Hi XDA,
i'm experiencing a not very cool no-update
I just go to the check OS update screen on my G2 and I can see a "Android Update 1.5" (4.2Mb)
I push the download button, it DL well and ... I can't install it ! The Download button is here again with the "Android Update 1.5" (Reboot required but the reboot actually does nothing)
I root my G2, but don't know if it's the reason of this
The very not cool part is that my version is CRB17 ... So the update isn't done !
Please help me, Donut is coming !
Is this a new update released today?
No it's an old one ...
No one had this problem before ?
Hard reset doesn't resolve the problem, stills stuck on displaying "Android Update 1.5" 4.2Mb, the phone doesn't ask me to install after I download it
Update Problem
I have this exact same problem on my rooted UK Voda Magic. No solution but one question. How do you know the update has not been applied you referred to the CRB17 number, my build number is exactly the same but the firmware version reads as 1.5. What is the latest build number????
The FW is firmed with releasekeys and if you flashed a custom recovery it won't accept it.
Cant Update
Any way around this particular problem? Does this also mean when donut is released we will be unable to update through the "update feature" on the phone?
So nobody has any suggestions, is there another recovery version which we could flash that would allow updates? Or maybe un root update and re root? I am assuming this problem will prevent me from updating to 1.6 when it is released.
Me and my partner both have a Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 in the UK on EE, Our phones are set up the same and today my partners phone downloaded a 350Mb+ OTA update and applied it fine while if I try to update OTA it says it is up to date and if I try to update on the PC I get a message saying "Failed to convert to upgrade mode"
My phone currently says:
Build number: JDQ39.I9505XXUAME2
While my partners is:
Build number: JDQ39.I9505XXUBMG7
Which Kies says is the newest update.
What could be causing my phone to completely ignore the update? My phone isn't rooted and nothing has been added to either phone, they are both stock S4s.
I've spent the past 6 hours searching to try to find if anyone else has had this and any I have found have no answers, it's starting to drive me crazy now.

You could always go to apps then all and go to the Google Framework Services and Clear the cache and Reboot to try to force the OTA

Unfortunately this didn't work, also tried force stopping the service, clearing cache and data, rebooted and tried the OTA update again, still saying the phone is up to date, really wish it would have been that simple.
have you tried clearing cache & dalvik cache and restoring to default from recovery mode?
Update: After trying the suggestions in this thread, none of them worked unfortunately. I was getting ready to do a reset on it to see if it would help and I it suddenly decided to download and apply the update, so the problem is sorted but I have no clue how.

Dude, forget these OTA`s and flash the entire new rom from here www.sammobile.com with Odin 3.04. Afterwards do a data factory reset (backup first), this will give you the best result.
Same thing happened to me.
Me, my girlfriend and my brother have a Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505. All phones was bought 3 weeks ago.
After purchase I checked all S4 for update. All show that they have newest updates.
2 days ago I once again checked my GF S4 for update and i started to update. Downloaded one 70mb ant other 300mb update patch and updated itself. Same on brothers phone.
But when I try to update my S4 it says that its up to date.
My phone:
Build number: I9505XXUAMDE
GF and brothers phone:
Build number: I9505XXUAMDD. After update I9505XXUBMG7.
Why my S4 do not updates?
Updates are released in different time depending on region?
I got a new update. It downloaded and restarted. Then its still stuck in S226 build number. And when i go to Settings-about phone-System Updates, it shows nothing.
Anyone experiencing the same?
I got this update last night, but the phone keeps telling me there's an update. There's an icon to "continue update", but nothing happens when I click it.
I called tech support and they got on my phone and verified the update was done, but couldn't figure out why it keeps announcing an update.
Did anyone else get this successfully? Anyone have this repeat problem and solve it? Thanks.
When you say you verified the update was done - you mean it was finished downloading? Or it was finished installing/applying the update?
What does it say your build is at now?
I don't think it downloaded. It just kept showing the "continue update" button which did nothing. Took it to a store today and they did something to initiate the download. It upgraded and it's H91010i now.
The AT&T tech support on the phone yesterday was wrong, I didn't have the update.
I restarted my lg v20 h990ds and its stuck on "firmware update " and down now waiting for connection pls tell me what to do now ???
There is no other option no touch working only volume up down key
Take out the battery and try to start again after putting battery in
hi. Just want to know if you guys where able to get the update via FOTA. As Settings still tells me, my phone has the updated OS. I did a Factory Reset yesterday still tells me OS is still the updated version. Please help! Thanks!
As far as I know, factory reset won't help with the update.
