i check asks me to buy an upgrade account to down load this firmware.
Cheers
